What did i do to deserve that?
Yes i know i quick switched and I made sure to include that part in the video so that i dont hid anything but he had lightborn anyway so did it really end up mattering? Yes i was running a gimmick build because i dont like running full meta builds (thats boring) but basically all of my perks were useless. I didnt tbag or bm and still got hard tunneled and hit on the hook for some reason. What exactly was the deal here?

you already said, you quick switched, the killer disliked it and killed you
18 -
You got tunneled out by a baby Billy who cant wait to find himself in higher MMR. Once there, he will come to the forum and complain how unfair survivor is. Nothing unusual tbh.
27 -
soooo basically a normal game of dbd

I've noticed some killers take offense to quick switching. Those who pay attention to the lobby, that is.
Doing it is usually a bad idea.

Getting the first person hooked out of the game quickly is pretty common these days. They may have targeted you for the last second switch but it's just as likely you got the short straw that game.
4 -
Is 1 person quick switching all that bad? I'm a Solo player and I spend that 60+ seconds spending BP and try to quickly switch before I get locked in a survivor I wasn't intending on playing.
5 -
I kind of had to do it. The past two games where i had my claire in the lobby from the beginning i had killers brings “hex two can play” whatever its called and while its funny, i actually want to see how this build goes. I also had killers bring lightborn after this match too. Over 1flashlight

I wonder what he thought of my build, very sweaty lol

Quick switching is just BMing before the game even started.
8 -
Doubt they even check anything besides the death symbol next to your name.
1 -
Why tho? I get back then when people used to quick switch into keys, but i quick switched into a flashlight when they had Lightborn already. So what exactly is the problem?
3 -
Killer was probably just bad at killer so had to do that most of them are tunnel carries them. Its okay he will just be crying when he gets to high mmr and gets pub stomped every game and come to the forums to whine.

People always have some sort of excuse for their lousy attitude.
1 -
Yup that sum up the reason. I only do it to meds and tool boxes.
1 -
If he tunnel numerous survivors then he would be losing at high mmr. No one will go down that quick against a mediocre.
0 -
That's literally what I just said.

if only i had a better build and my teammates didnt waste two minutes in the basement for that praying perk….i would have gone differently

it*

He clearly was mad at me about something since he hit me on the hook at the end. Im also p100 idk if that has to do with it as well?

It could be. Whilst there are plenty of chilled out killer players, there are some who genuinely despise survivor players. Absolutely anything will set them off.

Or a good one with a name like mine ;)
Lightborn is another perk that heavily needs reviewed. Its SO much power in one perk. And unlike UW, doesn't even have a BS activation cost, it just... is.
I dont think you had ill intentions, but switching like that has bad vibes since near beginning of dbd. Doing so is at your own risk, sadly. Some (most?) Killers will use it automatically as an excuse to feel better about tunneling you. Just move onto the next game :)

Some people take this game way too seriously. I usually switch when 30 seconds remain. Wait 5 if I'm last to ready. Then ready. If someone takes an issue with that they are going to take issue with any number of potential invisible things that break their version of the DBD rulebook.
Some of the rule book is fair enough, the game is just not made for playing competitively unless you have specific rules in place. However some things like this, especially if its not done for obnoxious reasons (friends en masse switching to a flashlight seconds before starting with malicious intent) you just can't win with some people, you are going to make someone mad no matter what.
To be fair if you did quick switch to a flashlight despite them running lightborn, they might just be triggered by some other jerks in a previous game playing stupid games with flashlights, going down in places where it's impossible to pick them up without getting blinded and basically making it impossible to play the game without resorting to slugging everyone.

I did and they didnt get any better, tunneling artist, tunneling huntress with a mori, and then i did escape vs a deathslinger but he had lightborn too (ugghhhh) and he tunneled one of my teammates out. Just unfortunate l. Also that billy game was my first one of the day. Amazing start

Yeah, it sucks when you get matches like that right from the start. I hadn't played the game for a few days. Earlier I watched a funny moments compilation of the game, and decided to boot it up.
I played a solo match. One person yeeted themselves, two disconnected and the killer bled me out for the lulz. The desparity of what I saw in the video and what I experienced almost gave me whiplash. Sometimes your first match is bad enough to stop you playing a second.

Dang they bleed you out for nothing, yeah u think you can have fun in this game but the other side comes to ruin it lol

lol. Ill be getting home in an hour. Cant wait to hop and and probably have your start as well lol.
Anyone wanna customs later? If by chance @GeneralV is interested, I'd love to see his Fred'ster!

Well, when someone last second switches in my games I assume a competitive or try hard mindset as killer.
But in my games you wouldn't face tunneling but complete ignorance.
Last second switch in my casual games and I won't interact with you.
From my experience last second switcher are the biggest attention seekers or sweat lord's, so deal with them by not dealing with them.
Sorry for anyone that's the exception but that's what playing this game since release does to killers.
Same with the extinction of most relaxed, casual playing killers. They get owned and/or BM'ed, get fed up with and either quit dbd, switch to survivor or join the other try hard killer giving no f about survivor and start playing however necessary to win.

