Well so much for the Thanatophobia buff...
HORVATH - GAME DESIGNER | ANSWER
Barbecue and Chili and Hex: Ruin had adjustments to their Tier 1 and tier 2 values to make them more similar and appealing to their Tier 3 counterparts, the Tier 3 of these perks should be the same as they are currently live, Thanataphobia’s value changes will be reduced for this patches release to 3/3.5/4% stacking up to 12/14/16% instead of 4/5/6% going up to 16/20/24%.
Live - 6/9/12/15%
PTB - 6/12/18/24%
New values when the patch drops - 4/8/12/16
So it's 2% weaker on the first survivor, 1% weaker with 2 injured, equal with 12 and 1% stronger with 4 people injured.
Since it was mostly 1-2 people injured/dying/hooked throughout the game this perk is now worthless I think it's safe to say.
Back to Ruin?

LOL thana actually got nerfed lmao
This is hilarious.
23 -
So they actually nerfed thanatophobia if 1, 2 or 3 survivors are injured. This perk right now is already trash. In the PTB it was actually decent but now they nerfed it. Doesn't make sense to me.
9 -
Wow. I knew it was good to be true. Pretty good job so far, game is killer sided btw.
6 -
I find that a really asinine decision to revert that change. I love the concept and design of it...but I was only using it on Freddy for a "Slow everything down" build...with the PTB changes I was going to experiment using it on other Killers...but now, what's the point?
6 -
Killers too strong! Nerf Thanataphobia and Fire Up!
7 -
24% was probably a bit too strong, but 20-22% for 4 injured survivors would've sounded good. 5/10/15/20, or 6/11/16/20, or something.
0 -
Can't have killers getting buffs fam, especially after destroying the endgame with the new DS.
7 -
wait... rly?
oh ffs devs ._.
5 -
Thana should of been kept. It's not like we can load up with 10 perks at once...
Ruin is almost needed at high ranks. Thana could of replaced that.
Maybe the Thana, Sloppy, Ruin, Nurses would of been ruthless? lol
2 -
Next ruin nerf. When game starts, ruin explodes by itself.
3 -
Too late. I bet they already think it is an awesome idea.
0 -
I don't understand how everyone is reading this as a nerf. Thanataphobia got buffed big time as far as I can see:
Live - 6/9/12/15%
PTB - 6/12/18/24%
Because:
12% on PTB is a higher percent than 6% on Live
18% on PTB is a higher percent than 9% on Live
24% on PTB is a higher percent than 15% on Live
Clearly that's a large, significant buff.
2 -
Its under the Q&A
Thanataphobia’s value changes will be reduced for this patches release to 3/3.5/4% stacking up to 12/14/16% instead of 4/5/6% going up to 16/20/24%.
0 -
pretty much what happens at high ranks anyway..thing lasts like 30 secs
2 -
True.
1 -
Biggest mistake they've made
in a whilesince Legion, but I'm too happy about Decisive Strike being gone to really care.2 -
where can i find the new changes?
0 -
I think they should set Thanatophobia's stacks to 3/4/5% penalty for each suffering survivor, so:
- 3/4/5% with 1 survivor wounded;
- 6/8/10% with 2 survivors wounded;
- 9/12/15% with 3 survivors wounded;
- 12/16/20% with 4 survivors wounded.
It would be a slightly buff, useful to make Thanatophobia quite decent.
4 -
Was looking forward to the change as I have the perk on most of my killers, but I guess it will continue to collect loadout dust.
So very sad
1 -
I knew this would happen, they didn't even say why they didn't like it or why it was taken out. They said they'll add in a new buff for it along with buffs to other perks, probably in the mid-chapter but still, I was so excited for this.
3 -
Yea I was gonna say this. 5% per injured survivor would be an overall buff. You lost 1% on the first injured survivor but get more for each additional one. I really don't get why it couldn't be done this way.
If anything just make the 6% per injured survivor debuff apply to gens and not healing. That's where the value of Thana comes in anyway.
0 -
lol

The problem is it sounds like a lot od things were its a case of "we'd like to do this one day...." But they get so busy with everything else that the day never comes.
Look at DS, its taken forever for that to get changed and that was much more important.
2 -
-
How about they try the self care from the PTB with the new thana?
0 -
Naw I'll one up ya with a super survivor main perk that we'll all love.
Thick Skin - When equipped you take 1 extra hit from the killer (on top of all other protective buffs)
Oof! Later Bubba and camping killers!
By the way if this perk becomes a real thing please dont blame me
1 -
That's bullshit. Not only did you not buff Thana, you nerfed it. But at the same time Ruin buff. This is ridiculous. So you prioritize? It was one of my favorite perks, but now it's rubbish.
2 -
they have some really weird ideas, they wanna punish a tunneling killer with a 3 seconds stun..uhmm excuse me " ENDURING " + 3 seconds ?? hello ?
also thanotophobia really needed to stay as it was in PTB .
oh well

