Is Friends 'til the End better than BBQ without obsession synergy?

In the PTB feedback, I said Friends 'til the End was worse than BBQ because it only showed 1 survvior when BBQ could show multiple. People said that Friends 'til the End was stronger because it could show a survivor within 40 m and was guaranteed to show a survivor. I said that it was very unlikely for 1 specific survivor to be within 40 m and BBQ had better odds of finding a nearby survivor. Now that Friends 'til the End has been out for a while, was I right?

I'd say it's different, not necessarily worse or better.

I'd say its more consistent that BBQ, in that whoever you catch, you either get a scream or an aura read, regardless of distance, and the length of that aura read can expose a lot of what survivors are doing (help find the gen or gate survivors are committed to at end game for example)

However it's also more obvious that it is in play, so the obsession can know to hop in a locker and deny you the aura read, whereas BBQ is much harder to guess if you don't make it super obvious.

What I do like about FTTE is it makes a lot of the obsession perks far more viable, opening up many interesting perk combos that would have been bad before. I saw Bazazel play a Dredge with FTTE, Make Your Choice, Nemesis and Lethal Pursuer....

No slowdown whatsoever, and the map traversal instant downs were brutal 😳

FTTE is becoming one of my new favs. It has value all game AND is very nice for finding that last survivor right away.

I find it more valuable on my Artist than BBQ, sure it's only 1 aura read but 10/12 seconds if run with LP is enough time to aim a follow up bird once swarmed, allowing for easier snipes vs BBQ's 5-7 seconds. Also added benefit that the scream side of the perk works with Dead Man's Switch which is an awesome perk on Artist. Exposed effect is the cherry on top if obsession is real close or literally stupid, i've gotten value out of the exposed effect like 3-4 times that way.

FTTE is worse than BBQ, because it announces itself to the survivors, which makes it easier for them to dodge it. And since the primary effect only reveals the obsession, if that survivor has distortion, or just hides in a locker until the aura reading is done, then you won't easily find them.

BBQ, on the other hand, has the potential to reveal 3 survivors, and doesn't announce itself to the survivors, so there are more chances of it actually showing someone.

I think it's a god awful perk all around tbh, insanely overrated

The synergy with other Obsession perks is what makes it good. It’s a pressure perk and not solely an aura reveal perk.
