Yellow tape...
So I noticed it this update, I'm not sure if it was this one in specific since I haven't been playing religiously since this one, but WHY IS THERE YELLOW TAPE EVERYWHERE NOW😭
At first I thought it was just midwich but no its in Red Forest and Lery's as well and I KNOW neither of those maps had the tape before hand. I curse Resident Evil for starting this trend its so ugly and made the maps even more immersion breaking than some of them already are😭
Devs please we are not children we don't need yellow tape littering every surface to know we can use it we can just walk up to it instead

i think it works in spots that are a bit ambiguous as to whether they're vaults or not, but they're really not necessary in your classic maze tiles.

I just feel like there are so much better more immersive ways to show a spots a vault. Like how about on GOJ instead of yellow tape its Vine overgrowth? Tbh I think Lery's and Midwich did good jobs at this as well how they were before the yellow taping.

The yellow tape is ugly as hell, looks out of place on most maps, and isn't necessary in the majority of places it's put. I'm starting to resent Resident Evil for inspiring DbD's map designers to keep copy-pasting this crap everywhere.
Signposting vault locations is good but you don't need to lazily re-use the same dumb thing on every map. You can make different things that match the map's aesthetics.

Can we please keep this post at the top for awhile? It's such a small thing, but really? I'm all for better map learning tools for beginners, but the earlier maps were fine already and it's really immersion breaking. It was fine for the RE maps because those were straight from the RE remakes, but the rest simply don't fit the vibe. I liked the vaults being specific to maps.

It's the same as pallets. The idea that the average player would be too dumb to work out that pallets work the same way on every map if they had different appearances that match the map has never held much weight for me.

Real. When I saw the Raccoon Police Station for the first time I was like "Oh thats so cool yellow tape like in the games!" Little did we all know the can of worms it was about to open...

Yeah, it wasn't even needed on most windows at all. Before it was restricted to maybe a few less obvious vaults but really do we need it on EVERY SINGLE MAZE TILE?
I still am not sure what the thought process was for this change. I've been back into playing DBD a lot and I really can't believe its quite literally on almost every map😭only one I didn't see it on so far is Coldwind :(
