Kill3rs see my items before match?!?
i honestly believe it’s unfair for killers to see what items survivors run before start of game.. yet we have no clue who the killer it is?!?
killers can easily adjust builds based off what items they can clearly see survivors bringing into the game. Only would be fair if we could see the killer we play against as well to balance i out.. Let me know if anyone else finds it unfair as well.

mate, you can literally switch your entire loadout as survivor in a second by switching characters...

Agree, but yeah I agree it’s weird they can see your items, even if it can be last minute swapped. It just makes the survivor feel like they have to have a preplanned ahah gotcha moment, which breeds a toxicity to it.

seeing the survivors items is simply part of bhvrs balance. they think its fair that the killer has some room to prepare for what the survs bring like lightborn against a lobby full of flashlights.
in the end items are a big help but its not like the the game is unwinable if the killer counters your toolbox on the otherhand if you could see the killer in the lobby you would not counter him with perks 90% of the player would straight up leave the lobby until they get an m1 killer

I am still in favor or just removing the lobby and names during a match.
12 -
You only see the type of items they bring, its not a big deal.
You don't see if they have insta endurance, auto heal, brand new part or just 5% healing increase addon.

I think it is fair that Killers adjust their build to what Items are brought. Where it was not really good was when they could still switch in the Lobby, so seeing Medkits and switching to Plague was kinda...eh.
However, the Lobby is simply outdated at this point. Killers dont use this information to prepare, they use this information to dodge the Lobby, they are cherrypicking. Which also screws with Matchmaking and results in weaker/stronger Killer players ending up in Lobbies they simple dont belong in.
IMO it would be fine to remove the Lobby completely. It really does not fit the purpose it was intended to fit, let alone that it is a relic from the time the Killer was the host. Or they keep it (removing names and profiles of course, those are not gameplay-relevant anyway) and give the Killer access to which Items Survivors bring to prepare, but put a penalty on Dodging.

I don't think it really matters tbh and if a killer is that insecure they swap their builds based on what survivors are using they probably need all the help they can get anyway
1 -
The only reason I leave a lobby is mainly when there are anonymous survivors and if I see a ban history on my Steam profile. And most killers are.
1 -
Yeah I'd like to test out the effect on matchmaking quality without having lobbies at all. It gets rid of so many issues like Prestige dodging, sifting through profiles, last second surv swapping, etc. so their system would finally have a decent shot at working most of the time. That benefit alone outweighs several boxes or flashys in one lobby imo.
Then they can show whatever they like post game, even who was in a SWF group.
3 -
Killer only knows what kind of item you're bringing, he wont know the rarity and the addons, so you could be bringing a brown medkit or a strong medkit with the best addons Killer wont know.

I like this opinion as well. I think it'd make everything easier and much faster no waiting in lobby just queue up like the joining match screen then go straight to the match loading screen.
I mean either way doesn't affect me because I don't dodge anyone ever. I could care less if they want to bully or gen rush or sabo every hook. I know that it would definitely help out others I've watched multiple streamers dodge lobbies due to crazy things like surv names to items and ofc prestige.
3 -
I think a way to balance for it would be, if you're solo survivor you get to know who you're up against and bring the right loadout. So even if a team has 2 solos and 1 SWF of 2 people, then the SWF has to rely on their combined strength meaning the lose out of the killer info and solo's can come better prepared so they can be less of a liability.
The problem then would be, how do you discourage people from leaving the lobby if they're up against a killer they don't like.

Seeing the killer would lead to lobby dodging. Seeing the items doesn't because you pretty much have no chance to avoid them. Also, there are perks that are designed to counter items. All of them would become completely useless, if the killer couldn't see them.

Being able to know what killer you'll be playing against can potentially break the game. Don't like a killer? Just dodge until you find some easy M1 low tier killer causing killer que time to either explode or they won't ever get a chance to play their killer again. Playing vs a certain killer? Quickly put on a perk that hard counters the killer. Doctor - Calm Spirit. Spirit - Iron Will. Oni - healing perk. Plague - perks that buffs you while injured. Etc, etc

Franklin's would be the most useless perk in the world if we couldn't see items
3 -
No, bc you can best believe they’re still going to bring items. You might feel less inclined to feel like you have to pick it though. And if it’s a huge problem bc you’re not, they’ll just nerf survivor stuff that’s a problem as usual to adjust.

They want killers to win and survivors to lose so get use to it.

I wish we would just skip lobby, and go straight to loading a match after you found a match. All lobby does it waste time and mess up matchmaking with backfilled players, and encourage lobby dodging. And for every suspicious cheater you dodge, someone else has to play with them anyway.
2 -
Risk reward. Survivors have to deal with it, why not killers?
oh ya ya, I forgot the game is rife with double standards. My bad.
2 -
Risk reward is running Blood Echo incase they are Sprint Burst users
Franklin's is such a low-impact perk, why would you ever run it if you didn't see 4 medkits?
9 -
It's an asymmetrical game. Survivors get 16 perks, killers get 4. Survivors get 4 items with 2 addons a piece, killers just get the 2 addons. Killers need information a hell of a lot more than survivors do, because there's only one of them.
If you want to start complaining about it being unfair, then okay, fine. Give the killers 16 perk slots and 8 add-on slots, then It'd be fair for survivors to either see the killer, or for the killer to not see them.
Alternately, make it a 4v4 game. It'd be "fair" then.
I swear, people have no idea what asymmetrical means. They just look at stuff and go "buh buh but- THAT'S NOT FAIR!", without taking into consideration the type of game they're playing or the reason it exists.

