Lampkin Lane Update Teased
Guessing there’s gonna be more cars on the road, eh?

Oh boy another lampkin touch up! Surely they'll touch the stupid main buildings on the map.

Looks like the road is gonna remain wider than the Clown tho..
And I dont see no lockers for my boy Dredge :(
3 -
I see no real difference honestly. Some more cars that‘s it.

THE WINDOW LOOKS BLOCKED NO WAY

the map actually looks really really small, bhvr is cooking something

If the picture is anything to go by, the map will still be awful. I mean, that loop in the front is not exactly fun to play around, is it? You see the killer over the car, so there is no mind gaming it and when the pallet is dropped the cars are so long that you can't be mind gamed either. Just like the other car loops. Great.
The other loop in the back is not much better. But there are no trees to make the loop bigger, so it might a little better than the ones on Autohaven Wreckers.

Looking forward to what they do. I really hope we get a Michael Myers update as well at some point, a graphical rework and gameplay update would be much appreciated
5 -
Is Blight going to have collision on all those cars? The car trunk to the right of the pallet looks like it might have questionable collision?

Given their latest track record they will probably remove all the Buildings and call it a day.
9 -
Hot tip - break the Pallet. But dont tell it anyone, it is my secret how to deal with a decent Loop.
11 -
Can't wait for no windows and even more dead zones!
10 -
This won't end well...
6 -
Hmm.. Zombie mode meets Lampkin Lane?

I see two car pallet loops. That's more than you usually get in the street.
Hopefully they balanced the house loops too.

This would be the ideal outcome. But sadly I am not so optimistic here.
The thing is, they did to Haddonfield what was always a flaw on some maps and existed as a flaw for YEARS - they made the Map a deadzone with only a few very strong Loops where the Survivors will b-line to. This was already a thing years ago with the original Grim Pantry (Map full of Deadzones with the pantry window the most safe thing ever) and they did the exact same thing with Haddonfield.
So I really fail to have the optimism that they figured it out how to make the houses suck less for Killer and how to make the rest suck less for Survivor.
2 -
You're missing the point. It's one of those pallets where you have absolutely no real interaction. You just run after the survivor to get the pallet out of the way (no mind games because then it takes longer) and then break it immediately. There is no thinking involved for either side.

Honestly that‘s what I‘m expecting, 3 more pallets in the middle. The map shrunken to a potato and the buildings without windows.
5 -
Oh I didnt even realize the cut off over there
good eye!

So they fixed it by adding more unmindgamable pallets in the middle of the map that are just predrop/no-skill pallets? Hopefully they fix the buildings though, each building having multiple god windows is stupid.
But given their track record of "fixing" garden of joy by making the main building even stronger i'm not holding onto any hope.
4 -
Another awful rework making another map more boring and killer favored.
5 -
Window vaults in builds need to go if there adding more pallets
1 -
Still waiting for the Swamp and Badham rework
0 -
Yeah looks like that will happen.
1 -
It looks interesting, ig. I really hope the developers will fix the windows issues on this map as well as making the map a little bit smaller and it looks so, the map seems smaller? However, it is a good thing that the middle of the map looks less empty
Don't worry. They will give Huntress two more Hatchet basekit and Trickster gets 40 Knifes more so they don't have to rely on lockers anymore. In case of Dredge, he will get a new skin unlike the other two.
Jk. I really hope the devs will place some lockers in the middle of the map because that's a big issue for these killers as well as lockerbased perks.

As opposed to unsafe pallets which are 80-20 favoring killers?
I agree God pallets should be incredibly sparse. But I disagree that unsafe pallets should be the norm.
To me the best pallet design is like the one in the main room of RPD near the front exit. It's not egregiously safe but it's not a free hit either.

Peak pallet design, easily one of my favorites to play in the game. Car loops are also up there for me like the ones outside of Badham Main, feel fair for both sides.

Thank God this map up next. This is the only map I play nasty on cuz it's just impossible to deal with them buildings sometimes. I'm assuming every building getting gutted which i have no problem with but there need to be actual usable Pallets. Them pallets behind them sheds trash. Way to easy to get zone. Them pallets in the garden by main building isn't bad but again a bit easy to get zone. Need way more pallets in the center as well

The one next to the gen?

