Friendly reminder there is no such thing as gen rushing.
You can use ruin, BBQ, and just putting pressure on gens to combat the only survivor objective

There are other objectives you must concern yourself with now especially if you wish to pip. You actually need to get into chases and save people in order to pip properly. Gen rushing is a bad move nowadays.
Also, sorry buddy. But "putting pressure" on gens is easier said than done my guy. The Killer can only chase 1 person at a time, and if he's choosing to drop chases to go patrol gens, that's actually a very terrible rookie mistake that will cost him the game even further.
Ruin helps. BBQ helps. But you must chase someone at some point, and with how long looping takes and the fact that it only takes 80 seconds to do a gen, if the survivors are playing optimally, all gens can be popped on about 3 minutes. If the Killer actually decides to focus on gen defense, he simply won't get any kills and the game will crawl to a standstill once the 3 gen comes about. And if the Killer 3 gens for too long, even when it is easy for him to down a survivor, that can be considered holding the game hostage.
The Killer is pretty much always fighting a losing battle. This is why so many Killers camp and tunnel, especially the first guy they catch. It's easier to snowball off of 3 people than 4, it's really simple.

No one is concerned with ranking up right now since the lobby times are huge.
That's probably due to the fact that people aren't capable of actually ranking, or they don't wish to put the effort in doing so.
I'm gonna bank on that most survivors are unable to pip in the new system, which is why wait times begin to skyrocket past Rank 10.

No you can. It's a little harder now but the fact is everyone else is just staying at a low rank because there is no seasonal rewards for ranking up in the new system. Besides longer and longer que times and most of the appeal of this game is kinda like pubg where you should just be able to drop in and play. No one likes waiting for a lobby
This game requires a lobby system, there isn't really a way to change that at all. It's either have a lobby and wait or you wait in the main menu until you find a full match. I mean, drop in? What if it doesn't find anyone? I'm just gonna play a 1v1? That's no fun at all.
I completely agree they need to add some kind of seasonal rewards as well as extend the actual season length however. Plus I've seen enough survivors to complain about the Emblems to assume many Survivors have some kind of issue with the system itself rather than the fact there aren't seasonal rewards. There are things I'd adjust about the Emblems but for the most part they're good.

Before it was fine since you could get lobbies immediately. Now when I play high rank survivor the lobbies are barren or have red ping.
Its the same on the killer side. I'm rank 10 atm and the lobbies are a pain unless I'm facing SWF groups. I hate waiting for lobbies for 10 minutes when they're over in half that time.
However back on topic.
Gen-rushing does exist in some form. You'll typical see it when survivors are using items, perks or add-ons to help repair generators faster.
However it wouldn't be that much of a problem if pallets were not so effective at wasting the killers time. Why are the most played killers at high ranks Hillbilly and Nurse? Because of their mobility.
These killers are valued so heavily in chasing survivors where the other killers suffer. And if it they chose to abandon a chase, these killers are the least punished in doing so.

Friendly reminder that Marth88 has a couple hundred videos on YouTube of matches with the gens completed in under 4 minutes...2

I think what's happening is a killer gets into a chase right off the bat meanwhile two other survivors are on separate gens and the two gens pop either at the hook or while they're getting looped I could be wrong though.
On the pallets I'm really hoping the small, yet long awaited for, pallet vacuum change will solve this a little more. Not completely but just getting that one hit in can make a world of difference.0 -

Yes for sure when it's a full tool box squad there will be gen rushing but it's been a while since I've seen it happen. Or even the dreaded 4 BPN bomb again that's just me.

Your second point is exactly what happens. It's just survivors playing optimally. Like I said, the Killer can only chase one guy at a time. This means the other 3 should all be on gens. The first 3 gens should all be popped in a minute and 20 seconds.

Oh, so we're back with the bait threads.
Great.Good to see old habits don't die.
2 -
You know that by saying that there isn't such thing as gen rushing because it's the survivor "only" objectif you also defacto lose the right to complain about camping and tunneling
After all the killers is also doing his only objectif.
Unless you somehow think that your logic should only be apply to only the survivor side because reason.

Someone actually flagged you? I've been having people downvote my stuff for no real reason.
I think someone on here is a little antsy with these buttons lmao
I don't know.
I don't mind.
I'm not here to be loved by people anyway.3 -

And your message didn't break any rule anyway.

Doesn't matter, the logic is still relevant. Many people who complain about tunneling and camping also have no issues using stuff like SWF or gen rushing.

People just don't like me being blunt with my opinions.
I'm used to that fact, and ready to face the consequences anyway. This thread is clearly here to start a war and heated discussions, especially considering what happened with Marth88 experiment and the (quite obvious) trouble genrushing can cause since day 1.
It's like "Yeah, we know genrushing is a thing, but you don't have to rub it in people's face to make them to react just for the sake of getting reactions out of it."
It's not helping anyone.1 -

And that right there might be the perfect definition of a strawman argument.

It's not an argument. It's an observation.

It doesn't matter doe.
I'm pointing out to OP that if we go with his logic there isn't such thing as camping or tunneling.

I'm so sorry I even made this thread. Have fun arguing guys. Been a fun day and a half here but it's still the same as other forums with everyone thinking they're in the right Sad to see it so soon.-3

Gets disappointed when people take the bait.
U wot m8

Yep, Genrush does'nt exi...suddenly hears two gens pop at once
2 -
The "Gen Rush" does exist. Kinda, but like you said it's not the survivors fault, because they just do the objective. It basicly is just the name for the balance issues the game is facing, because the pacing between chases and gens is off, which will already change with the pallet and bloodlust changes, I hope.

Its just literally when the survivors do all gens in at least 4 minutes up to 10 mins(ish).0 -
Gens definitely pop too quick. The emblem system fixed a lot of things, though. You're going to safety pip if you rush gens and go for the exit.
0 -
it's really funny that two years later we are all having the same conversations
0 -
if i get gen rushed i'm not mad at the survivors i'm just annoyed at the game mechanics and the devs to allow this. And pressuring gens is much easier said than done. If a survivor is looping you and you have other priorities and you leave them it's the same thing. They just do gens. This entire game is a double edged sword

why is a thread from 2018 gets revived like this??

didn't even realise lol

A lot of killers with thousands of hours (undoubtedly experienced) say genrush is a thing. Desing problem, not entirely players fault, OK, but you can still have some empathy with the other side and try to do other things like cleansing totem or getting chased (lot of boldness points for it) instead of surfing with urban evasion when the killer is near. BUT OK if you think holding M1 and hidding everytime and scaping is fun, Reparator-Man.
I would add a 5% repairing speed reduction for each totem uncleansed, maybe with a initial 25% speed reduction at the start they would do other things.
