Hook screams need to be nerfed or get a volume bar.
When playing without headphones, I have to keep the volume way down to not freak out neighbours, and then I can't hear other important sound cues properly.
When playing with headphones as killer to get good info the screams are actually painful. When playing with a survivor with calm spirit, I notice myself tensing up before the scream, then relaxing with relief when the scream doesn't come.
The hook can still echo around the map without being ear bursting for the hooker/hooked. This is a game, it doesn't need to be realistic. Fix this.

I agree, I’m so tired of my ears bleeding out because the screams are so loud. I have to have the sound up so I can hear the other details in the game, but God help me when I have to hook somebody.
Forgive me survivors, if I have to hit you one time on a hook

just hit them, its what I do, alot think im salty but I do it bc it cancels the scream early