Meanwhile, backwater swamp:

One of the few maps that's uniquely terrible for everybody.
I had the pleasure of being sent here as Pinhead last night and I counted 4 Gens on the middle of the road.all survivors camped houses refusing to do anything until a "chase" started, but then they'd immediately bee line to a house if I came their way. Not even the Box did anything. Couldn't hold the street, couldn't chase, couldn't do anything.
If I kept playing Unknown I would have been fine, but M1 on this level is so, so brutal. Locker spawns are abysmal, too.
When it comes to discussions regarding Knight or Artist, people are quick to despise them because you can't loop them, you have to hold W and thats boring. Yet Haddonfield is *the* hold w map but that's one of its redeeming qualities for Survivor.
I play this level as Survivor and I just get the "proxy at max range" Huntress

By adding more windows.
1 -
Can’t wait to see it! 😊

This map is a design disaster. It has a gigantic central deadzone because every house has at least two windows where most killers don't have much to do but wait for them to block. It doesn't have a single structure that can be won by skill or mindgames. The theme of the map is the big culprit of this, because there are no regular basic structures.
2 -
BHVR should never add more lockers to maps, because that would be an unnecessary survivor buff.
BHVR should create a new killer-only locker, that killers can interact with, but survivors can't hide inside. And BHVR can fill in locker deadzones with these killer-only lockers. That would be the most fair solution.
0 -
Are you really afraid of lockers😂?
6 -
There is absolutely no way my own two eyes are seeing someone suggest lockers are survivor sided in 2024.
13 -
They've probably fixed windows in the houses and added more resources to the road
1 -
Yes.
Hard agree, I think that's what BHVR should strive for.
1 -
What?

Ill have whatever hes having

If they put more stuff for survivors in the middle of the map (which looks like they are doing) but nerf the houses, that'll be good. Right now Haddonfield just kinda sucks for both sides.
1 -
The dead zone isn't really a big deal since no sane survivor would choose it as a chase location. The palette added to view Images is also quite useful, so it feels appropriate to increase it slightly and nerf the windows of houses instead.
0 -
They make these maps any smaller and they'll need to reduce the gen requirement to power gates to 4.
It's already ridiculous how many 3 gen opportunities killers get in the newer maps.
3 -
Thats the thing, IDEALLY the maps should have LOADS of pallets, but mostly unsafe. But this can only work if Bloodlust is removed, because Bloodlust makes fair Pallet Loops (which are mindgameable by both players) unfair, since the Killer can just run it and gets a hit once BL1 kicks in. But most Killer players dont really understand this and want Bloodlust in the game, even if such a design would favor fair gameplay where both sides could win at a Pallet, if they play better than the other side.
It would also remove some issues - Pallets would not need to be broken immediatly, because the Killer might outplay the Survivor on them. And it would also mean that an area is not a huge deadzone when a Baby-Meg throws down Pallets, because a) said Baby-Meg will go down faster and will not get the opportunity to waste every pallet on the map and b) there would be so many that Survivors who actually can play those pallets will still get to use them.
So it would be great if Pallets would not be either pallets without much gameplay which need to be broken immediatly when dropped or are just not a free hit for the Killer because they follow the Survivor around a Loop for 15 seconds.
The cars outside of the school on Badham are a good example for those kind of Loops.
2 -
I wonder why they are taking so long for swamp rework. Either way the road having more pallets is nice, though they did choose loops that have no real mindgame. The map being smaller is nice but I wonder how much smaller.
0 -
If you honestly think lockers aren't a big deal for survivors, then you should be fine if the extra lockers are killer-only, and survivors can't hide in them.
Alternately, you should be fine if the extra lockers are ONLY added for specific killers, and the rest of the killers get the current locker amounts.
0 -
What if we just let lockers be lockers and not be scared of the red death traps that let you one shot survivors?
1 -
Narrow the road and make the buildings more interesting other than "There are 2-3 windows per house minimum"
Why is the main focus on the houses windows? Even badham as terrible as it is has a house with a pallet in it. Surely the houses can be more than just windows.
Either way I'm glad the map is getting looked at but I don't see adding stuff to the road itself as fixing much but I'm happy to be wrong about that. Less of a deadzone sure but are the houses being looked at?
