Bamboozle on Bubba is not worth it
Hello,
I play Bubba quite often, and until a few days ago I used to run Bamboozle.
But lately I learned that Bamboozle is probably a bit overrated on Bubba.
Because good Survivors / SWF will immediately realize you run Bamboozle (or even assume it right from the start, since you are playing Bubba...) and will simply run to the next spot.
In this case your Bamboozle is not that useful, in my opinion.
Now I prefer to play 3 Perks which delay Progression and Lightborn on Bubba.

Idk the name of the perk I don’t play killer that often, but I imagine that the perk that blocks pallets would be very useful on him.
does anyone know the name of the perk that blocks pallets btw?

Hex: Blood Favor

Thats a Hex though. You wont get to use it most of the time if thats the only hex perk you're bringing.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Do you also happen to know if it’s valuable on bubba?
0 -
Yeah, from my experience, Bamboozle gamers will ignore the survivor movement and just go straight for the window block, allowing for the easiest shift w I’ve ever had in my life.
6 -
Oh okay, didn’t realize it was a hex. Any tips for the bubba main above that would get a better value than bamboozle as a chase perk for bubba?
explains the random explosion that I wasn’t sure what I destroyed though.

it’s only decent at shack

The value of bam isn't to get cheesy downs on survivors not paying enough attention to miss the fact you blocked the window, it's to prevent or strongly reduce the survivors ability to chain windows together. This part of bam is completely unaffected by comms

So hex blood favor, plus whatever that perk is that blocks your totem from being cleansed. Again idk the name, but as survivor it’s very annoying when I want to touch that totem and can’t. Idk how much of your build you’re willing to sacrifice though to try something different.

That's Plaything. But that only blocks Plaything totems for the other 3 survivors for 90 seconds, only the person affected by that totem can cleanse it the first 90 seconds.
Imo if you want to use a Hex perk you should use 2 impact Hexes, Plaything and Penti. But on Bubba that can be doubious as you dont have map presence to rekindle Penti totems

Ahh alright, thank you. I thought it was a perk that blocked any totem and not a specific totem. That person shouldn’t listen to me then, I clearly need to read up on the perks on killer side.
also devs should consider a totem blocker perk for any hex, even if its conditional(for balance or whatever)

You could use Undying to protect your Hex totem, but that takes up a whole perk slot and is also a Hex. I really like to use Ruin by itself but it always hurts when people just spawn on it and instantly cleanse it. Hex perks in general need a rework

Agreed, I’ve always thought it was kind of unfair that you can take down a whole perk slot in seconds if not multiple slots incredibly quickly before any use can be had from it, they should at minimum come with a can’t be cleansed for x amount of time. Maybe make them all look dull like the others as to at least not draw attention to them for x amount of time. Idk something.

This. It's not that the perk is bad, it's that most killers who run it have Bamboozle Brain and forget how to actually play tiles. I've watched killers try to triple vault shack window while I stand at the corner and take two steps to the check spot every time. Just block the window and force the pallet down.

Bamboozle is more of a perk tax on Bubba. He doesn't work at all if survivors are allowed to use every vault 3 times, even if good survivors will make Bamboozle do nothing else.
1 -
Don't use it on Bubba, he is a built-in pallet shredder and considering the perk is a hex there's always the big risk. If you get really good with bubba there will be no pallets left.

I faced one the other day who seemed like they were on sniffy dust and had me absolutely sweating the entire chase, and he’s not someone I really struggle against personally, but I was fighting for my life on that one.

You could also make a concept where Hex perks start as a dull, but turns into a Hex totem after X amount of hooks, with each hook increasing it's strength (with a cap ofcourse)
Example:
Hex Ruin starts as a dull totem, 100% regression speed
- 1 hook, 125%.
- 2 hooks, 150%.
- 3 hooks 175%.
- 4 hooks, 200%. Cap reached. Dull totem turns into a lit Hex totem.

yeah sure why not, anything would be better than hexs current state being that you can cleanse them almost immediately by happen stance. They can always tweak numbers or whatever if they notice op trends. I’m not really that great with percentages, I’m a fan of people being able to have more viable options though, so you see less of the same thing over and over. I don’t think it’s asking too much for there to be some protection for hex totems, obviously they’re usually very strong, so there must be conditions. I’m open to them trying something new with them though to make them more viable to see how it goes, the condition can vary per hex if needed.

My main problem is that I feel I have to sacrifice 1 perk slot already as Killer to play Lightborn.
I know some Survivor mains will tell me now that you don't need Lightborn since you can play around flashlights if you are careful / patient, but for me it is very stressful not to be able to immediately pick up a downed Survivor just because there might be one of his team mates in the wings trying a flashlight save if I pick him up.
And If I also want to play Bamboozle as well, there are only 2 Perk Slots left to pick up for Information or Regression Perks.
Let's say I want to play Lightborn / Deadlock / Surge (Jolt) / Pop Goes the Weasel
.. which Perk should I drop for Bamboozle ?
Lightborn, as I said, I really enjoy playing.
Surge (Jolt) is in my opinion, still a good perk on Bubba, because at some loops there is no option to down Survivors using the chainsaw. And it saves time.
And Deadlock and Pop are considered META (although there are alternatives like Corrupt Interventon, Grim Embrace, Dead Man's Switch, Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance or No Way Out).

Maybe I will have to part with Lightborn :/

Bamboozle is the strongest chase perk on Bubba. If Bubba vault every window on his path - it's not perk's problem - sorry.
Bubba can fake vaulting the window and immediately rev the Chainsaw with good addons and outplay the loop.
Bamboozle also immediately destroy Shack & JGYM loop. It saves so much time.
Enduring is bad on Bubba, because you are very easy to get stunned - it means you don't break a Pallet with a Chainsaw - Breaking a Pallet with a Chainsaw grants 1 second cooldown.

i think thats just bad use of bam tbh any survivor who is decent in chase and realises that the killer has bam brainrot is just gonna shift w every window while the killer mindgames themselves but if you only use bam when its actually advantageous its def worth on bubba

U can just dodge a lobby with multiple flashlights or take the add on where you see auras when u rev.

I also play a lot of Bubba these days and he is really fun, but sometimes I just get looped for a long time cuz I don’t have BamBam but seeing these comments, just made me realize that I shouldn’t be using that perk since most survivors just hold W to the next tile

It is not really worth it. Bubba has an Instadown, so you would not need Blood Favor anyway. Also he can get rid of Pallets pretty quickly.
@Topic:
Good choice not running Bamboozle. It is a Perk which really makes Killers lazy and not learn how to run Tiles. IMO some Killers really rely too much on it and while it was implemented to deal with strong Window Loops, people use it on every Loop and just dont learn how to run them properly.

I'm addicted to how satisfying the sound the perk makes when window gets blocked.
1 -
They can still quick switch back to their flashlights shortly before the lobby countdown runs down. And Flashbangs / Firecrackers exist. And a Survivor could loot a Flashlight during the trial.

If you want to use Bamboozle in efficient way you can't just vault every Window on your way. Strong Bubba can fake vaulting the window and immediately Rev the Chainsaw and catch a Survivor who press "W", because he expected a vault from the Bubba.
Also play Shack without Bamboozle...

I have to admit that today I played a game on Disturbed Ward as Bubba and having Bamboozle was pretty useful I must say. Without Bamboozle I would never ever made the 4K.

You say that now, but I'll see you on Groaning Storehouse

depend on the map, if u get groaning storehouse and u dont own bamboozle gl mate lol
