Dev wearing Friday the 13th patch in the live stream - does it mean anything?
In the All Things Wicked live stream the creative director Dave Richard was wearing a denim jacket that had a patch with a hockey mask on it and also the words "Crystal Lake" so it's undoubtedly a friday the 13th reference.
What do you make of it?

Considering what Mr. Cote had said on the King's interview recently im gonna guess it was just a coincidence and not a hint

I know he said something along the lines of who owns the rights is confusing so they can't bother with it right now.
But i mean previously what he's said regarding licenses has been misleading.
He said netflix still wasn't talking with him last year but a few months later the stranger things chapter returned.
When it came to chucky he said it wouldn't be very fun playing as victor all match but it did happen.
This just sticks out to me. The other licensed stuff that the people on the live stream were wearing are in dead by daylight. Ghost face cap, and a evil dead t-shirt.
Could mean nothing but it does stick out to me.

He also said Chucky wasn't a good fit for dbd, then we got him less than a year later? Mr Cote lies to his player base often, so not a good source. I know it was probably for hype and such, but I'd rather have honesty from such an individual.

The Dev team is full of F13 fans, so I'd say Dave was just repping it for the sake of it. That said, yes please! Might not be likely right now with some currently known information (not sure if we're allowed to discuss this on the forum), but I really hope F13 comes eventually. Jason is by far the biggest horror icon not in the game, it'd be sweet to see him in the fog.

I believe this is the interview you guys are referring to. It was a pretty big deconfirmation at the time, even if timeline wise BHVR was either just about to acquire the license or had just gotten it. Dave said he was interested, so Chucky was presented as a problem the dev team thought themselves capable of solving, but hadn't yet. Very glad they managed to make him work in the end!
I do think Chucky may have been mentioned a long long time ago where he was said to be impossible because of his height, but I feel like that was sometimes around Clown, so it wouldn't really matter much as a deconfirm anyway.

I found a clip 20 secs in where Cote says it. It's from around ST, so maybe not last year, but he def might've said it around then too.

Unlike Jason though he never straight up denied Stranger Things or Chucky in the King/Paulie Esther interview, he just expertly dodged the question.
If I remember correctly he said Stranger Things was something he couldn’t talk about and in the hands of Netflix, and Chucky he said it would depend on if they believe the game has reached a point where a little doll would fit the game but never denied him.
Jason however he said he wasn’t happening anytime soon due to the licensing being a nightmare and that he would make an offer as soon as the chance presents itself.
Also unlike Chucky and Stranger Things they never asked Cote about Jason, Cote brought him up as an example of the difficulties with licensing. If Jason was happening at that point then I don’t think he would have brought him up.

I wouldn’t count future license talks like that as lies to be fair.
he can not just confirm which license they are currently working on or trying to acquire as there are NDAs and may break trust relations with the license holders and actively go against their own marketing as well. Saying something like ‚I Can not talk about this specific license right now‘ is also pretty much some sort of confirmation.. he shouldn’t deconfirm something completely when it’s already being worked on, sure. But unjust don’t think it’s fair to blame him/BHVR in this case.
On Topic: can very well be a hint, they have made all sorts of hints before (eg the ‚stars’ comment for the new years message followed by RE chapter for anniversary or the Pyramidhead shaped 4). I wouldn’t takeout as confirmation at all especially considering the convoluted license holder stuff but nice catch!
