the same mistake 4 times in a row, (yes, it´s about hillbilly´s cooldown again)
alien: no cooldown for missing and hitting: nerfed/fixed to make alien suffers a bit for not playing well enough
chucky: almost no cooldown for missing and hitting: nerfed (if i remember correctly) (still too strong)
iri tag blight: no cooldown at all: nerfed because it was actually so broken
billy: no cooldown for missing and hitting: already strong, but they buffed the basekit cooldown, buffed the cooldown reduce addons
why???? what´s the point?? 4 times in a row dude, the same mistake, i´m not joking it´s not funny, billy is amazing, everything besides his non-existent cooldown feels good, but it is a huge problem, he´s an INSTA down killer, he´s not like nemesis and legion, both of them can´t actually down a survivor with their power without hitting them 4 trillion times (but they have a 2x longer cooldown for some reason and have no addons to reduce it)
look that:
i literally can´t do nothing about it, he´s on my back, he missed 3 times and look, he´s still on my back, and he´s not even using both cooldown addons
i just want to show how bad it looks like

That looks fine honestly? The cooldown reduction is limited-time and isn't even majorly significant without addons. The cooldown addons are likely getting nerfed to not work while in Overdrive.
You healed in a deadzone against an instadown killer and then ran into a haybale. You made several mistakes in this clip (and still managed to keep him busy for a while considering the situation you were in).

i was just playing for fun, i wanted those nasty autodidact stacks and i didn´t expected him to go back to the hook instantly (i´m not SWFing), the problem is: i literally can´t get out of the dead zone even if he misses 3 times, it looks bad dude, and i think hillbilly is fun to play against most of the time, if a blight miss the rush you can at least do something about it

The difference is that Billy isn't realistically expected to hit M2 attacks that are outside of melee/curve range, so he needs a low cooldown so he can use his power for zoning. Billy's turning speed outside of the curve window is AWFUL, and it's way too easy for survivors to avoid his chainsaw outside of curve range.
Those other killers on your list are realistically expected to hit with their power, so having a harsh cooldown makes sense.
15 -
Remember, people defended Alien and preached how balanced she was. Apparently when you look into the future, when killers get used to the reworks/new killer, it isn't plausible and you will get name-called and provided with skill issue comments. I mean the amount of times Xeno players told me to window bait as if that was proper counterplay...
18 -
a good billy trying to hit the survivor shouldn´t be missing m2 if he´s literally hugging the survivor in a full deadzone, his power is already good for zoning without the non existent cooldown, he doesn´t need a 9 minutes stun, just enough ´´stun´´ time to the survivor actually have something to do, if the survivor is in a dead zone you shouldn´t be missing
3 -
you were guys healing under the hook ,your fault
5 -
🤦♂️
3 -
At least its better than the atrocity that was his overheat version. I agree with most people. Keep his current cooldown but rework the cooldown and the 4 overdrive addons that do absolutely nothing. Itd give him more options while fixing this issue. (Because the overheat dissipation addons you get the affect of by just tapping the saw for a second)
2 -
The cool downs werent the problem in that clip. You guys were trying to reset in a dead zone so no matter how many saws the billy missed you would still most likely end up going down even with old cooldown.
7 -
I do think that the OP is right in this case. When you dodge a billy saw, or the billy makes a mistake, they should be punished for it, and lose some distance on the survivor. This is fine, because billy has the mobility to catch back up, but it's not complete cheese because in the state he is now, you CANNOT escape him unless you have a pallet or a map offering (lmfao)
5 -
exactly, for me the rest of his kit is 100% fine
0 -
Regardless of a deadzone or not.
This killer missed a lot of times. So much so in fact that they are still rewarded with a down, there is 0 counter play other than "not being there"
At least with other killers you dont have a one shot mechanic+speed behind this. They will have to catch at base speed with a one shot (ghost face, Bubba) or they will move fast but not have a one shot (nurse, blight, wesker)
The problem is having all this forgiveness in missing 4x and just having 0 counterplay WITH THAT in mind. Which is pretty broken.
7 -
You are talking about the same company that after what, 3 or 4 years of blight with the whole community asking nerfs for him, they literally BUFFED HIM. what did you expect? a proper and balanced rework? close but no my friend
10 -
Agreed. Survivors gain zero distance after a chainsaw miss, therefore Billy can zone basically infinitly. Its like BHVR holding the killers hand at that point and saying "Dont worry, you can be as aweful as you want and miss as many times as you want, they wont get absolutly nowhere."
5 -
You literally had so much time to get away but for some reason you just stood at the wall waiting for him to get closer to you. But all seriousness I think his cooldown addons need a nerf and probably revert back the cooldown to 3 seconds.
5 -
3 seconds felt horrible in his overheat state. Its back to what it used to be so id rather they keep it at is and scrap the cooldown addons. Just my opinion. It might not be so bad with his new version just some overheat ptsd.

