Which DbD year is your fav?

Year 8 is easily my fav honestly. It was just so good year, we got amazing chapters.

And it's funny because year 7 is opposite, it's worst year. Except Wesker, all of killers are just boring or bad designed. And i am not fan of any of survivors as well, except Rebecca. Overall, it's bad year.

It is hard to avoid the nostalgia of when you started the game and I am no different here. I started Jan 2019 and my best memories of DBD were back then, Monto and No0b3 were riding high, the Coldwind realm maps were all at night, there was no SM or Knight etc and Urban was still kinda meta as you didn't want to get caught in a Hag match without it right?

Though a lot of things are far better in modern DBD so if I had to make a second choice I would say current year (just the tunnelling is a bit much these days).

Started playing in year 2, game I brought from Argos had Huntress included.

Favourite year would be year 4, although I was super immersed in the new chapter releases and hype at the back end of year 5 into 6. Started watching all the chapter reveals with the big name streamers.

    So 4-6 for me.

Years 2 and 3 easily for me. Year 5 Silent Hill chapter was enough to push me to finally make a forum account just to give the devs a huge W on obtaining SH license.

Year 1 to 4. After that the game was changed a lot.

Especially after MMR added and patch 6.1.0 with the mayor perk overhaul, they killed the game for me. I still play for the rifts, but I see myself playing less and less nowadays. Probably a bit burned out on it as well, but it began after MMR and the perk overhaul.

I don't care how unbalanced it was back then, I could manage myself just fine with both killer and survivor.

Thats really hard, because every year had some postive and some negative. I mainly focus on the killers, since survivors are only perks and maps actually had its peak in the first years.

Year 1: No idea, i have not been around.

Year 2: Actually great, good killers, great licenses.

Year 3: Would be the Goat, but old Legion ruins it for me. Not even Ash can change that.

Year 4: Also amazing, but old Deathslinger with quickscope was such a joke.

Year 5: Silent Hill and Blight were awesome chapters overall. Twins and Trickster not so much.

Year 6: Overall pretty meh. Pinhead and especially Artist big stinkers.

Year 7: Wesker is amazing and the only reason its not the by far worst year. We dont need to talk about SM and Knight.

Year 8: Meh. Alien is annoying, even to this date. Chucky cool license, braindead killer. The rest was decent.

    Year 3.

It marked a new beginning for the game, and I have several fond memories of it.

Year 4 simply because it gave me Ghostface.

It’s also the only year where I don’t think anything problematic or broken was released so even without Ghostface it would still win.

Freddy alone makes Year 2 absolutely amazing, but Year 3 is hard to beat.

Heh, that is when I started playing the game! I have many fond memories of that time, back when DBD was easily one of the best games I've ever played.

Year 6 cause of sadako. Never thought I would see such a horror figure in this game. 😁🥰🥰🥰

Year 2 or year 3. Back when the game was actually fun and required some use of your brain. The game had hype moments and both sides could express more of their gaming ability. The game was wild both equally oppressive and exhilarating. Overpowered stuff on both sides, that made it fun.

Ever since then the game has only been dumbed down. Survivors fun continues to be taken away. Killer has been made baby mode easy.

Take me back to year 2 or 3.

Every year that passes is the best one, honestly. There's always something to complain about, but DBD has steadily gotten better and better, with more and more content and variety.

Except 2018 though. Lost all my progress, and although I was somewhat refunded, I still lost my legacy skins that year and all the retired offerings - still sad about that.

It sucks to see you gone, I really liked your posts.

I think the first half of year 7 was great because Dredge was something new for BHVR, their first non-human original killer. Dredge's power is also quite cool. It may not be the strongest killer, but it's a unique change of pace in power design and a good direction for power design. Wesker is incredible too.

For my favorite? Year 3 is probably the one that stands out to me the most. It shifted the killer meta a lot: we got Pop Goes the Weasel to enter the ring, Bamboozle as a popular perk, Spirit Fury + Enduring being popular, the incredible Discordance, and the replacement of old Hex: Ruin Corrupt Intervention. It's not as much for the survivor side but year 3 brought perks that had potential if they were buffed: Windows of Opportunity, Distortion, and Buckle Up for instance. Other perks that entered the ring of popularity include Deliverance and the controversial Mettle of Man which was an interesting shift for the survivor meta, even if it didn't last very long.

