tunnling

Hello, I have a question

Why does a surv have to take an anti tunnel perk with it?

who the killer can tunnel even without a perk

What I don't understand is why a killer can tunnel without a perk and I have to play anti tunnel to prevent it from happening

It should also be made difficult for the killer to tunnel

because I also have to waste a perk space to avoid being tunneled

Feel free to suggest to me what you can do about it or have any suggestions

gen rusch complains about it, gens go too fast blah blah but presenting tunneling as a tactic is wrong because a surv has to play extra anti tunnel to prevent this creates a balance and not mindless tunneling

For surv there is a perk against tunnels but why should I play anti tunnel when the killer can just tunnel like that

why does a surv have to play anti tunnel and the killer is allowed to do this without a perk, why do I have to take a perk with me and he doesn't^^

"The perk will not be effective unless it is equipped."

Please don't forget the kind words from DBD official!

why wrong I just asked why a killer without a perk is allowed to do this and as a survivor you have to counter with a perk that's all^^

The killer has 4 advantages, the survivor basically only has 3 because he wants to be prepared not to be tunnelled, where is that, where is that fair?^^

there are perks for genrush The killer slows things down, then has to hunt down the survivors. What was the point of tunneling 1 surv if in return all gens are turned on?^^

No, I also wonder why there is an anti-tunnel perk, but the killer can tunnel at will and doesn't have to waste perk space like a survivor, for example

For me it's not about whether people tunnel, I'm concerned about the fact that the surv has to do something about it and has to waste perk spaces and the killer is allowed to do it without a perk, he can hit any surv

    Except, slowdowns work for every.single.thing.

    • Fail to mind game making chase longer. Slowdowns give you more time to make up for it. You dont need aura.
    • Got flashlight saved. Slowdowns give you more time to make up for it. You dont need Light borne
    • DS'd. Slowdowns give you more time to make up for it
    • Hook sabo, body block and survivor wiggled out. Slowdowns give you more time to make up for it. You dont need Agitation
    • Survivors keep pre-drop pallet to extend chase. Slowdowns give you more time to make up for it

The only thing killers need is the time to get 10-12 hooks for 4K. It doesnt matter about killers' skill, good killers take 30sec to get a hook, bad killers take 2min to get a hook. Both of them need more time, nothing else. A newbie killer can 4K Knightlight team if Gen time extened to 3min each. This is why 4 slowdown build is always the strongest build.

Tunneling is needed in game, but the risk is too far lower than rewarding.

You dont have to do anything. Bring an anti tunnel perk if really hate being tunneled.

I feel it's more appropriate to ask why is that type of frustrating game play encouraged and a thing? Same goes for both sides. I just want to play, not have my match end in minutes.

I don't care if I "win/lose" it's just about having fun. Being out of a match within minutes because of tunneling is so boring I just turn off the game and go out with friends/do something else.

I mean anti-tunnel perks don't actually stop tunnelling.

I am not sure I understand the initial post statement. I play both killer and survivor. I do not take anti-tunnel perks on survivor. Do I get chased? Yes. Do they give up or at least get 3 gens done? Yes. I just adapt to the match and don’t worry about being the target. There are a lot of killers that will tunnel. If you work on your chase mechanics you can punish them for attempting it on you.

Watch how I can say the same thing about survivor strategies:

Why does a KILLER have to take an anti PALLET perk with it?

who the SURVIVOR can PALLET STUN even without a perk

What I don't understand is why a SURVIVOR can PALLET STUN without a perk and I have to play anti PALLET PERK to prevent it from happening

It should also be made difficult for the SURVIVOR to PALLET STUN AND PALLETS SHOULD DEGRADE IN EFFICACY OVER TIME

because I also have to waste a perk space to avoid being STUNNED

Feel free to suggest to me what you can do about it or have any suggestions

    Hello, I have a question.

Why do you have to bring 2, 3 or 4 gen defence perks else the game is over in 3 minutes? I have to bring these perks in case I vs survivors who actually do generators efficiently.

Why do I have to waste perk slots

Because they do the same thing they normally would just focussed on 1 survivor. Do you want killers to run a perk just so they can actually hit you? They only use the most fundamental mechanics of the game to tunnel. You cannot lock these behind perks because it would mean that killers who don't run these perks literally cannot play the game.

When you're being tunneled you still get to play. That's a huge difference.

It depends. If I play at 3am my time when its only sweatsquads, yeah the momentum pretty quickly escapes me. If I treated any of them like a casual team of megheads i'd be lucky to get 3 hooks by the end. During normal afternoon/evening hours its a mixed bag, but I also don't play killer a whole lot.

That question didn't exactly address my point, however, that you have no real way of knowing how hard your opponent is going to sweat until its generally too late to adapt.

As long as the killer's keyboard and mouse are intact, they are free to play however they want within the confines of the game's rules.

    *sips brandy*

    Another crazy question answered.

How is it not just "onto the next" when you get tunneled out as survivor? And for the ones still in the match, they have the same parallel to having to wait for the gates to open (theirs being having to wait for the killer to finish the rest off. ) If either side goes ham right out of the gate, the impact is minimized (for killer, getting one out before gens pop, for survivor getting as many gens done as possible before tunnel victim is out.)

You can play chill on either side, but you have no idea whether your opponent will be relaxed in kind. Since survivors start as the stronger role and power shifts away from them the more the killer accomplishes, the time crunch starts on the killer more than the survivors (which then shifts on to the survivors depending on how the killer plays.)

Its both easier and smarter for the killer to sweat right out of the gate, get their first kill and/or heavy hook pressure early, then relax as they have the match in their advantage. Survivors have the opposite issue where they can relax early if the killer does, but if the killer goes hard then they wasted that time and efficiency advantage.

Edit: to address the slugging comment, survivors can be just as obnoxious in drawing out the resolution of the game. If they're particularly stronger than the killer they can refuse to finish the last gen and waste as much time as possible for the killer before opening the gates, which means the egc hasn't even started yet. Even then stuff like loud noise spamming for the entire egc is just as obnoxious as getting slugged and bled out. Both suck.
