Unknown's effect needs a better name than 'Weakness'

Yes this is incredibly pedantic... but...

Something that has irked me about the character from day 1 is stating that survivors hit by the UVX are affected by "weakness". I realise that the survivor is hindered for 3 seconds, but "weakness" I feel doesn't quite sell it to me... especially when the 'weak' partbof it lasts such a short time...

  • Weak - 1. lacking the power to perform physically demanding tasks; having little physical strength or energy. 2. liable to break or give way under pressure; easily damaged.

It's not a word that I would really derive horror from... weakness feels like more an mild to moderate inconvenience, rather than something driving an intense fear... it also feels too attached to the physical world for my liking... and the removal of being 'weakness' by staring at the Unknown feels off somehow.

The point of the Unknown is to be mysterious, with an effect that is unclear and vague, its victims manipulated by its stolen voices and experiencing incredible dread. With the theme of it's Hallucinations and even its powers name "Unknown Venom X" and alike, the Unknown strikes me a killer that torments and manipulates the mind, making you unsure this is all even happening...

Words I might choose instead are vague terms or terms targetting the mind... things like

  • "Neurosis" - A spectrum of mental disorders that cause significant anxiety or distressing emotional symptoms. These include irrational fears, obsessive thoughts, compulsive acts, or dissociation (disconnection from yourself or the world around you).
  • "Anguish" - 1n. Severe mental or physical pain or suffering. 2v. Be extremely distressed about something.
  • "Horror" - Extreme fear. Just leave it vague, and some mysterious condition it applies that we don't understand. Let our own imagination do the work.

Something akin to this I feel sells the idea much better.
