(Note i don't think hes broken or anything deserving of a nerf. Not my intention) This might be because hes just a pub stomper and solo que is pretty low on the food chain. But you slap a forgiving projectile onto a character also a instant tp thats passively always happening. Throw on some regression and stall and aura reveal. Hes always around just causing constant damage and chasing with no downtime. Even with a competent solo que team we barely get to end game maybe. (Last game was down to me and one other player) I even try to dispel the clones but with the iri and the green he can have 2 for every one i get rid of. And with the projectile splashing through walls some of the wall loops in the game just DOA with him half aiming. Hes still fairly new for me so i probably havent found the hard counterplay yet. But any advice or approaches people have had facing him yet?

    Take loops a little wide

If the Unknown is in a chase with someone and you see a hallucination always dispell it. They're much worse if you take their mobility away.

In chase they're not dissimilar from most ranged killers holding W while putting objects between you nullifies a lot of their power.

Look behind you for a second then look at where you're going and alternate. There's a linger effect on looking at them so you don't actually have to look at them all the time.

Tbh his projectiles are harder to dodge than the huntress the aoe is so big.

The best thing you can do is avoid hugging walls when it's got its power out. Also, try not to force yourself into a position where it would be a guaranteed hit when you can manage it. There are some moments where it would simply be impossible to dodge (some main buildings, 4 lanes, etc) but you can also dispel it quite quickly and deny the down/injure.

If you don't look behind you then you're gonna have a rough time, also if you get matched with survivors who don't look behind them you're going to have a rough time.

I feel he is actually okay but I do think the AOE on his attack is a bit generous when it can hit you through walls without the precision prediction of say Pyramid Head or even Nurse.

He has 2 powers, come with 2 different counter/soft slowdown.

    • Hit by UVX makes you Weaken, while being Weaken, hit again by it makes you lose health state. Just like Nemesis they he needs to whip you 3 times to down, but with long range. You can counter it by look at the killer for 4 or 5 times (decreased the status by 20-25% each time you look at, with a short cooldown for each success looking at the killer.
    • Killer drops Hallucination randomly, you can come next to it and disable. As you should because killer can teleport to it in an instant. You dont want killer to hook a teammate then instantly tele to your Gen across the map. You should only do this when killer busy with someone else.

It's power is a bit downplayed when reading it through text versus actually playing against it. I find myself having similar issues and I have yet to read much real solid advice on the topic that translates from paper to actual gameplay. I already look behind me, head on a swivel in a chase.

One of the better tips i've seen is to fully commit to the dispel to avoid getting Killer Instinct on you. Shift + W gameplay and LOS blockers reign supreme, but their effectiveness relies on the resources around you in chase. Play his hallucinations like a PH box where the best time to dispel/solve is when killer is preoccupied with another. The problem here is he passively sheds remnants, so you have to really stay on top of this, and sometimes dispelling isn't necessarily always the best solution because if it's in a part of the map that has gens already done then it's better to make the killer use it instead since it gets max 4 on map at base level.

Anyone will read, oh so I need to be hit 3 times for UVX down? Not necessarily as they can just bounce it off the ground or wall when you're injured and you'll be left thinking...Where was the 3rd hit, when did it happen? I don't think it's ever taken 3 full shots, hell even the 1 splash is enough on injured surv with status effect. The counterplay I've read about this killer is inconsistent at best so far. This killer is just confusing, fast as ######### (has no trouble keeping up with refined serum), and just has a lot going on for it rn with the instant TP, passive remnant-generating ability, and a generous UVX in its kit.
