What's going on with Sadako?
Can someone please tell me in simple terms how she is worse now?
I don't play her or much against her to know how it will feel for either side.
With such an outcry I had to ask.

Her condemned no longer spreads map wide, but instead within 16m of any powered TV.
Her TP cooldown is gone, but she has a timer of 10 seconds where if she teleports inside of that timer she doesnt spread condemned.
On PTB, Condemned would lock in place after a hook, and now it only locks in 2 stacks per hook
She'll be better than her original version when she released, but shes still going to be quite weak

The problem now, with the changes coming up, is tapes have no downside to take at all. They no longer break on hit and don't give you condemned or passive condemned.
In the PTB they added the ability to lock-in condemned on hook, all active TVs apply condemned on teleport and show their aura within 16m to the survivor, and no cooldown on her power. She was still only able to traverse active TVs so taking a tape is a strong counter to the changes since a survivor deactivating a TV turns it off for 70 seconds. It also only takes 1 second to take/deposit tapes, much faster than before plus the removal of tape breaking and gaining condemned on hit, and you don't even gain condemned holding the tape like old Sadako. In PTB, it felt fair and balanced compared to live and very few had issues with it, with most people I saw liking the changes on both survivor and killer.
Then BHVR with the patch coming soon added a hard cap to condemned hooking to 2 stacks per hook on the grounds of 'tunneling' when in reality, now you need to tunnel to keep them from cleansing any additional stacks they may have above the 2 when they were hooked since that isn't cleansed on hook. Additionally, a 10 second cooldown to teleporting spreading condemned, despite the fact that when taking a tape it deactivates the TV for 70s and the 16m radius around it for the condemned per teleport already (alongside the obvious upside of keeping her from teleporting to that TV), with NO downside to taking in the first place on the grounds of 'spamming' despite TVs turning off after a teleport for 45 seconds, so if anyone is gaining stacks from teleport spam it's those who aren't taking the 2-3 seconds to grab a tape from whatever generator they are on, coincidentally the time it roughly takes for Sadako to crawl out of a TV, demanifest and teleport again.

It's mainly because of the nerf from the PTB, which many didn't expect because they thought it gave her a better chance in the Trials. Some get very over-dramatic in response (embarrassingly so), but nevertheless there is a change which makes her less viable. I'd still say she'll be getting over 50% kills on her average, but depends on where it all lands.
Anyway, regardless of all the hot air, one of the mods on here has already confirmed that, although she will be going live in this state, they will be modifying her due to the outcry, so expect some changes in minor updates in the following weeks.

To be honest, I don't think there was anything over-dramatic about the response.
People were respectful, they didn't insult the developers or did anything unreasonable, they were just caught off-guard by a sudden change that no one asked for. These things hurt particularly deep when they happen to your favorite killer, I'd know.
Thankfully the feedback was heard, acknowledged and there will be changes happening to her.

Thankfully, still pretty bummed that we have to wait a couple of weeks though especially console players who mained her (including me) that couldn’t play the ptb

she is worse then her original release form.

I wouldnt say that, main reason why id because her way of spreading condemn is still way faster thanks to the lower cooldowns for the TVs themselves

between original ring drawing and old iri-tape that reset TV's alongside old tapes, her total power-level is significantly worse.

Yes, it is not an ideal situation by any means. But a couple of weeks are certainly better than waiting for years.

Except it really isn't if survivors grab tapes. The only viable way to do it with these changes are to corral them to TVs that haven't been turned off, IF survivors choose to use those loops in the first place. And even if you get a lot of stacks, only 2 are saved perk hook and the rest can be cleansed if you leave them alone off hook and go for someone else.
The only way survivors would gain condemned is if they ignore the TVs every 10 second condemned stack, which is probably extremely viable and they can just rush the gens and then cleanse.

So what, from D tier to B then now C?

Im some cases she's even worse than the original version. Addons overall are worse now, fast tp to spread condemned in chase is severely limited now, tapes don't give passive condemned and tapes can not be interrupted anymore.

Finally we can agree on something.

I am not happy with the changes simply because this is an unusual thing for them to do and in all honesty kind of defeated the whole purpose of the PTB which is to ensure that the content comes out to live in a way that the community is happy about. She is worse then she was originally from how I understand it. I want to try her but don't own her on my new account which I started after her previous rubbish rework. I will await the feedback of my fellow Sadoko mains. I just hope the devs make it right and once again another rework slot that could have gone to a killer in desperate need of it that could have been completly avoided if they had listened. Deja vu anyone. My condolences to anyone who played the PTB Sadoko and lost her again.

They had literally only give her original version with original addons and it would be far better than this.

Or just use the Ptb feedback and make improvements to the Ptb version. It was not hard to avoid this.

Really, the way condemned locked in after a hook seemed such an elegant mechanic and solution to make Sadako scary, while also forcing her to hook people. The hard cap to 2 feels again extremely tone deaf to what makes her tick and what her problems are. Of course, you can't make everything perfect, and neither should you, but all the excitement I felt to play her went down the drain and I feel zero incentive now to throw Sadako into my killer rotation. This hard cap is a real killjoy and party pooper ... oh well, at least Billy will be exciting to play, but Sadako is basically dead on arival again.

For some reason devs are stubborn to give her some chase power (moving through windows/pallets incorporeal, increased flicker duration/flicker interval time, etc) or stealth (remove lullaby), trying to play with condemn mechanic, although unsuccessful again.
She is either too opressive for newbies, or comletely useless. Strong players won't have problems either way.
To contend with strong players - she MUST have at least something for chase, or at least ambush.
To make her stronger, tapes should have some value and threat, required attention(pig's traps/wesker's deodorant/nox's emp). Now they don't, again.
Poor poor sadako....

We know behavior, I don‘t think that will happen!

I'd disagree that some comments I read online - not just on this forum, but places like YouTube - were overdramatic and some again going along the lines of "The devs clearly don't care" and such.
Certainly, feedback was needed (and there was some really good feedback given) but some comments were laughably ott. Those are the comments I'm aiming at, not the ones which were along the lines of "This is a bad idea, because...". It's not my intention to group everyone who was against it into the same soup pot.
