How is Oni not killswitched?
There is literally a gamebreaking bug with Oni atm where he can short lunge (about the same as T1 Myers) when carrying a survivor. Played now against 2 backpack build Onis in the space of a play session and they can literally travel near crossmap lunge attack spamming while carrying. Seems like a pretty easy disable no? It's not even like this is new, this was reported first on the bug reports thread 24 hours ago, whats the hold up

Why should Oni be killswitched though. AFAIK it's a bug that happens when he has the perk Mad Grit. Maybe they should disable the perk first instead of a whole Killer?

Oh good shout actually, never considered it could be a perk causing it. I'll have to hop into a custom and test it out.

Afaik, it only affects Oni, for some strange reason. Makes me wonder if his lunge is coded different for some reason.
When Knight had the Nowhere To Hide bug, they disabled both him and the perk. TBF, Knight's bug was a little more gamebreaking.
as for why he isn't killswitched, he's getting a new skin in the upcoming event - Maybe a portion of the challenges are related to him. Oni is our resident blood-loving boy. it'd probably disrupt their schedule.
This is all just assumptions, though.

Just tested it in a custom game, the bug in fact lies on Oni, worked both with and Without Mad Grit

The bug only happens with the perk Mad Grit, yeah. When he isn't using it, normal carrying survivor lunge. At least i didn't notice anything when I played him yesterday.

This needs to be explained a bit better. What is the bug exactly? Does swinging cause the wiggle timer to pause when not hitting a survivor? Does the Oni swing further than a standard carry swing?

Oni swings further than a standard carry swing. It's about the same as a full lunge I think.

Id rather just see mad grit killswitched since that's the only real way to abuse it, otherwise its kind of silly just doing a normal lunge while carrying a survivor

Since this is an Oni only issue, I wonder if it'd be possible to Killswitch the perk only for him. That way he remains playable, and the perk is still usable on most killers.

Could be possible, who knows. It's been 48 hours now and BHVR are aware tho so I wonder if they're gonna do anything at all

The only thing I can think of is they don't think it's as important as you think it is, or they don't want to have two killers kill-switched.

I really don't think a bug that's so situational you need a backpack build to exploit it is worth killswitching over

i think it works both with and without mad grit, the difference is that when he has mad grit he has no cooldown on his lunge attacks so he's essentially running at lunge speed (6 m/s)

Yeah this exactly. Idk why he isnt kill switched yet, they're always fast to disable flashlights/Knight

I would kill to see an Oni in my games, I haven't had an Oni in ages.