The DbD Developers are people of great power and great mystery. Their power is exceeded only by its mystery, and strangely, their mystery is exceeded only by their power.
Honestly their trains of thoughts make absolutely no sense most of the time. It would be interesting to see what's going on in their heads...
1 -
The community has spoken. At least leave Thana as it is with 6/9/12/15. Its better than 4/8 since you will only have 1-2 survivors injured/hooked most of the time.
0 -
I'm telling you, after the DS rework they want to nerf a killer perk to avoid another review bomb.
1 -
Does anyone know what their reasoning was behind it not getting the buff? They may come out with new numbers with the next PTB or a reworking of sorts, I dunno.
0 -
But if they wanted to please survivors everyone knows the one perk they would have to addres to do that is NOED. Its always been the most controversial.
Plus at least ds is anti-tunneling now, and kindred is buffed to be more anti-camped, along with killers losing even more points now for camping.
1 -
Nobody knows why they announced such a strong buff in the first place, nobody knows why it was taken away.
Did anyone even try it out in the ptb? Most people used plague and it wasnt a good perk for her.
0 -
I think they realized what a disaster it'd be with Legion as currently is and the new killers and perks would make it basically a Legion/Nurse/Billy/Spirit only game.
Also if this went live and then they added in secondary objectives like gas/parts they'd have to nerf it back down which means rewriting everything again.
Hopefully that means that the Legion changes will hit the PTB in the next few weeks along with possibly the Freddy rework and secondary objectives retry.
1 -
Hahahaha I knew it.
I already thought, "what a killer buff, really?".
But nah, as always, a disguised nerf.
Trust me, mates.
Decisive is next to be buffed.
A 100% on that.
1 -
the numbers don’t add...
first they say the numbers will be reduced to 3/3.5/4 but then they add totals 4/8/12/16... what’s the current % in the game?
1 -
I mean notice how meta it would be with sloppy butcher and it would take survivors basically a whole minute to self care once, it’s would’ve been unbalanced and broken if that went live.
2 -
Yeah, it's a darn shame there's not some perk coming out that let's you partially heal yourself while healing another survivor.
1 -
Wow thanatophobia at full power and sloppy butcher might become a counter selfcare?
What should survivors do? Medikits, instantheals, getting healed ny teammates although that will stop that teammate from rushing gens. Naahhh better nerf thanatophobia.
Dunno how i mentioned it already but stop assuming that thanatophobia is always at full power. Most of that slow healing comes from selfcare anyways.
3 -
It also went through a name change: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/51684/q-a-on-chapter-11-march-14th-2019
The answers given to Frombrokedownpalace & heroiq.
Just kidding of course.

Yes bring that medkit i'm sure killers won't just bring Franklin's and remove it from your use, they also won't ever run Nurses.
It's almost as if logic clearly didn't already say killers do that to survivors thus making your suggestion completely invalidated.
0 -
It was REVERTED because healing time is already too long.
If they increased its potency and had it affect everything but heal speed it would be great
0 -
They said they were reverting it for this patch not leaving it and never looking at it again. From the Q&A it looks like they want to take a look at healing and Thana together.
HORVATH - GAME DESIGNER | ANSWER
We have reverted the Thanataphobia buff for this patch and we will be looking to update the different healing components together in addition to Thanataphobia in a future patch.
They also answered another question that shows they want to look at healing items.
HORVATH - GAME DESIGNER | ANSWER
We are thinking of changing the insta-heals in our game into heals over time instead. This means that instead of instantly being healed a health state, you will initiate the heal and it will take several seconds before you are fully healed. Imagine the opposite of Deep wounds, if you are hit before the heal over time finishes, you will be considered injured, and knocked down into the dying state.
Not everything will always make it in from the patch, or be the same as the ptb. That's the reason for a ptb. Look at the changes they tried for DS before finally deciding on this one. And the hatch change they tried before not putting it through and wanting to keep looking at it. Sometimes things take time, doesn't mean the perk will remain like it currently is.
0 -
Yeah it takes time. Soon.
0 -
Damn one of the only perks that awards killers for not tunneling and camping. Well than, how laughable. It's even a nerf.
1 -
Which is something I suggested a ways back which was a time based heal ie you had to channel it in order to use the item.
0 -
You have to look at it from the Killers perspective aswell. How long does it take to injure all 4 Survivors? Certainly more than 1 minute on average.
Then you have to consider: 4 hits to have every Survivor injured. How good is that compared to 4 hits on the same Survivor? I can kill a Survivor with 4 hits if I tunnel them. The result is a 3v1 and I don't even need a perk for that result.
Killers need rewards for switching targets, otherwise there is absolutely no point in doing so. Nerfing the only perk that does that is absolute nonsense.
1 -
It's a good change, rather than them becoming useless. It can still be used in a chase but killers don't lose all momentum. It will be interesting to see it in action though.
