I don't play Billy but isn't Overheat already basically not-existant? Hopefully he gets more than -just- getting rid of overheat.

Exactly. Overheat is basically not a thing anymore. It was barely noticeable most of the time anyway (except for the PTB where it was introduced), but nowadays it might not exist. So it will not change anything if they get rid of it.
Overheat is also not the reason why people dont play Billy.

Yes, I would say so. There is no sign of Overheat, so I think it is a hint that it is removed. Good, but pointless.

I mean rn all it does is punish drift king which i don't think is necessary. I love zooming around the map until i find someone to saw. Overheat prevented me from stopping and going for another if i did it for to long. So it wasnt completly pointless. Just it affected one playstyle vs the others. (Some people forget when they buffed it for revving they nerfed it for actually running) (hopefully with his addon pass they also remove the bump drawback to the purple drift addon)

So it brings us back to the question... why add it in the first place? If you were happy with his performance and happy with everything except insta-saw why add a mechanic we're now removing because, as we all could've told you before PTB, it was an awful idea...

I mean if youve ever seen the mclean video he went into some more info on the thought behind it back then. "The dev team is made of human beings. And human beings disagree on everything. Sometimes changes are introduced and get passed around. Before being inserted" and he made it pretty clear he wasnt for the change back then. But maybe some of the team was.

If they remove it then they will add something else. BHVR wants every killer to have some sort of recharge mechanic. Billy's was the overheat to prevent constant use. It backfired and got reduced to an annoyance but filled the requirement.
Like I said prior to his rework, I wouldn't be surprised if they added gas cans.

Billy without overheat was the most obnoxious killer in the entire game, because of the constant chainsaw revving noises. I absolutely hated Billy players that would just spam 99% chainsaws during chases, which caused my headphones to get blasted by constant BRRRMMMMRMMMRMM BRRRMMRMMRMMM BBBRRRRMMMRMMMRMMMMMMMRMMRMRM noises.
For real the chainsaw revving noises need to get toned down on the survivor side.

Its annoying as billy rn to. Since the saw is like half of your volume. Its louder than the chase theme i feel. Then ya got the scream and the overheat sputter. I hate it so much. Hopefully they change it for both sides.

My bet: Overheat gets removed. Faster charge time (~10%) and last bat not least bump CD reduction. That might sound a lot but it would be somwhat fair.

rlly hope their changes for him are more than just overheat changes. Right now, overheat isnt the thing thats holding him back. Its the fact that his power isnt able to getvdowns fast enough. i would like to see a barbs-glasses type add on for him which increases his pallet break speed as well as decreasing his hit cooldown. also make carb 115% pls

Overheat is not a relevant issue anymore so that would be disappointing if that was all the changes.

I highly suspect overheat was added purely so addons would have more variables to alter. Because without overheat, all you can really change is charge, turn, and sprint speed.

Although lopro and the iris add stuff outside of just the normal saw. Lopro lets ya go through pallets. The one iri makes you undetectable. And the other makes your saw silent if out of the tr. (Its fun for jumpscares with tinkerer or other undetectable stuff)

Overheat was added because some Billy players would just 99% chainsaw during chases, for extended periods of time, waiting for an opportunity to curve. And some Billy players would just facecamp a survivor with a 99% chainsaw the entire time.

Still just want 100% look sensitivity for horizontal left and right as an active ability while charging...
It'd help console Billy life so much. I don't care about matching PC players. .. but choosing between getting constant spin teched or my basic look turning me into the floor like a corkscrew drill is just depressing 😔