Dai amigão, beleza? You were healing in a deadzone, without anything to work with(no window or pallet), you were expected to take a hit, which was punished with an instadown Killer.
Billy is now more in pair with the current strong Killers squad. You got punished for your bad decision, and that's just about it; I don't think the changes on him would change what happened; you were going down no matter what.
There were a lot of mistakes on your part too.
- Ignored chainsaw noise and kept healing anyway; only stopped because you looked at him. If you had stopped healing 1s before, you would have more time to plan your run.
- You should've been downed in the first 3 seconds of the video; you got lucky it didnt hit.
- At 00:14, if you knew the pallet was gone, you could've left the loop, since at 00:08 on the right you can see another point of interest.
- 00:21, if you didn't know the pallet was used, again, you should be downed anyway. You were just delaying the inevitable, which, in the end, was you getting stuck in the hay.
- 00:18, he could've curved here but for some reason didn't, prob he thought you left the loop, but for a surprise, you didnt!
"bla blah Killer x needs 3 hits before he downs you" Each Killer has different powers; some are strong and other weaker. Nemesis can hit you through pallets/windows at a ranged distance but needs to land the infection first, and Legion is the only Killer who can injure 4 Survivors in a short time; but can't down them with their power(5 hit only). They have justified cooldowns for their powers, and so has Billy.
4 -
Wdym regardless of dead zone? If there was a tile they would have taken way longer to get that down. The survivors made a huge mistake in the video which is healing in a deadzone on an open map against a billy but now they're asking for nerfs because they couldn't think ahead.
6 -
Someone clearly has not understood the overall issue. As if it is about if there was a pallet missing or not.
And apart from that, THE ENTIRE MAP is a deadzone with usually 8-10 pallets on a fresh seed.
5 -
aoba
I know I could have played better, I wasn't paying the slightest attention to the game, but that's not the point, look at 0:03, do you think if he had been a little more patient I would have had a chance of surviving? ? and I waited on the C wall because he had the overdrive activated, I didn't think I could avoid the saw again (he´s 13m/s and it´s better be in a empty loop than in a full deadzone)
the comparison I made with nemesis and legion is because the killers are not consistent, it doesn't make sense for an insta down killer to be able to recover that quickly (bubba for example), well back in the day they nerfed the pig, increasing her terror radius because she is 4.6 and they would like to have consistency
(and remember that billy have lopro chains to break the pallet and hit the survivor at the same time), also, nemesis can´t really hit through because of the crouch tech
0 -
I literally said outside of curve distance. Literally no one is saying his power is unreliable at melee range.
The problem is that if his cooldown is too large, then he might as well not even try to ever M2 survivors that are outside of curve range, which is super boring.
3 -
oh my bad
that´s what i said, the cooldown needs to be big enough to the survivor be able to create distance, billy is literally 13m/s in overdrive, but not painfully big like old trapper trapping anymation, or old pig crouch animation or something like that
0 -
please guys, don't be disrespectful to each other, I just talked about my experience with hillbilly, it's not like I want all billy players to die and the character to go back to the state he was before, I just want they are consistent in this balancing issue, it has been 5 or 4 months since the alien was released, they received a lot of feedback about how the window of opportunity to react was tiny, why they keep doing this? btw billy is so fun to play as
0 -
idk why so many people pointed out where you were resetting, does it make the no cooldown power okay all of a sudden? there are killers that will punish you harder for being in a dead zone sure but non existent cooldowns are never healthy.
