A Survivor’s True Enemy isn’t the Killer

Some of you might know me for my previous popular forums with controversial Killer sided takes, for in the recent past I’ve been a devoted killer main. However I’ve been playing survivor with some friends (usually a duo, rarely a 4 man swf). And with this experience it has further confused me on the clear common division on this game of Survicor VS Killer, here’s why.

Now like I’ve said, I’ve been a Killer main since I’ve came back to the game a month ago after my half a year break (P98 Spirit), so I understand the killer’s perspective/motives so I do not blame them for playing their role.

My problem is with teammates and here are just some examples of scenarios I can remember off my mind - [ Killing themselves on hook, dc’ing on first down, dc’ing when they see a killer they don’t like, dc’ing because they didn’t get the map they brought an offering for, spam vaulting near you to get the killer to kill you, refusing to heal you when you’re on death hook and they’re a fresh hook, hiding for 3/4 of the game ] . That list consisted of things in the teammate’s control, here’s some that I don’t blame teammates for but can still be deemed problematic by majority of people, [ questionable builds (self care, distortion, calm spirit ect) , not understanding a killer’s power ( I don’t expect everyone to so I hardly blame them but it can throw a game) , not doing gens at all, having no game sense ]

Diving deeper on what I meant by the division of survivor vs killer, I have went into Killer’s streams after the game to say ggs and see my teammate’s comments on their stream being very toxic and angry because they’ve died calling the killers tunnelers and campers, i apologized on their behalf only to find out the killer was literally doing a tome challenge and it was their first time on that killer and they in fact did not tunnel the teammate. On the other hand I’ve went into teammates’ ttv stream to say ggs and they immediately believe we have some sort of survivor struggle alliance and starts going on a rant on the killer we’ve faced, “that killer was so lame right” ect…

So at least for the survivor community, I whole heartedly believe instead of continuing the war on the killer side, which usually is just being angry that the killer didn’t “play nice” (their role is the killer btw incase anyone forgot), maybe looking inward and start seeing the flaws within the survivor community and starts being better teammates for one another is the solution.

A reminder this is my experience and I do not believe my Survivor mmr is that high yet so I’m not sure how much of that apply to higher survivor mmr but I would assume it’s not far off. I’m on a writer’s block right now I know I have much more to say but I can’t remember so maybe that’ll be additional texts in future edits but I’ll let you go here I’m sorry if that was a lot to read.
