Casual mode is needed
At least during events. My wife was able to play for the first time since the event. We got in two games before we quit because killers had to finish off the matches as soon as possible.
She was able to hop into one snow man though, so that was mildly fun for her.
What's the point of having these events when you can't even enjoy them? Killers. Read the room. Jesus.

While I get the frustration of feeling like Killers and Survivors during events don't "chill" I can assure you a Casual mode would not work in DBD. Everybody who would want an easy game to stomp others would use that mode

Nah, you'd still have people that would play ranked to get there BP rewards on the 13th.
Not to mention you could make casual mode more casual by having respawns or other ways to make it so you don't just get eliminated.

Casual mode works in games like overwatch because the casual players balance out the try hard on the team. If one person decides to play like it's comp, they're likely not going to make a difference in the match as just one of 5 players on the team (unless they just are vastly better, and even quick play has matchmaking).
This doesn't work in DbD, because one team has only one player. If the killer decides to play competitively, the match is competitive. And there's no perk or item bans that will help here because the issue is with base kit mechanics and strategies like camping and tunneling.

DBD only has a casual mode.

This moreso raises the question whether our current queue is not casual mode already.

also skill gap issue.
it doesnt matter how easy killer goes on you if he's simply better.

ok but consider: if you're trying to win a game as quickly as possible as killer, which are you going to sign into: the game mode for competetive hardcore sweaty players, or casual mode?

How would the casual mode work in your opinion?

I hear ya, but killers have event challenges they really want to get through asap as well. Last night I was a little rough, but now I've completed the 1st page and can relax.

I've only had a few killers participating, most are just playing normally. Had a couple sweats but they haven't been the norm thankfully.

No? You can say that for every single game with ranked mode and casual already in it. Makes no sense tbh. Sweats will play casual mode? So what lol. Unlike what we have now where sweats dont play with casuals at all...

You cant blame your current mmr Killers for that, when you bring your wife first time playing up to your mmr its your fault, the Killers she would get to play as would be very good. in contrast a first time player would not be.
you should let her play vs her own mmr for a while before you give her a challenge she cant compete with.
a casual mode would not fix that because people would still play hard in casual mode.

An actual casual mode basically turns into a situation where people openly admit theyre not bringing meta stuff so people wanting an easy match will go all in on those games.
It's a sad reality, but there's not really a means to filter out for just one playstyle.
