What Do Survivors Have to Look Forward to?
Genuine question.
No maps being changed for survivors.
No meaningful perk buffs coming.
No new mechanics that benefit survivors.
No limited game-modes or events that are beneficial to survivors.
No solo-queue changes.
Seems like the only thing survivors can get excited about are skins these days.
If I'm wrong please correct me. But being a survivor main is rough.
How are we feeling about the role?

Honestly I was hoping the devs buff vigil slightly by adding mangled to it but I think they’ll add it later to the perk
2 -
We're getting a new chapter that has both a killer and survivor. Balance changes are focused on minor buffs to killers alongside a nerf to mangled (something survivors have been asking for). Just because you don't see any direct buffs to survivors, doesn't mean you have nothing.
But also, not every patch needs to give both sides "things to look forward to".

New content?
I mean I wanted Ultimate Weapon nerfed and Knight removed from the game but BHVR takes forever to get to obvious glaring problems. Hence why they nerfed Pig yet again instead of dealing with the fact that Billy turns like Oni now.
6 -
Mind you the last four patches were like this. And that's the problem.
I'd also add that killer nerfs are rarely ever basekit. Whereas survivor nerfs are almost always basekit.
Guess which is way more impactful?
Who cares about mangled getting a timer when maps are constantly shrinking and being made weaker, and things like gen-tapping being removed?
22 -
absolutely nothing!! the devs made clear that survivors are not getting any useful buffs anymore
15 -
being a survivor main has become awful since 2022
29 -
Relax, tomorrow we will have a new survivor with 3 amazing perks... don't complain! 🤣

No maps being changed for survivors.
Nope, only in favour for killer, since years. And no sign of stopping.
No meaningful perk buffs coming.
Nope, nothing meaningful.
No new mechanics that benefit survivors.
Not gonna happen in DBD.
No limited game-modes or events that are beneficial to survivors.
Nope, only easy mode for killer like Lights out.
No solo-queue changes.
Not gonna happen in DBD.
Seems like the only thing survivors can get excited about are skins these days.
That is correct. Punish them by not buying.
If I'm wrong please correct me.
No, you are not wrong. Its insane to believe you are wrong.
But being a survivor main is rough.
It is i guess.
How are we feeling about the role?
I play both, but i feel like a god when i play killer, basically winning almost every game with little to no effort and when i play survivor (while being significantly better) it feels like getting ragdolled often times.
In short: its going into the dumbster, slowly but surely.

