Should I go back?

For the last few days I've been pondering to come back to DBD.

Especially to see how the average survivor would treat a non camping, tunneling or slugging killer (most probably Oni).

I've done similar a few years ago and I would like to know what others think I would encounter in terms of survivor attitude and/or behaviour?

Or is the situation not as bad as many want to paint it, saying it's only ever tunneling, camping and more tunneling and my conduct wouldn't be a refreshing change from the average? (Not meant as an attack or trick but a honest question)

I have had good results most games. There will always be those special groups that will just type pure venom at you after a loss, or even one/two kills. The majority of survivors I run into have been great. I also do not tunnel as I feel personally it only takes away from learning truly learning the killer side.

if you’re a killer the game is the best it’s ever been. also survivors are having such an awful time that on the rare ocasions that they win they earn the right to t bag

    DO NOT PLAY SADAKO

I try my best to avoid strategies that are frowned upon, because I know how it feels to be that one survivor who gets tunneled out of the game before they even had the chance to play.

So your experience will probably be similar to mine: either some rare "ggs" in post game chat, or silence.

Tunneling is a problem these days, and it is good to see any killer who doesn't do it from the start. The lack of complaints / toxicity after the match probably reflects that.

Killer Is awesome. Got an ongoing killstreak with Bubba.

Unless your an Alan Wake diehard fan, I wouldn't touch Survivor.

    lmao no enjoy your freedom

the state of the game sucks rn, nobody on the survivor side wants to complete the objective and killers seem to think their objective is to see how much they can make gen progress go down

Surv is a shitshow. I also came back to play some games recently but I don't mind anymore.

I just go into match and am fine with any outcome. No expectations for surv role anymore.

If you want some chill time play killer, its the most easiest thing right now, soloQ and survivor overall is a pain, horrible experience which no dev want to hear or try to fix, so play killer, tunnel, camp, make other lives miserable, its pretty easy.

I do that exactly and get same reactions. Also I throw in a given escape from time to time if the survivors weren't annoying

Ignore what anybody says about the game, whether it's good or bad, and try it yourself.

That's the way to know if coming back is worth it.

I'd probably suggest waiting for mid chapter fixes, there are a few issues with the latest patch that might annoy a tad....

I shouldn't smile... but I can practically feel your rage vibrating through my screen 🤣

I'm quietly hoping the kick back BHVR have had on this will putlshbthem to revert back to PTB Sadako at the very least. 😁

Can't speak for others, but my games have been pretty chill for the most part.

I'd say once the first bugfix patch rolls out, give it a shot and judge for yourself if it's worth coming back to or not.

Im sweatng the entire day already....

Shes just one thing. Weak. Her power is awfully undertuned. Im playing at my very best (at least i think i do, after watching my gameplay again that i recorded) and i barely get value out of her against decent survivors.

The counterplay is too strong for a power this weak.

Seems like you were the only one that understood the intend behind my question ("what kind of reactions can I expect if I go back playing killer now with all these complaints?").

Good to know that nothing has really changed and despite all the complaining about unfun killer strategies people still haven't learned to encourage the ones that avoid those by ACTIVE positive feedback.

And therefore me coming back would be pointless and only a drop in the bucket.

That might be unlikely to happen. I have no doubt many players will be grateful to get a killer who isn't tunneling at 5 gens, but at best the post game chat will have some ggs, or silence.

At least there will be no toxicity, that is always a good thing.

Sounds like your just outright bad to me if you genuinely think that. You might have to say what your exactly talking about. The 15%(being generous) of the time a full squad of solos have to play or literally any other game.

But hey people group S tier killers with F tier killers and 4 solos with 4 man swf like they are the same thing. Even though 4 solos can actually oppose the killer regardless of what you think it's just matchmaking doesn't allow that to happen often.

Best way to find out is just play some games and see how you go

In terms of complaints as someone who only slugs rarely and nothing else, you won't see much hate. It's typically just nothing as gIV said. But I also get a 2k-4k most of my games so I'm unlikely to see the super toxic stuff reserved for a 0k.
