Hex: The Third Seal buff
What do you think about buffing Hex: The Third Seal so that it causes Blindness to 2/3/4 survivors while the totem is up? In other words, remove the "on hit" requirement.
Alternatively, just remove the Hex part and make it apply to 2/3/4 injured, dying, or hooked survivors.

It wouldn't change a single thing.

About?

It wouldn't make the perk viable. Survivors will still only have a 14-30 second inconvenience at the start of the match.

I added an alternative, suggested by Doc October.

That's nice i guess.
Still far too weak for me to ever equip though.
That's not TTS' fault though, that's all on Blindness.

Nah it is good as it is

Blindness can be powerful. The problem, as with many things in this game, is SWF.
3 -
I think alternative is much better assuming they can get rid of by healing.
0 -
Thats a better alternative, but at the same time, SWF would still hard counter it. At least it would be more effective than it is now.
0 -
Yes, that's the idea.

How is this perk good at all?
0 -
SWF hard counters everything in the game.

Tbh, SWF will counter anything so Idk, we should give up thinking about them.

Check his posting history and draw your own conclusions as to whether you should care.

I can't believe I fell for the bait. Tbh, I'm almost proud of him/her

Blindness needs to be removed as it's negated by SWF anyways. We need more things that work against the best survivors, we don't need more things to stomp solos
1 -
The problem is that SWF counters everything in the game, so by that logic, we need to remove everything.

There isn't much out there that can't be countered by SWF.

It would be just like ruin, It would get destroyed at the first 30 seconds of the match.
I like how it is now because survivors dont expect it and dont start searching for it until they are blind-injured. If they started the match blind they would search for the totem and you wouldnt have any preassure on them.
I like to use Knock Out instead because 16m is practically nothing.

Did you read the alternative?

Which is why few people run it, no point in using something that sometimes works if you go for wins. (Devour Hope excluded for me, of course! 😋 )

They're two different perks for different purposes. Knock Out hides a survivor's aura, Third Seal causes Blindness.

Alternatively, just remove the Hex part and make it apply to 2/3/4 injured, dying, or hooked survivors.
I like this version more. Blindness is an inconvenience most of the time, it doesn't justify the perk being a Hex

The alternative will hard buff Legion's using Hex:TTS.
Had a game once where I managed to blind all survivors in like two Frenzys and was able to defend the totem. No one escaped death.
Along with the fact people stupidly thinking not healing against me is a good idea... Hehe.

There are many aura-reading perks.

Hahaha, I use that build too!
Distressing Presence + Hex: Thrill of the Hunt + Hex: The Third Seal + Barbeque and Chili
Honestly though, Blindness as a mechanic only works on Legion/Nurse/Hillbilly because Hex: The Third Seal requires you to hit all four survivors, which is something that Legion easily accomplishes.
To make anything better, you'd need to buff the blindness mechanic itself.
I've suggested making blind survivors unable to see hex totem glow, which means all totems look like dull totems when you are blind.
Hook bubble needs to stay because removing that would make blindness way too strong, unless voice chat is added for solo players.
In addition to this change to blindness mechanic, the duration for blindness related addons need to be DRASTICALLY buffed.
30 seconds of blindness literally is useless. It never affects gameplay in any way. You would need to make the duration at a minimum of 90 seconds to start to see any differences in the way survivors play. The maximum I'd buff it to be would be 120 seconds of blindness per application.
As it stands, only pig's face mask has a decent effect because it's permanent as long as you have the RBT on your head.
I haven't tested Wraith's blindness-afflicting addon, but I assume it's the same as the other ######### blindness addons in that it lasts a paltry 30 seconds.

For what it's worth, TTS would probably give people incentive to heal against Legion.

that's not a good thing, which is why the alternative doesn't sound like a desirable change for me

Swf doesnt counter bamboozle bbq and plenty of other perks . New CI perk for instance basically allows you to go against decent swf without bringing any crutch addons etc. Perks that gets countered by swf needs to be reworked . For example survivors cant interact with each other as long as hex is standing.

I prefer the idea of it applying when you down a survivor for an entire match, but you can apply the stacks only when the totem is up.

I was speaking in hyperbole. Regardless, if we were to use "SWF counters this" as a justification for removing things from the game, we wouldn't have a game.

I personally like it as is , but I would be curious to see it tested as you're explaining just to see how it goes, I run the third seal usually only when I want to slug with a killer like billy per say that has a good snowball effect and I run thrill of the hunt, knockout and deer stalker with it but I only really make use of the perk when slugging TBH

I would rather have it make survivors blind for X time after an hit and remove the totem mechanic tbh

Wait what survs can remove blind efect by heal them self like SC?
0 -
Well, like I said, the second one is Doc's, not mine.
0 -
He means if we went through with the second version, survivors should be able to remove the effect by healing.

The problem is you have to use the "swf counters everything" when it comes to most things and blindness is one those at the top as it really only affects solo players.
If the devs truly want to try and close the gap why would they buff something which in turn increases it?
Its never going to be easy and maybe the third seal needs a completely new idea attached to it.

Make it a non hex perk and have the blindness effect remove survivor hud and for 60/80/100 seconds after each hit.