4 -
Because if you miss 4 times with any killer that I can think of you can actually get away, or there is not a one shot mechanic even if you are zoned.
If this video was Oni whiffing 4x ... you would already be half way across the map
If this video was Bubba whiffing 4x... he probably would have to resort to M1, I dont even know if you would have enough charges to whif 4x
For the non one shotters that miss this many times eventually they would hit you, but this provides you a window to get some distance.
So regardless if this is a dead zone or not, missing this many times on any killer in the game, except for Billy here, you have an extremely high chance of getting some distance/away.
Here with billy you just dont care about any of that. Hope this helps clarify.
3 -
That is what you are asking for though. Xeno's pickrate tanked after the cooldown nerf, and Blight's iri is garbage after the cooldown nerf (especially if it's bugged, and if it's intended to be worse than it currently is). And Chucky's nerf didn't really do much, because it's still pretty much a guaranteed hit on a giant cooldown (which I think is super boring, but other people seem to like it).
If Billy is forced to only make M2 attacks in melee/curve range, and is forced to just walk around and M1 otherwise, it would be super boring. He loses so much distance from his charge times and cooldown times, that if you make it worse, then he's literally better off just walking around most of the time. And if the cooldown gets worse, then people might not even try to M2 unless they 100% know it will hit, which will kill the fun for them. Billy players like to take risks, and go for goofy hits that probably won't work. But that won't happen if they get punished too much for missing. That's not even getting to the point where his power is so obnoxious to control in the curve window, that many players will just botch hits just from that, and punishing them with long cooldowns will kill their fun too.
6 -
This is completely normal. If you look back at my Xeno discussion, this is nothing compared to that. Just point out flaws in people's arguments and let them try to realize the truth about this overtuned killer.
1 -
We just can't have fun killers without long cooldowns and punishments for even small mistakes, right?
5 -
Xeno's pickrate is still solid. It tanked because people realized how overpowered his ability was and obviously bought her. When the discussion of a nerf came to place, they got angry that they might've just wasted their auric cells and refused to see the issue that got them all those 4ks. It dropped because the killer became balanced, as all things do - like perk combos.
Asking for a slightly longer cooldown is nothing as crazy as you described it. Saying he would be better off walking made me chuckle because it's really not that serious. A slight increase is all we are asking for, not even how much it was previously.
1 -
The thing about Xeno is that his cooldown was never short. The numbers were always that his cooldown was longer and had stronger slowdown than literally every other killer. It was just bugged to not apply the movement penalty which made it seem like it had no cooldown. Then bhvr fixed the bug and added a further nerf on top of it and now dealing with turrets just feels super bad because of the extra unnecessary slowdown he has to suffer.
5 -
so billy is boring and unplayable without the insta recover? oh i see, you probably save more than 10 seconds using your chansaw to catch up to a survivor far away, deathslinger literally have the longest painful and horrendous punishment for missing in the game, and he´s still super fun, people still go for crazy shots (he´s also 4.4, billy with chainsaw is 13.0 now), not being the super zoning god will not kill the character, he´s still a 13 m/s pallet eater insta downer anti-loop ultimate mobility killer with a high skill ceilling
2 -
Yea the cd was literally my only feedback during the ptb, which to be fair they did do some nerfs to the cd addons even if minor. Nearly a full second cut off from his cd was just too much and that's with out taking in account for addons

