I spend 2 min doing Innvocation just to be countered by Grim Embrace

I am never playing and using this perk ever again. I am so done with this F tier garbage perk. Countered by whole meta killer perks, by all aura/screaming powers instints, auras, interaptions and on top gen blocking perks on top? And this is "on purpose" designed? Nah man, you can keep that perk. Worst perk ever.

Its like the same trap perk as Potential Energy on my soloQ teammates yet this one is even worse. I allready hate when someone using Potential Energy when repairing a gen with me only to just use its effect on the same gen (huge time waste). That perk on its own is allready pretty awfull and add people who don't even know how and when to use it.

At least potential energy can have some use in a SWF and help you get the last gen done quickly if you coordinate it right.

I just see no scenario where weaving spiders is worth it.

I've had it used against me about 6 times and all of those ended in a 3-4k except the one where I was running the injure-only billy addon and intentionally going for 8 hooks 0 kills

Totally agree with this, I tried it a couple of times just for the novelty and quickly realised I would have been far better off doing important gens

I’ve yet to see anyone use this perk. None of my teammates or the survivors I face have used it, even Sables aren’t running it.

There’s no reason it shouldn’t work on blocked gens, especially when the original PTB version did. It already had a ton of drawbacks there’s no need for it to randomly not activate.

    Never use this perk again

While the perk is weak, its ridiculous to think they they specifically "designed" this perk to be bad to help killers. That is disingenuous. Its a new type of perk, and they are being conservative with it, because they aren't sure how it will go. We will likely see it be buffed a couple of more times before it gets to a good place, and then later when they release new invocation perks we'll see what kinds of things will be unlocked with it.

Ive come across this a lot. 5 games total where it was a real issue. My worse group was two people who swore up and down it was actually good with no mither then flamed and abused me when I started asking them to do basic math to prove the perk wasn't good. 'It's 60 seconds with two people', yeah which gives you 120 gen charges compared to 63 if you just did gens you morons.

Sure waste 2 perks and be broken and a liability in so many ways. I'd rather you run blank spots in those perks. Not to mention no mither outright basically tells the killer what you are trying to do, especially if you are playing as Sable.

It is pretty sad that this is the way a new mechanic was chosen to be added to the game. Regardless of the official branding weaving spiders is 100% a killer perk.

I'm wondering if the perk can get away with removing the broken status effect. The 2 minutes' commitment is pretty hefty as-is, especially when the payoff gets less and less as more gens are finished.

Like, the time investment has to be more than 70 seconds because of the charge reduction being permanent (barring blocked gens which is...), but 120 seconds, _on top_ of the broken status effect is just too much.

If you played a solo queue game and had a teammate running this, and the killer had Grim Embrace and Corrupt and the survivor kept restarting to invocation while you repeatedly tunneled or your teammates were tunneled, and then like you all weren’t able to complete any gens and you and this other person are the last two survivors left alive (at 4-5 gens) and they’re still doing the invocation how would you honestly feel/react?

    Reinami Member Posts: 5,653

Again, i just told you, that it is likely that the perk will get buffed. But you can't honestly truly believe the devs were like "Hey, lets make a perk that is actually so bad that it helps the killer instead, because ######### those solo queue survivors"

I’m asking how you would specifically deal with a situation like I described with the current version of the perk.

  • Reinami
    Reinami Member Posts: 5,653

And i'm literally telling you, the perk is probably underpowered and will see buffs. Can you point to anything i said that would imply that i think the perk is fine in its current state?

  • Ayodam
    Ayodam Member Posts: 3,222

I don’t think you believe it’s fine. I just wondered how you, as a player, would deal with that specific situation in game. Yes, it’s clear you think the perk is pretty bad. I’m going to assume if you saw the scenario I described in-game you’d feel frustrated and annoyed. And you may even attempt to leave the game because of it. Is this a fair analysis?

Welp. And there you have it. Another new mechanic survivor perk thrown down the drain along with teamwork perks and boom perks which are honestly on life support. But that's nothing new.

I like the perk personally but I have to make a whole build around it which is the part I don’t like. (No mither build, resilience etc)

  • Reinami
    Reinami Member Posts: 5,653

Not really, because i can't control what other people do, no point in getting upset over it. Also, no i would never leave the game because i believe that leaving the game, or killing yourself on hook should be punishable by ban. Permaban if you do it enough even. Because THAT is what annoys me more than anything.

If I were to see it come clutch, it could work well with SWF whom nearly full repair all the generator and leave them at 90% progress left and then this perk when the ritual is complete can hammer all the generator simultaneously. But, with regression killer perks being so common. Especially for the fact that generator blocking perks can block any form of progress and regression from both sides, this perk can be pretty much useless when complete and leave with such a massive downside of being broken the entire time. Just a worse version of no mither.

I use Teritorial Imperative and had most likely a trio of Sable's trying to get it done quick and it was a blood bath. It isn't worth using and the people who somehow managed to use it usually die because they are broken.
