Cold Take: Background Player should be nerfed
This perk is overtuned beyond belief in my opinion, combined with COL and it gets even more ridiculous, it should not be possible for survivors who are laughably far out of position to be able to functionally teleport in front of you and blind you
Revert it back to 150% like every other exhaustion perk, BGP never needed a buff in the first place and giving it this much speed is absurd

there’s basically no counterplay to people getting pallet saves with this perk
just hope the person is terrible at the game and throws it early?

Yep, essentially the only counter to Background Player is its user.
Its movement speed bonus should probably go back to 150%.

Nah, it's also stupid, but in other way. Have an opportunity to easy save literally after every down should not be the case. One successful rescue can already cost the game to killer.

I don’t think it would be a huge deal as long as the speed is low enough that saves can still be countered. The current version is dumb because there isn’t enough counterplay and for a pallet save the survivor can cover 24m during the pickup animation which is too big of a radius to have reasonable counterplay. When the speed was 150 I didn’t feel that way.

It still was strong perk with 150%, killer just have some opportunity to counter it, i agree. But it doesn't mean that you should be able to deny hook literally after every down. It doesn't prolong the chase like other exhaustion, it literally denies whole chase on killer part, so by any means it shouldn't have less exhaustion timer.

I would go as far as to say that Background Player is the strongest perk that survivors have if used by a good SWF.

Stop labeling your arguments as a “Cold Take” and acting like you’re right.
Background Player is fine as is. It’s not as strong as Sprint Burst nor Lithe. Survivors doing anything other than gens is a win in my book. It’s like complaining about flashlight saves. First you put on Lightborn and now you wonder why gens are going so fast.
Cmon. It’s like every single Killer on this forum wants to make survivor a miserable and horrific experience. First you say BP and Buckle Up is overtuned, and then you move on to Sprint Burst and Lithe. Might as well make this work like current Dead Hard at this point.

I mean… survivors would just bring gen perks instead. One could argue that if you have a slug and 1 or more players hovering, it would be an opportune time to maximise pressure.

Buckle Up + FTP is absolute nonsense as well
Its a crazy idea I know, but survivors being given overturned tools that let them invalidate a down with minimal effort isn’t very fun to play against

Yeah survivors are not allowed to use fun perks. Would you rather face anti-tunnel or gen rush builds everygame? Stop complaining about 1 survivor perk, this is all we have since many killer mains whine about survivor perks being ‘bUsTeD’. Istg feels like survivors can’t rock a single perk these days without someone complaining about them.
