Characters not moving for a minute should lose collision

Body blocking someone for an extended period of time in a corner/room/hallway is not part of a normal gameplay and forces people to DC if the match can't progress.

Thus I believe that after 60 seconds of a character not moving they should lose collision until they start moving again. By not moving I mean maybe with a margin of tiny movements to exclude those trying to bypass this mechanic. Moving just the mouse (just camera) should not count for movement.

60 seconds is also a suggestion, it probably could be a little less, but definitely not longer.

Yes, Dead by Daylight is overdue for this change. Reducing the time to 10 seconds would not only prevent blocking but also alleviate the support staff from the burden of verifying and justifying those reports.

Players would simply not move for that amount of time in corners of the map/basement and hold the game hostage. It makes more sense to take a video of the body block and send in a report for what the one player (killer) does, rather than create a mechanic with the potential for 1-4 people to abuse.

You know that hitboxes can still be active when collision is lost, right? I play legion and a good example of this is hitting the same survivor as they try to cross their hitbox into their teammate just after you slashed them to negate your power. Just because they go afk doesn't mean you can't down and hook them.

If a survivor has birds, they should lose collision so they can get past a teammate or killer who has body blocked them.

i mean its admireble that you try to protect the game from things that could be abused but i dont see the potential for abuse here. when its designed to counter body block all we need is: when not moved or interacted for 60seconds the play loses collision for 1,5 seconds.

long enough to get out of any body block but not long enough to use in any other way plus there is no way a survivor could use that in a chase or something similar cause of the one minute wait time and like my fellow legion main above already explained losing collision does not mean the killer could not down the survivor.

another important thing is that the whole you need to record proof for bhvr thing is just stupid. lets say you normal player gets body blocked for 5min. that should be punished but is it really realistic to think that the normal player has recording software set up and ready to use on his pc

Really should be a thing, would just erase the whole "but what bodyblocking is against the rules?" issue. Catching someone in a corner and charging a chainsaw? Taking a hit for a teammate? Obviously fine. Other stuff? Probably more questionable.

Even "technically not just pure undiluted griefing" stuff like "oh I blocked them to kill them with EGC 5 minutes later!" has been declared undesirable to the point where it's bannable if done before EGC has started, disable the mechanic in EGC or something if that's something that's supposed to be kept as an option.

Yeah I don't think losing collision should make the killer unable to hit survivors, with any type of attack, it's just about moving past them that I propose.

I believe this would be an excellent change! I wonder why it hasn’t been done yet truthfully

I was unaware that they were different things so I do appreciate the correction. If the hitbox can stay then I think it's a perfectly reasonable change. Even if the killer decides to slug or what have you, at least the game can progress a little more quickly.