Contrary to what you might hear on the forums, not all killer players are saints that only behave like that when someone has wronged them. Some of them are just rotten. Just like survivors.

You angered the Bubba. Well the Billy in this case but same principle.
I included a video that has six helpful tips to avoid this. It's older now but still applies to your match.
You broke nearly all of these rules. Silly Claire.
This video will help explain why all these things happen. Enjoy.

Lol funny thing is i always bring dumb builds and some games they just dont do anything because of games like that
1 -
I remember this video, it was really accurate vs bubba players.
1 -
Also silly claire 😂
1 -
Wow it has been awhile lol. And lol @ "Silly Claire." I legit choked on my drink.
2 -
Ah I remember the days survivors use to quick switch with keys on good times

I doubt this was anything personal. He just tunneled you because tunneling is the most effective way to play and you were the first to go down.
0 -
Idk the hit on the hook at the end made it feel like it was personal
0 -
I had never heard that one before. “Toxic claire” yes but silly claire? Nah lmao

I don't think you have to find the reason by you but by the killerplayer. Tunnling is very easy when you don't have any perk against it or teammates that can protect you. The hit on the hook could be something else instead of a bm (misunderstanding you think it was bm but the killer did it for another reason). So the player tunnels not because of you but because jt was easy to do it. Maybe - another theory - their matches before were miserable and the player was angry about it and decided that you have to suffer for that. It also could be that the player always plays like this (some players like it when the otherside suffers).
The last second switch is okay. You switched to another survivor with flashlight. It could be a different story when all four survivors did a last second switch to a survivor with strong item and compoutfits.
However, I guess it is the best to move on and not to waste time on a miserable experience. Sometimes situations like these happen - in very game - but this does not mean every match will be the same or every killer is like this Billyplayer.
Also good chase from you (the sneaky part around the junglegym was nice to see) and fun build!

I could have played better if i just predropped the other pallets but i didnt want to because i find that boring. And also if i knew he had lightborn then i would have gained some distance. Also thank you!

If I go to a generator and I see two survivors, one of them troll-switched and one didn't, I'm going for the switcher.
3 -
I generally take a last-second switch as the survivor flexing their pecs at me and will make a point to try and kill them first
1 -
But if I stay as my main, I get dodged because “p100”
2 -
Quick switching at all shouldn't be a thing, so yes. Survivors should be locked into their builds during the last 15 seconds of the countdown.
1 -
Once they get rid of lobby dodging, sure
3 -
It's a match that makes you feel itchy to watch. A combination of clumsiness has led the killer to believe that these are survivors who are easy to tunnel through. The deciding factor was that I applied for treatment on the spot after my first rescue. This gave the killer the intention to tunnel. Even if you're chasing other survivors, if you can walk straight into the area, Billy will naturally raise his chainsaw and charge towards you. You're good at chasing after that, but if possible, you should have used another window to chase in the main building.
The worst part was a mistake in judgment by my teammates. One survivor didn't know what he was trying to do, but he took one hit for no reason, and in the illusion that he was hiding, he took another hit and went down. From Billy's point of view, this would have led the survivors to believe that if they tunneled like this, they would self-destruct.
There was also a slight problem with the movements of the survivors as they body-blocked Billy, who was carrying you at the end. Once you were lifted off your shoulders, the survivors should have dispersed, healed themselves, and waited for the perfect opportunity to rescue you. They forced you to wake up, giving Billy a chance to reach the hook.
You weren't targeted because you had a light. After knocking you down, the survivors' actions made Billy think it would be a good idea to tunnel you. If Billy didn't find any trace of you when he rushed in with a chainsaw, there was a high possibility that he was chasing another survivor. And for that reason, the survivor who rescued you should have taken on the role of decoy.

Because of p100 lobby dodging and im tired of lightborn. I didnt even bring a sweaty build too

Last second switching is saying "not only do I want to run something I KNOW you won't like, I also want you to have no chance to prepare for it."
Going into a game like this, handing the killer a reason to dislike you over the other three survivors isn't a smart move.
8 -
You quick switched, easy answer. That is THE sign for: I do not know sportmanship, i am a toxic player.
9 -
It really is that simple.
I am the least sweaty tunnelling/camping killer imaginable but for some reason the quick/6 second switch really pisses me off
3 -
You can do it, of course, but should you? In the end it didn't matter much because the killer had Lightborn, but it is a form of BM, nonetheless.
I'll be honest, my friend, I have zero sympathy for last-second switching. As awful as it is to deal with tunneling, this time it was warranted.
I never do it. I rarely use items anyway, so there is no reason to.
Ha, to be honest I'm barely playing him recently. Been playing the Unknown and Skull Merchant.
I am a bit tired of simply not having a power.
