Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Lights out is too killer sided

As the title says, I think the mode is far too killer sided to be fun. There's no anti-tunnel or anti-camp perks so killer will just hide in the darkness near the hook and then camp and tunnel one person out every time. You can't even see the anti-camp bar (if it's even a thing in that mode). And why do survivors not see gen auras but killers do? Seeing hooks is fine since survivors see hooked people and hook spawns can be so random but killers shouldn't see gens either since you can still hear the sound and they're generally always in the same places. They should have to find the gens also or survivors should see the auras too especially since there's no anti-tunnel or anti-camp.

Played the game mode today for the first time for 6 matches and in everyone the first one hooked got camped and/or tunneled to death. And without perks like kindred or killer having a terror radius or not seeing the anti-camp bar, you can't even tell if you're getting camped. I hope if they make more modes like this or bring it back later that they think about that next time...

Certainly, this mode favors the Killer, while the Survivor is clearly at a disadvantage.

As for how much of a disadvantage Survivor is, the Survivor side is at such a disadvantage that people who usually practice top-level play as killers want to play Survivor.

In other words, for players who normally play Killer, Lights Out brings about as much pain as playing Killer.

And in Japan, it is hailed as the best event for intermediate and advanced players. This is because it is a challenging mode that tests your basic skills in dbd.

People play Lights Out like they normally play DBD. Sure, it needs some adjustments and balancing and you're absolutely right, it favors the killer atm, but the main problem is the lack of mental flexibility of a lot of players. It's not the same usual DBD, it's different.

It's meant to be a horror mode. Movie-esque. Check the vibes, sure some tweaks maybe removing some auras but not much imo.

    Too killer sided?

Funny how the power role actually is the power role when there aren't any BS perks to pull you out of the fire with second chances, cancelled out chases and straight-up invincibility.

And fyi, the killer gets to see gen auras because otherwise they couldn't patrol/protect anything worth a damn (how that's not obvious idk).
