Do you prefer to customize your characters with full cosmetic sets, or make your own looks?
I typically use iri shard cosmetics as personal goals in the game, so I buy my outfits piecemeal. Often, I want to purchase a specific outfit, but I end up liking my own look I've made for them with parts from multiple outfits!
Do you find yourself doing this? If so, what are your favorites?
Here are mine:
Edit: I forgot to add, I'm talking about survivors and killers! I just buy more outfits for killer because my favorite survivors are all Resident Evil characters, so their outfits are linked sets.

Yes, all the time. And wow! Your Artist and Knight look awesome.

I prefer to make my own sets. There are some exceptions, like Dwight's recent dino cosmetic. I don't usually like linked sets but he will wear that for the foreseeable future.

Thank you! Artist's weapon is the Deep Rift version of her weapon from the Existence Tome Rift. I originally had Knight's sword be his bloody sword, but I thought that his Halloween sword actually looked better.

Mm, yeah, I typically lose interest in a cosmetic when I find out it's a set. The only linked sets I generally like are those for licensed characters.

I play Yun-Jin and Mikaela from time to time as well and I don't care about my killer cosmetics as much. I'm aware the screenshots take up a bunch of space here so these are my mains!

Yeah, it makes sharing hard! 😑
It's still worth it, though. I really like your Nancy! It honestly looks like those cosmetic parts were meant to be one outfit! Same with Steve. Nea's jacket and plaid skirt go together surprisingly well.

I usually wear whole sets instead of mixing and matching, but I don't own a lot of cosmetics to mix in the first place. I'm stocking up on shards because I'm not sure whether to buy the next chapter with shards or money.

God I wish I got that Singularity skin but I wasn't around during that rift. I love them all but the blue Singularity with the frozen cosmetics in combination really takes the cake for me.
But yeah, mix & matching is really fun and allows for creativity. It makes me wish all these license dealers would let us have fun instead of agreeing to make them sets. At least our king Nicolas Cage is kind enough to let us mix & match his incredible choices in attire.

Wish I could have Sheva as a whole character with bloody outfit at least.

I always wear mixed cosmetics

Thanks! I couldn't do much else with Steve because I was expecting a character sale which would've gotten me an extra cosmetic for him but I did what I could. With Nea I tend to change up the skirts and sometimes go with the black one because I just really like the style for some reason.

I really like monster killers because of how cool their skins can be.
The logic of how certain cosmetics are linked often makes no sense to me. I mean, yeah, the Xenomorph Queen has to be a set, because she's a whole new model, like a lot of other Legendary Skins, but why, like you say, are survivor cosmetics like Leon's locked in sets?
Hopefully over time they'll unlock more sets.

I'm seeing more people advocating for this. With the amount of characters they are adding as Legendary skins on both sides these days, who knows? Maybe they'll change the bloody cosmetics into some kind of special shader that can be applied to more cosmetics than just the base designs..

I like the cool, casual look for Ace! Your design for Jake is also probably the most unique Jake I've ever seen. For some reason, most Jakes I see don't seem to go for the beard. I don't know why, though. It looks good on him.

I prefer to mix and match cosmetic pieces. Either to follow a particular theme, job type, or so on. Whenever possible I will have them look as close as possible to other characters not in DBD. Like my attempt to make Ace look like the GTA 3 Guy (Claude)

That's a really cool look for Ace! He seems to have a lot of cosmetics that mix well.

Linked sets are cool but I want to make my own looks most the time! Wish I could split up toilet paper Dwight…

Very much depends on the cosmetics. On Billy I have settled on the milkman outfit with a weapon of my choice. On Ace I just equip whatever looks the most hideous. And on Freddy there are no cosmetics besides the prestige ones which I always wear.

Haha, yeah toilet paper Dwight mixed with other cosmetics could make some pretty funny outfits.

It's hard to argue with Billy the Milkman.