Patches favouring one side isn’t new stop whining
9 -
Says the guy making a blanket statement in this topic about how survivors aren't getting any buffs in the future.
You just need to chill out and realize that not every patch is going to be what you want.
13 -
Show us those patches that favoured survivor in recent years.
4 -
cosmetics but only for feng meg dwight ace kate nea and thats it
0 -
An Adrenaline nerf.
2 -
behavior been cooking lately but we still demanding more. I understand we get four new killers a year which keep the fanbase fed. It just would be nice if survivors could get one new Item/mechanic every so often.
boons was the last big mechanic.
The teamwork perks was weak but at least had a cool theme of benefiting from working close together.
lastly the portals from the void event was super fun and new for survivors.
2 -
I am also asking you specificly now because this statement is coming frequently when killer get buff after buff after buff and survivor comlain: "Not every patch is going to be what you want."
Where are those patches in the recent years that buffed survivor? Or brought something significant to the table?
The only thing i can think off were boon totems, but they are so incredibly weak, nobody ever plays them unfortunatly.
So, care to answer?
11 -
The anti 3 gen brought something significant to the table.
6 -
Well, you can look forward to being tunnelled by a new killer. Isn't that exciting?
20 -
3 Gen cap is pretty much useless since it will almost never if ever reached - but they removed gen taping and added another 2,5% on regression per kick. I am not saying this is incredible aweful because in my opinion, Gen tap had to be fixed in one way or anther, but calling 7.5 (was it 7.5?) a survivor buff is not correct. Hillbilly buff also was part of that patch. GE was buffed. Overall, besides the unnecessay mini STBFL nerf, clearly a killer favoured patch.
15 -
It's just fixed the hostage issue and it also ended with killer buff. Now killers who was never holding 3-gen is getting more value from kicks. But it did not add anything for survivors.
So i don't know how this is excited for survivors? Killers got Billy, Chucky and GE with last patches. What survivors got? Nothing.
Oh , i forgot about garbage Alan Wake perks.
19 -
“Or brought something significant to the table?”
…That wasn’t soonly after or eventually stripped of all its significance😉
4 -
I feel the exact same way, I play both sides but have always played more survivor than killer and am 100% a better survivor than killer, but that doesn't matter at all. I stomp 80-90% of my games as Killer, literally often enough to the point I feel bad and just start giving hatch every game.
On the other hand, I get absolutely stomped on survivor even though most of my games I feel like I'm holding good to great chases and doing everything I should be doing.
5 -
Possible DS buff on the road map. Other than that it's a barren looking future so far for survivor.
8 -
Man i just checked the roadmap up to june, and i can not lie - it is really depressing. All impactful we will get or already got are killer buffs
Basekit Shadowborn
Hillbilly buff
Grim Embrace buff
Hag buff
Huntress buff
Clown buff
Demogorgon buff
Doctor buff
Generator buff for killer
The rest: Blight addons are maybe a little nerf, but barely. Onryo is still the same in terms of power. Quick gambit, Shadowborn Monitor and Mengled Status are irrelevant.
The only 2 things survivors get instead are a possible UW nerf and a possible DS buff, but even that is questionable. Cool! 2 perks that may or may not be good for survivors for a trillion killer buffs, and i bet Twins will be buff aswell.
13 -
Funny how killer buffs are usually basekit too. So they get value out of it every match.
Nerfing perks or buffing survivor perks is so irrelevant in the grand scheme of things because perks aren't omnipresent.
4 -
The perk is fine
3 -
Limited gen regressions for killers and mangled you don't have to care about it goes away after a minute or 90 seconds. So nerfs to killer slowdowns. In return a few weak killers gets buffed to mediocre tier, except Huntress but them buffs won't go live anyway.
Sounds pretty good for survivor mains, like myself.
1 -
Idk who paid you to say all of that but Gen Regresssion has been consistently powerful even after Eruption nerfs.
10 -
You asked specifically "Or brought something significant to the table" which we feel this fits.
That said, what would the general population want for survivors? And how would you implement it?
Many maps have balanced (success varies), the perks that need buffed are ones almost no one ever uses and probably won't use anyway less their at the power of or greater than meta perks of which theres 5 different flavors for almost every situation, what solo q buff to add that some survivor (or killer but thinking survivor matters more here) won't whine about saying not enough.
Sooooooooooo sorry, we didn't realize that the rampant 3 gen knights and merchants and others plaguing games weren't a problem~ Lets remove it then since it doesn't add anything meaningful. The above questions also needs asked: what would the general population want for survivors and how to implement it?
We also want to point out in the past survivors ran rampant with alot of BS for a long time, if the killers can wait literal years for stuff for them, so can survivors.
5 -
The possibility of a DS buff, if we get lucky.
2 -
And getting proxy camped too! Woohoo, can't wait for the fun.
Maybe get BM if lucky lol :(
7 -
I'm not looking forward to anything. I think we have another event coming up but after Lights Out I don't have my hopes up
4 -
Yeah that bait wasnt any good lol
3 -
I look forward to new content tomorrow, besides that? Idk I suppose nothing in particular but I'm probably one of the few people on here that's generally pretty content with what we have now.
Not that I don't have my own thoughts about directions I'd like the game to take I've just never been much of a doomer.

