Is it just me that hates the swamp
I feel like I get this map sooo much more than anything else, multiple times I’ll have it come up 2 or 3 times in a row. I’m a survivor main but hate it regardless of who I am playing as.... anyone else?

That map is strong for killers due to it's weird distribution of pallets. I suggest you learn the infinite loops it has because they are pretty strong tbh.

I really dont like that map as killer. I still have PTSD from that one game where a 4-man tested the new claudette stealth cosmetic on swamp....
As survivor I almost always win on that map, you can lose the killer really easily during chase. Of course if you are one of those clicky clicky guys, then you will get down rather fast

The map is one of the worst maps for killer.
Only rivaled by bloodlodge.
Way to big to pressure and both styles of play -stealth and looping- are supported by the map.

^The posts above kind of just prove the map is balanced, in a weird way.
Lemme explain, there is a lack of pallets in Swamp, more or less due to the fact that there is generally two pallets on the main sections of both Swamp maps, that being the ship and that weird cabin thing and one pallet in the Killer Shack. The only time people would generally go to these areas is to perform the infinites, except for the boat. The rest of the map is fair game for Killer, as they don't have to deal with pallet galore being thrown around them with most of the pallets being spawned in the main sight seeing gen locations, but can still be looped by certain pallet spawns and can be difficult to find most Survivors running stealth builds, but there is still an easy chance to get a Survivor when you spot them. This is just an opinion though. :)

Yeah I feel I definitely have some more learning to do, I’m not a pro player by any means but yeah it’s just one of them maps for me that I loath
one improvement would to add a new killer to the game for that map called...The Shrek. Everytime he hits you he shouts “GET OUTTA MY SWAMP” I’m just kidding obviously but yeah I hate that map, but I’ll bare in mind the tips provided thanks all 👍

I like the swamp as either survivor or killer.
As killer I find the totem placement pretty good. Of course they will always find Ruin but Devour Hope by itself can work really well on this map.
As survivor I like it as well as its good for stealth and creeping around.

I love the swamp maps especially Pale Rose. I was surprised to see how many survivors dislike the map when I joined these forums. Only real drawback is the totem placements are trickier to find.

I dont particularly like the map but i dont hate it either. Maps i do hate however are Haddonfield, Badham, and Mount Ormand. Maps are cancer.

I really hate swamp map on both sides, it's disgusting

I don't HATE it.
But there's multiple other realms i prefer.

Swamp -especially Pale Rose- makes me wanna DC if I play killer.
And by seeing how many survivor use offerings to get that map, they very well know that it is a bullcrap map for killer.
Visibility is bad there from the get go, but someone bring another mist offering and it is like flying blindfolded.

If i have to be honest my favorite maps are probably Autohaven, Macmillian and Coldwind in that order. They seem to be the most well designed and the most well balanced maps. Particularly autohaven. As both killer and survivor i enjoy a good Autohaven map.

I prefer everything over coldwind.

It's the same for me, I don't like the swamp maps and I've got the feeling I get them way too often.

I hate dark maps. Swamp maps are my least favourite. They depress me! But I guess this is the norm in a horror game. It's unlikely to happen but I'd love a tropical island resort themed map. Like the Dead Island resort. It'd be awesome to have a daytime map but it's unlikely. So I'd take sunset!

Depending on RNG, it can have a true infinite. I had it setup once to where they would break LOS going up the stairs long enough to break the chase. It was not mind-gameable either.

I don’t hate the map, my favorite is haddonfield and my least favorite is yaomoka estate.

Swamps were bad before due to their size. They were reduced by like 20-30% in area 2 patches ago. Not the worst but definitely survivor sided.

The boats map is an infinite if you run Balanced landing and mindgame the windows correctly, and the Grim Pantry is an infinite even without balanced. But with balanced it becomes broken, they both suck for killer and are good for survivor. Having infinites comes with a toll though, and that's the minimal amount of pallets compared to other maps. Most maps have 20 but the Swamp maps have around 12, the Game has 15, Yamaoka Estate has something as low as 8 because of the stealth features and I believe Shelter woods (pre PTB) can get as low as 12 but usually has 14. The pallet numbers compensate for maps with too much stealth/infinites and maps that have nothing and need more pallets. @ me if u respond

I don't like it specially as killer, the damn infinite in the big boat is a nightmare, also the vegetation...
Anyway, Rotten fields and Haddonfield are worse as killer IMO.

i would like to see these infinites you guys speak of in 2019. can someone kyf a game?

Those Swamp building with the 2 windows side by side… you never get them blocked, because the survivor can just switch which one they use.

I used to hate it back in the day when it was a huge map, not anymore though, it's fine now. I do hate corn maps though. It's not even the actual corn, it's all the safe loops the map has and the see through walls which are annoying