We also got Clown, who's not just an anti-loop killer, but he is THE anti-loop killer, the original one! Spirit, whose playstyle is very unique as she relies on sound to pinpoint locations, and The Plague, a unique twist on a ranged killer and requires strategy on both sides to prove which side is the more skillful.

The year brought my favorite maps, Temple of Purgation and Father Campbell's Chapel. Chapel may not be as good as it used to be (in my opinion), but it's still Chapel at heart and I love it for that.

The only true downsides of the year in my opinion are Mettle of Man and the launch of Legion, but MoM does have the upside of shifting the meta. The launch of Legion was atrocious, a killer who could literally down you through windows and pallets while running faster than normal killer speed. The current Legion is a lot better and more fun to play as & more fun to play against.

Year 3 was also when I started playing DBD! A week after Legion's launch.

Year one was the best because the game was a complete mess and not so serious.

I mean, when your every second comment is "oh devs hate survivors", "oh devs don't care about survivors at all", "all survivor's content is garbage", what is obviously not true and exaggeration, you can expect it.

I am against bans, I have no clue why she is banned, but at least you can expect it here with such statements.

I always remind myself that it's the internet and I have unlimited time to respond. I don't have to do it that very second. Sometimes I step away for a bit then when I come back I find I don't even care about the topic anymore and my desire to engage is gone. But still, we are all just human and sometimes our emotions get the better of us :(

    GG. gone but not forgotten

Who can say where the road goes?

Where the day flows? Only time

And who can say if your love grows

As your heart chose? Only time

Who can say why your heart sighs

As your love flies? Only time

And who can say why your heart cries

When your love lies? Only time

Who can say when the roads meet?

That love might be in your heart?

And who can say when the day sleeps

If the night keeps all your heart?

    Night keeps all your heart

Who can say if your love grows

As your heart chose? Only time

And who can say where the road goes?

Where the day flows? Only time

Year 3 I'll call my favorite because it contained both my favorite survivor and killer.

5 is my least favorite because of how lazy the Twins update was. ZERO of the perks worked on release, the killer was only good for camping and there was no map. Actually quit playing for a while when that update dropped.

While at the time I was extremely salty with the current state of the game, 2021 was the most fun for me. I referred to survivor as "bots with perks" as everyone ran the same stuff and played the same way. I was already relatively nice in that time compared to me being a perfect example of a nice killer now.

Thing is I could try really hard, I could actually feel tilted or really happy based on what happened. Now it's just meh. Ok I ran 0 slowdown, no add-ons, didn't kick a gen and 8-hooked everyone but I still won while playing on a survivor sided map while playing at the most optimal time for mmr to work properly and half the time I get two really good survivors but the other two weight them down into a pit. Survivor play hasn't improved they just lack the perks to prop them up, kinda like killers these days.

I could be mad, run my strongest loadout even if I wasn't technically going all out. Now I have to limit myself to the point of unfun. There's a reason I've been able to play league for 11 years now, even while chilling I can still go 70% try hard and feel no remorse(although if i'm willing I still have 0% remorse at 100% try hard). In dbd all I feel is remorse. No reason for me dominate. Keep in mind my 30 hour survivor friend is on average worth more than the classic 2k hour dbd nea I get. People just suck at this game and don't want to try, then they complain when they lose while not trying and not being good.

Dbd has completely changed for me as killers are the bots now, they don't deserve remorse but my teamates readily give it to them. My friend half trying is way better to have on my team than the average survivor player and even bots could be welcomed.

I so badly want to improve at survivor, but survivors don't allow me to.

I’m pretty sure it’s a temporary ban on second strike and permanent ban on third strike. I think this is it for them since I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them banned once before.

May they rise from the ashes and reincarnate as SablewantyourInvocation (I’m bad at names).

Year 8 has to be my favorite so far with Sable being my first survivor I actively want to main and getting Alien in DBD even if I don't main Xeno having them is still very cool and I wouldn't say DBD missed with anything this year at all as far as releases go.

This is especially good with year 7 being DBD's worst year content wise (I would have said year 5 but Silent Hill does a lot to save it) and hopefully they can keep it up in year 9.