Killers shouldn't be able to shop for lobbies.
3 -
Nah, you're wrong. I can't even say I disagree because you don't disagree with something that's just wrong. You can't disagree with fire being hot.
But that being said, it doesn't have anything to do with this discussion. You're talking about player levels, they're talking about items. Those two things have nothing to do with one another.
2 -
You think Killers should be able to shop for lobbies?! Jesus, what a bad take.
Who the hell is talking about player levels, all I mentioned was the inability to lobby shop being a positive change.
Killers dodge all the time based off of items.

Killers dodge all the time based off of items.
Citation needed.
6 -
Yeah, and that's not what this discussion is about. Items have nothing to do with lobby shopping, player levels are the only connecting tissue here.
At least pretend to try and stay on topic my dude.
7 -
Don't you literally avocate for survivors to dodge skull merchant lobbies? I agree with your take dodging lobbies shouldn't be a thing but YOU specifically have no ground to stand on.

You can't dodge SM lobbies???
You can't see the Killer prior to the game. If you know of a way to do that though....nah, I couldn't back fill some poor random into that
0 -
YOU brought it up Here's what I've said in my original comment.
"Killers shouldn't be able to shop for lobbies."
That's it. I don't know how you got comments on items or player levels from THAT.
0 -
Dont you insist on going next/giving up on hook against SM, which is basically dodging a lobby and ruining everyone elses experience too?
4 -
Nope.
I play it out, usually. I don't blame anyone for doing that, but at least you aren't backfilling someone else into it. I don't really think I've heard anyone say that they enjoy playing against SM. In the off chance that they do, they can still play against her, just as a 1v1.

.... I'm um.... Not sure how to respond to this like killers only have add ons that can aid in their weapons or the like. We get items that can aid out generators, heal ourselves or be a nuisance to the killer. I don't see the point to be honest about the killer not seeing the items. I'm not sure what you think it would accomplish if they didn't?

Another day, qnother post with a survivor main complaining.
6 -
A whole bunch of unsubstantiated survivor complaining, all years-old. Seems legit to me.
6 -
You literally asked, all I did was look it up.
I apologize for not citing a Killer Council approved source.
0 -
Is that the reason they made survs so small in the lobby when playing killer?
1 -
Removing lobby is not a good idea.
I like to tell people what i run. Soloq is bad. Why nerf it even more?
Names during match? Those can go.
1 -
sheeesh....
EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO PLAY WHAT THEY WANT. IF YOU LOAD INTO A LOBBY OF DBD, YOU DO TAKE THE RISK OF DACING EVERY KILLER. IF YOU DONT LIKE OVER 70% OF THE KILLER CAST, MAYBE THIS GAME OVERALL IS NOT FOR YOU.
Im gonna copy this now and every time someone says: "i dont like x killer, they ruin my experience"
The killer is part of DBD.
6 -
Well items act like a 5th perk so makes sense why killers can see them.
0 -
Just for the love of everything holy add a screen showing the Survivors each other's builds.
2 -
I literally didn't say anything about not being able to play Killers.
0 -
It is plain and simple the correct and logical respond, yet it feels like a roast. 😂
1 -
What if removing lobbies is the best way of solidifying the matchmaking system, and mitigating the backfilling problem?
0 -
It is unfair, since its an asym the sides are not symmetrical, killers need that lobby information because it can help shape their build and not leave them woefully unprepared in a match.
Conversely if a survivor can build off what killer they have they can do a lot more damage
Here are some examples of killers that would get trounced by this
Trapper, survivors bring maps to locate his traps
Doctor, survivors bring calm spirit to never scream and give him information
Spirit, survivors bring iron will and lightfooted to reduce sounds made
pinhead, fixated works while chained and makes him lose a ton of distance that he would have normally gained with his power
There is examples of this or worse for every single killer in the game being able to tailor build the antithesis to every single killer in the game would immediately break it
Survivor perk balance immediately goes out the window when you have the perfect build for every single killer at the ready, vs when you see 4 survivors with flashlights and go lightborn they can still just stun you under pallets or do gens like normal and you have given up 1/4th of your build, vs survivors using less of their overall build because they get massive amounts more value from niche counterperks that you can't play around as killer, lightborne just stun the survivor, no screaming or info as doctor though luck.
3 -
Perhaps you can try the time honored tradition of the 'last second switch.'
0 -
Agree!
You did not. This was about the general mindset of "I don't like x killer, I don't want them in my dbd. Killer has to go and until then, I will give up against them."
Instead of fueling the hate train, we should give constructive feedback.
"I don't want to play against this like anyone else" or "just delete her" is not constructive feedback.
2 -
Except the proper response to SM is to functionally delete her.
Her power is a jumbled mess of ideas that needs to be scrapped and re-approached. They keep trying to make stationary status effect zones work and they just DO NOT.
Back to the drawing board to think up a power that is both strong (because SM is just like Old Legion, strong but weak) and decent to play against. I'm not asking for a Demogorgon or Billy level of fun to play against; I'd take Wesker or Artist.
