What Ever Happened to Trusted?
I remember back in the old days of the forums some members had a red background with the tag/role "Trusted". @LordGlint is I believe the last standing whos still active.
Why was this discontinued? I think it shows appreciation from those who run the forums to the most active users, and there are several users today who I think deserve the role.

It would appear as an endorsement of views from the devs which would probably spring further conflict. Some of the most terminally online people in these forums are among the most sour individuals I've come across (who make notable jabs towards the devs themselves), you cannot open a thread without the usual 3/4 users yapping about the same stuff day in, day out or just spamming new threads ad nauseam.

I can't speak for the system of how it works.
However it's kind of a tough situation when it comes to giving "Trusted" to the really active forum members ( I would think ). As typically when they're extremely active on the forums just through being a human you make some bad posts or accidentally break a forum rule here or there. It's in other words very hard to post that often and be that extremely active while still having a "pristine" record if you will. Which I would imagine would make it hard to get a Trusted title I would think. I've made a few mistakes myself, it's hard not to after so many posts. Some of us highly active people can also come off a bit abrasive in our posts as well, it happens when you're extremely passionate about something unfortunately, even if you do try your best. We just love this game that much.
Maybe it's just for super positive people on the forums though, not necessarily most active? Not sure.

Trusted members usually had unbiased views and were some of the most chill and respected members on the forums. I can think of several people who deserve that recognition

It's just a weird system, personally I'm not here for appreciation, I just want to feel like my voice is being heard regarding the game's changes and that naturally comes with being passionate which you summarized really nicely about what it causes. I also made a fair share of mistakes here (big and small) and I've learnt from it but it'll always be a shadow over me.
Unbiased views and being chill are hard to come across and it would just lead to conflict as to why x got it and not y when x did this bla bla bla.

For the record, I actually wasn't a "Trusted". I got my red pfp from a much shorter lived program called community member of the month. They planned on giving it to 1 person each month... and it lasted like 3 months.

Gimme! I can be trusted, I promise. I'm totally unbiased and I certainly never have a bad / hot take.
Really, it's kind of hard to say, if that is even such a good idea for a system. As @Blueberry explained there are some issues, if it is based on activity. I mean, try to make a hundred posts and never upset anyone. That's pretty hard. It's all too easy to be baited into something and say things that are less than friendly.
Well, unless of course you are a cold, unfeeling and calculating machine. @TheSingularity is not bound by emotion, so we can trust it to always act on personal gain. That's the purest form of honesty.
You do, friend. How you manage to keep such a positive attitude not only towards the game but towards the community as well is nothing short of a miracle. Keep it up!

They were going to rework it but given the climate of this game I personally believe it’s best to allow only the moderators to be ‘trusted.’
People can be civil, polite, and kind but when it comes to posting I’ve not seen any member, beyond moderators, on this forum with an unbiased view point. And I suspect the only reason moderators appear unbiased is because they engage very little with theoretical posts.
Any sort of prestige status would lead to infighting and suspicion. Fog Whisperers don’t even have a distinction from regular gamers in this forums.

I would love if they brought something like this back. Just some kind of little interaction thing in the forums would be neat.
If were talking forum nostalgia I think I miss @Orion the most. I enjoyed reading their PoV on most subjects here.

Well, now I'm depressed again.
I feel terrible because I argued with them about the NFT stuff and they absolutely did not believe it was true.
Then the post happened and they swore off DBD and the Forums. Seems to have kept that promise as well :(

Appreciate it mate, coming up to a year now being in these forums. There are so many people here like yourself who have been a joy to debate with and learn from. There have been numerous people who you can really learn a lot from here just by asking. 😅
There have been plenty of times I've had my own perspectives challenged, and a number of times I've had to rethink my stance or have to admit I've been completely proven wrong. There is nothing more satisfying than feeling like you come away from an argument having learned something, and you get that a lot in these forums.
I do believe being here has genuinely made me a better DBD player. Exploring the different perspectives and getting others thoughts tends to level out my own bias, and adapting other people's thought patterns into my own gameplay has helped me no end... the only scary thing is, I'm at that point in the game now where I'm startimg to get a handle on how much I don't know xD
But seriously, (and yes this absolutely shameless flattery to farm for up votes 😏), it continues to be an absolute joy sharing enthusiasm for this game with everyone here. You guys are awesome 🤘😁🤘
