Can say I am pretty peeved, all the cosmetics they get? Why is all the energy and commitment into mobile? yet when people like myself and others are wishing it for all devices? equality? Ya know?

I think the mobile game is mostly made by NetEase, which is a completely different company (one that specialises in mobile games). Probably under some kind of license, I'm guessing. I could be wrong, but I don't think BHVR have a lot to do with the mobile version.

And it likely doesn't share any of the core game's code anyway, so porting stuff between the two versions is probably a struggle. I'm not knowledgable about game development though, so I'm not certain about that.

I believe it's a partner, I am just unsure why efforts from BHVR themselves aren't pushing this to be on all platforms, all they do for mobile? I mean what is it about such that makes it more better etc then other based consoles or computer etc? I am just wondering?

Licensing agreements between the mobile version and standard game are two separate things. Devs have talked about trying to get the licenses for the cosmetics for the base game, but they don't inherently have a right to them.

As a guess, I suspect the gacha system brings in a ton of money, allowing NetEase to spend more on licensed cosmetics and art development.

Mobile games typically bring in way more money as far as I know. Although it is a shame to see so many basic features in DBD mobile that the core game doesn't have for whatever reason.

Mobile has different developer and they make their own decisions.

Sure they have cool cosmetics but the way you get them is through gambling.

They are more experimental and add things like emotes and prop hunt.

Also, not every license is in mobile. Silent Hill and Resident Evil are not in mobile for example.

I think it's a partner, but still a lot of effort is given to where it shouldn't, need I say anything about charms and other things really not needed to put attention towards, I am not understanding though I guess why the want for mobile?

They confirmed it's a different developer in the most recent AMA

    Money.

Also, idk if you've played mobile DBD, but the gameplay is terrible compared to PC/Console. So they add bonus stuff to entice people to play it.

Yes but why, why is it so popular via a mobile? I haven't needed to add it to my phone, even with all the added goodies?

They'll put resources where the money is. It's as simple as that. nothing wrong with that - it is a business, after all

Mobile gaming in general is very popular because it's very accessible.

So many people have phones they appeal to nearly everyone because of how versatile they are

Gaming PCs and Consoles are a commitment that only gamers would make

    This.

There likely isn't much crossover in terms of people who actively play both mobile and regular. However, lots of people play games on mobile that have never even touched a console or PC game.

Completely different developer. We don't know if BHVR has any involvement in DBD Mobile at all, it's just a mobile game studio doing what they want with the game and probably just running some stuff like prophunt by BHVR to make sure they're cool with it.

I'm also a bit jealous how mobile come up with high quality skins than core. Even new survivors get more skins at their debut with general outfit skins being accessible to them. Core devs really needs to take a few notes on how to make good skins like them.

The mobile devs probably lurk on the forums and take all the good ideas we have for core and add them to mobile.

If they add controller support I might switch!

Pretty sure the only reason mobile make their cosmetics look as eye-candy looking and as accessable to as many characters as possible is to have as many people as possible to spend money on their gacha system, it's honestly no different from how they sell cosmetics in Identity V.

Personally i'm not a fan of their cosmetics on dbd mobile.

To be very clear, the mobile version of the game is handled by a separate team, not us. We are not splitting resources between the two versions of the game. The PC & console version has our full attention.

Developing content for one version is not the same as developing content for the other. Content designed for the PC & console version will need to be adapted to run on the lower hardware specs of a mobile device, and special considerations need to be made to ensure that things control well on a touchscreen. Likewise, additional work would also need to be done to adapt content from the mobile version to the PC & console version. It's not as simple as dragging and dropping something from one platform to another.

    Those stats baffles me...

Why in the world do people want to play games on a small phone screen with fingers taking up 10-20% of it?

Computers can perform better in all aspects, offering a bigger screen, much better graphics, and deeper gameplay mechanics.

Well, that does make sense, i remember paying 670 Euro for an used 80486 with stunning 66 MHz, my very first "real" computer.

Used that as a payout for my next one and so on.

That being said, phones are also really expensive now days, but thats a sidetrack.

    Thx 4 the explanation.

Yeah, but Core is still getting absolutely embarrassed by Mobile

BHVR sold DBD Mobile to NetTease, they are NOT partners, they are competitors. BHVR has 0 rights to anything that mobile has or does.

To be fair, there is a few obvious things: number of skins as well as details on them (it’s very subjective and I prefer core cosmetics in general) as well as various accessibility and quality of life features and new game modes, Mori animations (though I think they work the same as Naughty bear one being cosmetic-linked)

i think they even announced separate skin slots for masks which may bring backpacks toggleable as well

a big nope is the gacha mechanic of course which people always conveniently forget about when praising mobile. That as well as their attempted Claudette erasure from marketing…

The thing is, the Moris are subjective. For me, they look childish, because sometimes they are just too much.

When it comes to the cosmetics, I agree that some of them look awesome. And I want some in the Core-game as well (but porting them is difficult, because they need to rebuild them for Core). But IMO good Cosmetics dont excuse the Gacha-mechanic. In Core, I can just pay 10 bucks and have the Skin I like. On mobile, I would spend money for a chance to get the Skin I want.

This really nullifies the praise for the cosmetics IMO.

If I was able to purchase Moris, cosmetics on ps5 I certainly would, so BHVR don't handle the mobile version, I understand that, and this whole idea of consoles etc cost money, er so do phones, and people (not all) wish the best, yes it's something you use a lot and all the time. But it feels like it's an excuse, let BHVR give us an option to have what the mobile platform does, at least it's a CHOICE, and don't games etc absorb up a lot of battery life when out and about? Heck whatsapp calls drain my phone! lol I think if enough people wish stuff on the consoles/PC maybe have a re think?

Peanits' reply you are talking about here was in response to someone wondering why people like playing games on mobile. It has nothing to do with the difficulty of bringing mobile skins to PC/console which was mentioned in a different reply (different company, different assets, you can't simply drag and drop a DBD mobile skin into our DBD)
