Scourge hook : pain res

I love using this perk as killer its literally amazing but I honestly I feel it needs a nerf

I feel when you hook someone with pain res on a sh that hook disable the ability to use pain res on that specific hook you still have three other hooks to use but when you hook someone on the sh it disables pain res on that hook untill there's no more tokens left

It gets pretty annoying having a Gen 99 then the killer uses 3 tokens and takes 75 immediately cause he letting survivor take turns going on that hook

    wasn’t a large reason it was changed was because constant dead man’s switch pain res was awful to play against

    In the dev update that was posted for that change, one of the devs (I believe Peanits) literally mentioned that one of the main reason they changed it was because campers could just repeatedly use the same hook to use Pain Res like 7 times ("hook recycling").

    DMS is still a potent combo with it and it's now even stronger with Grim Embrace (in fact nearly every games is a mix of Pain Res, Pop, DMS and Grim Embrace due to the good slowdown it offers without blocking the gens early despite not wanting to 3-gen).

    It was among the best slowdown perks in the game then and it's arguably the best one now despite it's flaws since almost every other ones are now counter-productive.

    I actually think it's one of the more fair gen regression/stall effects considering you need to get a down get them on a specific hook and it has to be on a unique survivor each time and you can only do it 4 times.

    Compare this to Deadlock which is 30 seconds of stall cuz the survivors did their objective or Corrupt which the killer gets for *checks notes* loading into the game and I don't think it's a problem.

    Don't get me wrong I think it would be boring if everything triggered on hooks I'm just saying it's hard to say a perk with so many conditions to fulfill is overpowered or unfair.

    It already requires a hook on a unique survivor as well as only being available four time on 4 randomly spawned hooks that may be in terrible areas.

    It encourages killers to spread out hooks in order to get their regression which is healthy for the game. As far as it's combos with DMS and GE, they have the same counter: let go of the gen before the hook happens and don't get back on until GE ends, that way DMS won't trigger.

    I'd rather pop be nerfed back into the ground(I'm not biased I haven't kicked a gen in 2+ years now)

    Pain res is fine in a vacuum but stacking certain things on top of it tips it over the edge.

    Either pop and PR get a minor nerf each or one gets destroyed, I'd be surprised if PR didn't get deleted since pop got a buff recently.

    If you actually used the perk, you'd know that this would make it so Pain Res is only usable 1-2 times per match. In most cases, Scourge Hooks spawn too far away from where the match is being played, so there are hooks that you literally won't even reach the whole match.

    Pain Res is a strong perk because it makes the killer NOT tunnel if they want to get value from it, and it's in a pretty good state right now, there's no need to change it