You've got to be joking.

Ok but imagine if you were against a bubba in that deadzone, assuming he did not bump (which this billy did not do) he would just down you since he is obviously much harder to mess up than billy. Also unlike say alien, billy has to spend time charging his saw so even against a miss he still has to waste time to charge up and hit you again.
0 -
- Bubba in that same exact scenario would get the down first try because its a dead zone with no window
- Oni would also get the down relatively fast because he can just zone with demon dash and its not hard to actually hit the person
This post is just for the sake of complaining because they played poorly.
8 -
Not sure what you are trying to say.
Billy missed 4 times and you cant make any distance in this scenario.
If you were to put X killer and have them miss 4x in this same scenario you would make distance as a survivor.
If you want to dismiss everything as complaining than I guess there's nothing further to discuss with you?
0 -
I am unsure what you are trying to say.
Billy in the video missed 4x and the survivor made no distance.
Put any killer in the "missed 4x" situation and you will make distance as a survivor.
If you want to dismiss everything and call it complaining then there's nothing further to discuss and I am unsure if that approach in a public forum is the right call. You do you
2 -
didn't look that crazy at all. You made some distances each time and even made it to a long wall loop. just was no pallet there. (not your fault of course)
0 -
Billy was extremely powerful pre-buff, you just had to take time and learn him. No reason to have buffed him more. I guess we’ll see a Nurse buff soon.
0 -
...no he wasn't...he was c tier at best. Had a mechanic which punished him for using his power. Was extremely map depenant. Had addons that didnt even synergize with his power. Look into anything involving him before this patch and youd see that. He was bottom 5 for a reason. I dont get where people get this "he was fine in overheat stage" like bruh he was only used by 5 billy mains for curving games. Literally the general perception is he had a higher skill cieling than nurse. For none of her power.
3 -
I agree. I replied to a post recently comparing Bubba (my main) to Billy and highlighted how ridiculous the new Billy is. However, people seem to think he is balanced now.
For reference Billy:
-Has no cooldown.
-Has overdrive.
-Has no tantrum when he bumps, if he does bump, he can almost instantly use his saw again.
-He can eat through pallets and keep his chainsaw going.
-He can zoom across the map and get someone down within the first 10 seconds of the game.
-And he can stand just outside of anti face camp, feathering his chainsaw and waiting for someone to unhook, while making his power more powerful with overcharge.
Billy definitely has it good right now, and it is evident when we compare him to Bubba.
1 -
I mean at least if they buff bubba up theyll be equal eventually. Since he needs some help not just with comparing to billy. But before he whiped the floor with billy. After the patch where they nerfed billy and buffed him up. He became way higher tier than billy for 3 years. And Oni sweeped them both.
0 -
In a single player game, sure.
In a game where the other players' skill has to matter as well, and you shouldn't just repeatedly get chance after chance after chance to one-shot them without penalty, no.
3 -
Its a literaly dead zone. Any killer could miss around 3 times and still get a hit. Its just unreasonable to ask for a nerf to certain addons because the other side didnt enforce the simple safety net of not healing in a dead zone. Maybe if the example was better but no matter what the survivor was going to go down there even with old billy CD.
1 -
The thing that makes Billy different from those other killers is that his power is all he has. Alien has tunnels, Chucky has stealth, Billy has the saw and that's it. If you increased the cooldown on a miss you'd also be weakening his map mobility.

what about try to think for 1 second: this is not my first game against a hillbilly, this is not my first game as hillbilly, this is not the first time i try to loop a hillbilly, this is not the first time i´m in a dead zone, this is not the first time i´m healing a survivor
and now, stop ignoring what really matters about the video, how many distance i made for each chainsaw cancel? that´s what matters, when he bumps at 0:08 i MAYBE had time to go for the main building without getting downed (but i was not paying attention at all), but when he cancels the chainsaw he´s not slowed down, he recovers in less than 2.5 seconds, he can charge his chainsaw faster because of the overdrive, he´s basekit the fastest killer in the game (he´s also 4.6), he´s probably one of the most fun killers in the game imo, no need for that pseudo insta saw
1 -
I'm so used to them catering to bad killers and most of them having no punishments for playing bad that I honestly don't feel that annoyed by Billy's current iteration.
The worst part is how many deadzones there are in modern map design, worst trend the community and devs ever pushed for. So many maps are just worthless.
6 -
Survivors should complain about Nurse and Blight, Any decent survivor can have a good chase against Billy but as always survivors mistakes get fun killers nerfed.
1 -
Billy is in a perfect state right now, I see no reason to nerf him just because he's a good killer now survivors can't disrespect anymore like in op video not taking his power seriously.
2 -
It is also a 1v4 game. If simple errors make chasing just 1 survivor too difficult then playing against all 4 becomes horrible. That's what old Hillbilly was, why he was so bad, and why nobody played him.