The perk is on the list to get a change in Mar/April. And Adrenaline is strong but fine, so its no way it will get a buff. Which mean it will get a nerf.
2 -
Yeah, it goes back and forth, as does the side doing the whining. Surv is trending down atm, but it will change. History is a good indicator of that.
And I had to laugh when I saw complaints about no map changes "for survivors" as if 2/3 of the maps aren't already hella survivor friendly. Most of the rest are neutral and there are like 2 killer sided maps in the game.
There are valid criticisms of how survs have been treated recently, but we have a long, long, long way to go before anyone can cry about map balance from a surv perspective.
3 -
Which map need changes for survivors? In the last patch the devs added pallets and loops in a deadzone of an already survivor sided map (Ormond).
There are meaningful perk buffs announced for survivors: Decisive Strike.
What mechanic do you need that benefit survivors?
I agree with the limited time events being more balanced, the Lights Out event was clearly killer sided.
The only solo-queue change I think they can further implement at this point is Kindred being base kit. I would be ok with that.

When do we get a solution to tunneling that isn't perk dependent? When do keys and maps get reworked? It's not about needing these things, it's about a total lack of ambition for survivor updates. The HUD updates were great...in January 2023. 2024 is just the year of nothing a la the roadmap
8 -
I would like for survivors to have their own unique abilities to shake up the game for survivors. But they said they wouldn't do that which is honestly boring. But I'm also not surprised because that takes alot of work as it is and we know they do the bare minimum already.
0 -
I haven't figured out why survivors still play the game. I would find another game that is more rewarding and that the devs actually care about a fun and fair experience. It's very discouraging for survivors to never get any content and it's nerf, nerf, nerf, while killers get buff, buff, buff.
12 -
When the devs kill stealth and the horror atmosphere by removing fog, brightening reworked maps, and mega buffing tracking perks, we're told "lol dbd isn't a horror game since 2017".
When the devs purposely balance the game so one side wins a majority of the time we're told "it's a horror game so we have to make killers win more to feel scary".
So is it a horror game or not? Because balancing the game for comp tournaments like it's Counterstrike but still skewing toward one side winning 60% of the time feels like a complete contradiction.
15 -
I really hope they dont remove the ability to heal after getting unhooked. That would mean even if you get to the endgame the perk is just dead💀. Hopefully the nerf is just that it doesnt wake you up from the dream world
2 -
"my auto bots roll out build got nerfed from quad S tier to balanced in 6.1.0 so survivor is unplayable"
4 -
Yes, "killers".
What A+ tier killer has been directly buffed in the last two years? Huntress in the upcoming patch ig?
Factor in how bad players are and the fact that 1 in 5 survivors are not being efficient and that's what makes survivor "miserable". Not some immense imbalance that you've made up.
4 -
I disagree the entire coldwind realm got transferred from highly survivor favored to disgustingly killer sided. Loved that realm before but 2 LT's, 2 5 hour killer tiles and one long wall is a terrible map for survivors.
3 -
Blight.
They are keep giving him unasked buffs.
5 -
???? Wdym maps for survivor?? Over 75% of all the maps in the game are survivor sided, or at the very least make using certain killers miserable.
3 -
Nothing.
We'll get 3 garbage-tier perks that nobody is going to use (but killers on this forum will swear they're OP) and that's it.
11 -
Personally, I think this is a bad attitude to have. Why does everything have to be a competition between each side, even outside of actual matches?
Why can't the devs try and improve the overall game balance and/or experience for everyone without specifically trying to appease one "side" or another? It seems like this is what they're doing with a lot of these killer changes, even if some are questionable (looking at you, Huntress and Pig).
Attitudes of "we should get something, just because" aren't really helpful for the game, are they? It would never even occur to me to think anything along the lines of; "well the side I'm facing got something that benefits them last update, I should too, not because it would benefit my experience playing or help balance the game, but just because they did".
I want the game to improve for everyone as a whole. I don't want to just be given nice shiny things because someone else got a nice shiny thing.
5 -
Hold on now. One perk is bound to be OP. But then killers will complain then it will be nerfed to the ground.
10 -
amazing perks who gonna be nerfed probably
