Tapp could Have Been Saved for an OC Character
Don't get me wrong this isn't a post to bash Tapp or anything else, but I just think he should have been saved for an OC idea of a black cop/detective instead of a licensed character. One of the reasons i say this because being licensed it is much harder to get/or create cosmetics for the character which limits the abilities of customization. Pig and Tapp just recently got new cosmetics what a year or 2 ago(correct me if I'm wrong please), and I don't see them getting them any time soon. Not to mention his cosmetics are kinda... dry. I think we could have just got Amanda on release and they could have saved Tapp's "trope" for another OC character to be released later on.
I feel like we were robbed of a character slot LOL.

I didn't say I wanted a Black cop specifically where are you reading this? I said I would rather him been an OC for more freedom in cosmetics and backstory.

You said you wanted a "black cop/detective", I don't know how else I'm supposed to take that. Besides, nothing's stopping them from creating a cop/detectective character. Though frankly I don't think there's much reason to, given that we already have a bunch of cop characters from Resident Evil.

I mean you've got Adam if you want to play as a black guy with a bunch of cosmetics, though they could certainly add another.
I feel like you'd have better luck just asking for more black characters rather than saying a licenced character should have been original.

I do feel we could use a couple more black characters. I'd like to have one from the American South, I want more Southerners in DbD so that I have options other than only Kate.

Didn't we have one as a concept way back in the day but it got canned because the survivors had to be scared and more average? They should bring her back as a survivor.

If you don't want a Black cop archetype, a survivor named Detective Tapp, or a survivor that looks like Danny Glover, what exactly is the problem you have? There are lots of male survivors to choose from.

I meant I would have preferred that type be released as OC if they were going for it. Licensed characters are hit or miss. So why not have a character happen to be a cop and Black with more cosmetics and original storyline. Idk why that poster thought it was weird…

They just said it was oddly specific. It is oddly specific, especially since you keep saying you don't necessarily want a Black cop and the Saw DLC was years ago. Why not bring up Quentin? He has to be the most nothing survivor in the game. Or any of the other licenced survivors?
There are lots of original survivors, and there will be many more. What's wrong with Tapp?
If you don't specifically want a Black cop, what difference does it make that Tapp is in the game? With how they've been rolling out survivors, I'm sure we'll get another Black survivor soon if that's what you're looking for.

I understand that Renato is Brazilian, but Gabriel is surely black? As is Èlodie and ofc we have Claudette.
We have quite a mix of skin colours and nationalities... The cast seems pretty diverse to me?

We already have countless American characters in DbD, i prefer characters from different countries.

Elodie was teased as a detective who got taken while investigating a cult in the archive way back before she was added to the game, never heard of any other detective from back in the day.

Because Tapp and Adam are the only unambiguously Black male survivors in the game and one is licensed. So yes, I would like another OC character that is not licensed, that’s why I said it.
I was staring that they could’ve released Tapp as a different OC character instead of from a franchise because I think it would have been better.

There was some concept art for a black cop that they commented about how she didn’t end up as a character because they didn’t feel she would make sense being all defenseless in the trials. I couldn’t find the source sadly or i would have added it.. wasn’t too long ago that I read about it though..

I get your point but Tapp is cool so I’m glad they added him. I’d rather they just add another OC character with a different trope (and hopefully don’t forget about them for years like they did with Adam)
