A friend of mine is having an issue with ability tests; whenever she presses her space bar, it takes 1 to 2 seconds before it works. I had the same problem, but I can't remember how I fixed it."

    Could be different reasons, can’t really tell from a distance.

    first of all, is it a wireless keyboard? could be latency due to that, try wired or avoid any interferences such as smartphone nearby

    Does your friend have multiple input devices connected eg other controllers then those should be disconnected while playing.

    try turning off Vsync in the settings (that made a huge difference for me)
