WoO reliance makes blindness status really strong
I've noticed this lately where addons that I just stocked up on and forgot about that cause blindness REALLY screws with people. All of a sudden, survivors are running into deadzones due to brown addons. Anyone else notice this? It use to be that blindness was almost purely for slugging builds since aura reading addons were never really meta for survivors, but WoO really makes blindness shine.

Yep - this is why people shouldn't complain about WoO. If you're sick of people using it all the time, just run blindness perks/add-ons.

Why do you think people have such a problem with UW?
0 -
Probably more because it denies solo queue players the basic information that they need to play the game.
I still don't understand why this idiotic status effect is still in the game.
9 -
Not really. It makes Blindness actually do something for once at least though.
0 -
Because it's one of the best tracking perks in the games for the minimum effort required
Blindness is not it's problem
5 -
Oh trust me people complain about the blindness part just as much.
6 -
I totally disagree. The perk is the best tracking perk just for the few killers that can get to the survivor before he has the chance to hide or get to a loop (i.e. high mobility killers). For the rest, it's a nice perk that allow you to find nearby hidden survivors at max. In fact, it is Nº 18 in Nightlight with just a 6.47% use.
And as @GannTM said, even the first complains about the perk was about the blindness effect more than anything. Remove the effect from the perk and you would see how almost nobody would mind the perk being like it is now.

Is it time to use Third Seal again?

Still no. It still is gonna get cleansed, so your better off running UW if you wanna start chases against blind survivors. I was using a blindness brown addon on SM with a chase build though and it was working pretty well.

I might give it a try anyway, just to see what happens.

People are running Calm Spirit more than Vigil according to Nightlight (3.3% and 2.1% of builds respectively); CS being the tracking counter and Vigil being the blind counter (with the added bonus that Vigil also synergises with exhaustion whereas calm spirit doesn't really synergise with much else)
also the assertion that "the first complaints about the perk" were blindness related confuse me because anyone I've seen mention the blind did so as an explicit afterthought to the tracking ("why does it also have a blind on top of the already op tracking," that kind of thing) but I'll assume we just saw different people's posts so I guess moot point

If you touch my belonging, I hit you real bad. You feel hurt everytime you touch my belonging, but the truth is, you feel hurt everytime I hit you.
You scream when hitting TR is not a problem (well it does with Nurse,Blight, Wesker). Its because you get blinded everytime you scream, you hate the screaming.
Removing side effect, the perk would be near worthless on low tier killers unless slug for 4K.

I play nothing but soloQ for the past year and I ave almost never used WoO. You don't need it. You can learn to play the game without it.

I already do!
Huntress lullaby + third seal + undying + perk of your choice.
Works wonders.

It sounds like a SoloQ destroyer.
Interesting build.

Not just soloq.
It's more about people that boost themselves into levels, they shouldn't compete in.
Toolboxes with bnp, Medkits with syringes, quad meta but they can't hit skill checks with huntress lullaby or know the layout of the main building. The build is thought for these kind of people. It's a test of their knowledge and skill in the basics of the game. That's my intention at least.
But yes. It sadly also punishes soloq harder.

And I did it.
Here are the results:
Map was Sanctum of Wrath, with GARBAGE totem spawns.
Sadly Lullaby didn't do much, it got blessed shortly after Undying. Brutal Strength was there because I rarely play without it. It has always been a good perk on Freddy.
And Third Seal carried this game.
It is amazing how people get a bit disoriented without auras. Jeff hit struggle phase on his first hook because I think no one paid attention to the bubble, and afterwards they couldn't see him. Same with that last second-switch Claudette over there.
And Jill didn't know where Yui was, so she couldn't heal her from the dying state.
Overall, I liked the results and the build. Just wished I had gotten a better map for totems.

And they didn't even have WoO

I despise Windows from a survivor pov.
People who run it have absolute no idea about looping and they just run from pallet to pallet, predropping them all, and after they waste most of the pallets on the map, they gonna complain in the end chat about their other teammates going down faster than them, when they were the ones that screwed them over in the first place.
I'm glad that UW exists, and i'd hate to see it nerfed because survivors "can't see". Yeah the screaming part is annoying but it's just old Doctor's Static Field as a perk, which is pretty whatever for me xD

I complain about it in the sense that such a strong perk doesn't need also a secondary effect, but I don't see blindness status as a problem per se
But then again, I don't run (nor need) WoO and I pay attention to hook bubbles, it really doesn't take that much effort 🤷

Yui did.

You took away deja vu from the others, lol

I'm telling ya, Third Seal carried that game.

I didn't mention WoO. I was referring to basekit aura reading such as the auras of hooked/downed survivors, the denial of which hits solo queue significantly harder than SWF.
I say we add more perks that cause Blindness on the killer side, like Residual Manifest but in a more meaningful way. Then we will see how much killers love this dumb status effect.

And? Doesn't change the fact that UW is the Nº 18 while Lethal Pursuer and BBQ are 5º and 6º, with 15.35% and 14.32% compared with UW.
The perk is far from being the "ultimate tracking perk" people claim it is now. And yes, the first posts about the perk when Alien released was about the 30 second blind, not the tracking as again it is only really effective on those killer that can get there before the screaming survivor has got to the other side of the map.
Believe me, as a WoO + DV user I would know.

WoO should already be providing the value you need before blindness even comes into effect being able to spot strong setups from far away you normally would have to go out of your way to spot. I think it's a trade worth taking if the killer is running blindness perks/addons instead of the actually strong stuff.

Oh sorry, my bad.
