So I hit a burn out on this game, Started playing it again today, Trying to finish out the winter event.
why is there such a HUGE amount of people hacking now? Like they aren't even hiding there names. They have their youtubes and twiches right in their name. And live streaming them doing it.
Is this what I have to look forward to every game now? back to back same person :( I love(d) this game!

I haven’t encountered a single hacker yet, believe it or not. But I believe you as I remember that hackers were an issue in dbd well before I got bored of the game years ago.

You probably play DbD very active. The logic why we are not facing as much hackers is simply that hackers are getting banned, opening new free acounts and then ruining games again. The difference is simply that their MMR is super low due to them creating new accounts over and over again.

I'm not sure about the cheating but gen speed is definitely an issue.

It's wild. Around 3:00AM EST they really seem to come out. I had a teammate hacking last night and I didn't know what to do.
They were chain stunning the killer, instantly healed, basekit DS without ever being hooked, teleporting to the roof of the shack.
I started recording after I escaped and filled out a ticket.
They even had two of the same add-ons for their med-kit 👍

The cheaters never left, they just switched to being subtle cheaters for a while. Now they're getting bold again, and BHVR doesn't care because they think banned accounts = more sales, when in reality the cheaters are still living off of thousands of EGS launch accounts.

Welcome back, I might be going on a break once the event ends. I haven't seen any hackers but if I were to make a guess it is the event bringing players back.

Yeah the cheaters are really bad lately, I suppose they figure they can get away with it while BHVR is on Holiday and they're probably right.
My greatest fear for DBD isn't that it dies from lack of interest or balance like all the doomers keep saying but rather it becomes a Titanfall 2 situation and it just becomes an unplayable mess from constant hacking and DDoSers, we're not there yet but it feels like a very real possibility.

Oh I know, Im not new. I have 9k hours between PC and ps4. But this game isn't the same anymore. It really isn't. And it makes me sad

I agree to a point. Its just mind blowing that people actually live stream them hacking the game and they are still playing lol. Its like how much more proof do you need? And the person in this post has been doing it for MONTHS not just the event. Its crazy af

Well they are for me at least. Not sure what I do to get them. My other friends that play say that they haven't had a single one.

The recent issue is due to Microsoft giving away game pass for free, and Dead By Daylight is of course on the game pass. It's similar to when the game went free on Epic Games, a bunch of free accounts for people to exploit, get banned and hop straight back on.

sadly yeah. I just wish they would do an I.P ban. I know that there is also ways around that as well. But it would be a lot better than just an account ban. (honestly dont know how they ban ppl never have had it done lol) but idk there is too many hackers these days.

Almost 1000 hours and I still haven't encountered a blatant cheater that I know of.

I've been seeing a lot of subtle cheaters lately, and that means there's probably more I'm not noticing.
For example I was playing a game as the Plague, chasing one infected/broken survivor as the last gen was completed. Decently long chase (which is now suspicious for a minor speed boost), so it was about 30 more seconds before I scored a hit, but the survivor had endurance.
There's nothing that could have given that survivor endurance. They didn't heal anyone with Buckle Up, they didn't have Dead Hard, they weren't recently unhooked. What they did have was a Styptic, but they were Broken... so they couldn't use the medkit.

IP and HWID bans are unfortunately very easy to evade, they've been beaten since the 90s. All it takes is a crappy VPN or a dynamic IP from your ISP, and a cheap HWID spoofer.

Nope, neither. Plus they hadn't been hooked or taken any protection hits anyway. It was the first time this particular survivor was hit all game, and being Plague with no one cleansing meant any hits would have been downs.

Yeah, it sucks.. This is probably my least favorite event so far cause of the amount of hacking throughout the event. I don’t remember last year’s winter event being this bad or even at all.

yeah, the number of soft hackers i've seen lately is increasing as well... I hate the survivors who are faster than bloodlust tier 3 the entire game...
Sadly BHVR does absolutely nothing about it...

I've noticed it. Survivors are always just fast enough to keep away from me at all times, and when I check, they aren't running any perks that would increase their movement.
I can't speak for last winter event since I was taking a DBD break, but this holiday event has been very annoying. Like, annoying to the point where I just gave up because it was every single match. Not even the same people.
I don't remember it being this bad around the Halloween event either.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one seeing an increase in hackers though. I thought I was just starting to burnout and suck like I did last year. Hopefully BHVR will actually do something about it though.

Weird that you say that about the survivors being fast. Ive noticed lately that ALL killers (the ones ive been facing) seem like they have agitation, and they dont. but they are like super fast while carrying a survivor. Which I think is weird. But eh. You never know with this game anymore.
