No Lunar New Year event ??
I'm watching the live stream, and there has been no mention of the Lunar New Year event, which has been taking place every year. It would be very unusual for you to present the upcoming Lunar cosmetics (which you did), without any word on the event and the gameplay, even if it's the same as last year.
So, could we please get a confirmation from the Devs on whether we'll have the Lunar New Year event or not? (including unlockable Lunar rewards like heads or torsos)

I've been SO looking forward to it. The red toolboxes, the chinese firecrackers, the envelopes offerings, unlockable lunar cosmetics... 😭

Imagine not holding a Lunar New Year event on the coolest year of them all: year of the dragon ! This year won't come back for 12 more years btw!
Like, it baffles me so much. Why would they remove such a cool event?? Was DBD suffering from success that much that the devs looked for ways to decrease the player count? I honestly don't get it.
I grinded a lot during the double BP / shards double weeks, and was gonna take a few days of a break, and then play again for the Lunar New Year event. But now that the event is not happening, I have no reason to play for at least a week. The new tome will be open for 70 days, so I can take a lot of time with it.
There is nothing incentivizing me to play this week. Year of the DRAGON! They could have made the Lunar event spectacular and better than ever before. And instead they killed it. That's beyond sad. A significant part of DBD has just got removed.

it seems they really hate having more players. i cannot understand the reasoning to having lights out gamemode in the lunar new year event slot. they better have something amazing planned after lights out ends or people will go back to being bored again.

Lights Out seems cool, but it cannot replace the Lunar New Year Event. It was so much fun interacting with envelopes. I loved getting red toolboxes and firecrackers. :( Now characters like Gabriel or Nicolas will never get those....
Not to mention, we are not getting any male lunar cosmetics?? Like don't get me wrong, the Yun-Jin and Kate Lunar cosmetics look absolutely stunning, I love them so much. But no new Lunar cosmetics for male survivors??? And no new Lunar cosmetics for killers???

yeah, this whole february looks like a bust. i don't think anything's motivating me to play other than hillbilly changes and those aren't good enough imo cause i don't want to play hillbilly 24/7. sad month ahead of us

I created an account on the forums just for this. How is there no Lunar New Year event??? Is the game going downhill? Why wouldn't we have this as mentioned by someone previously, the year of the dragon, are we not hosting this?

Yeah, there's quite a few of awful changes that came with today's update
- RIP solo q with the new oppressive Grim Embrace
- RIP M1 killers with the destroyed STBFL
- RIP Lunar New Year Event on the COOLEST year of the Chinese Zodiac - Dragon
- Twins have been bugged for almost 2 months , and the devs have not fixed their bugs

The devs have not commented yet, not given any justification and explanation on why they removed the event. I wouldn't be surprised if they removed the Anniversary event as well, or at least simply stopped making anniversary offerings. Like, what is the point of introducing cool new stuff (like Lights Out) if they're gonna delete something else that we've enjoyed every year so far.... :(

I heard this too in the stream and can't believe is. This game becomes more and more trash. the only good thing are the beautiful events. and now there should be NO Lunars New Year Event this year? Instead there is a stupid 'darkness' event where killers have no terror radious and the red light isn't good to see? really? for me it's time to make a long rest now von dbd. It's only get worse and worse. so sad. but thanks god there are a lot other nice games xD

This begs a question... are ALL events we know of getting removed, in favor of new limited time modifiers....?
Maybe 2024 is the year when we kiss goodbye the Anniversary Event (including the offerings), Halloween event and Bone Chill. What if they are removing ALL of these events?
I really can't think of a reason why BHVR is seemingly wanting to get rid of their players. It really doesn't make sense.

Please actually do an ounce of research before posting. the game mod thing isn't replacing anything, they just aren't doing the event. they're doing cosmetics for it so theyre not missing much but the in game parts. If you think they'd remove THE ANNIVERSARY then you really need to think critically.

They are also not "trying to get rid of players"- it is ultimately a handful of in game items and some bloodpoints. We still get the cosmetics, we still get everything else. They are clearly looking at putting more effort into events (see Winter and Halloween) so to say they are actively going to remove them because we aren't getting a couple firecrackers is bizarre.

And that's in what I'm most interested: the ingame event, items, bps ^^. skins not all and not the fun. the fun is to play the event with it's items and get a bit of farming for the weeks after. this game gets more and more trash imo and they seem to want it this way. that's sad.

So much for farming those cool event items I guess. There's really no reason not to at least host last year's event if nothing new was made for this year.

They should at least just throw in last years Lunar event to give us something. It doesn't have to be new but it is the year of the Dragon. It is a complete waste to not have the game run such a popular event during such an iconic year. BHVR please reconsider your decision on this.

IT'S THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON TOO! Literally the luckiest year! Only comes once every 12 years. I am going to be mad if they don't do it.

If they arent going to have the event then at least refund us for the offering that we cant use anymore. I still have a bunch of Red Envelopes from last years event, was hoping Id be able to use them this year. If theyre going to retire the item, then get it out of my inventory.
