pop and pain res I am so sick of this
Like i am being so serious now do y'all have no variety like 9 games back to back pop pain res like come on this perk combo is boring to play up against and its even worse when its carrying a killer like i am at 4 gens and i am working on a gen i watch it get it with pain res then pop my gen went from being 90 to nothing how do we find this "fair" this is so unfun

It's mandatory on the weaker killers. Definitely really frustrating to see it on something like a Blight.

i had a nurse with pop and pain res Btw we died at 5 gens like if i saw a trapper or a pig with it i wouldn't care that much but blight, nurse,oni i have played against every killer running those 2 perks

Most of the problems with this game boil down to the fact that there is no unified vision for how strong killers should be. Blight and Myers are allowed to exist in the same game. You can't balance the game so that Pig can win without making Nurse broken.

I don’t use any slowdowns at all and gens fly by. I’m talking my matches are 6-8 minutes in average. Some are sub 5. Cob, eruption, and OC got gutted otherwise you would see some variety. And people will trash me for losing even though I don’t bring any gen regression perks. So why not bring four slowdown perks?

How do you nerf them without killing them? PR used to do 150% in total now it does 100%. Pop used to be a straight 25% and now it’s 30% of the progress. So if you kick a Gen at half it only removes 20% and if it’s at a 1/4 then it only does 14% including the base kick damage. If you nerf them anymore then people will bring even more slowdown.

Half of the time I dont care too much about hardcore winning anymore, but I wont deny that it is very hard to play without hardcore gen defence. If you are playing to win anyway.

pop is a no-camp perk that promises survivors that a rescue will occur during that time. There is a limit to the number of times pain can be used, and it only affects the first gen, so if everyone is conscious of completing the gen and spreads out and takes turns aiming to complete the gen, the damage will be less.
Of course I get annoyed sometimes, but I don't complain because it's a killer's right. When I'm the killer, there are times when I get irritated with the survivors. However, in that case, it is the survivor's right.
Above all, these two perks will be revealed to survivors, so we promise there are only two left. Knowing the number and type of Killer's perks is a basic skill for any decent Survivor, but since they already know two things, if a Survivor screams every now and then and gets beaten up by a sloppy butcher, the Killer has nothing else left to do. Since there is no pwyf, you can establish a stable chase time without worrying about extra haste effects, and the match will not be ruined due to NOED.

I have a feeling if you do bring gen regression perk then someone starts saying "wow you need gen regression to act as a crutch" basically don't bring them they trash or bring them and they still trash you because you brought a perk you find helpful.

Yup. With the mangled nerf, and the 8 regression limit nerf, and the other regression perks such as call of brine nerfs, and all non-regression related kick perk nerfs with the 8 regression, and various other perks...the only decent perks LEFT to run are PR\Pop\Grim. BHVR is nerfing everything into the ground for killers except for a VERY select few perks that are still good. Killers are incredibly limited now on perk use - ESPECIALLY the weaker m1 killers. Now, ANY survivor can simply self heal (and very quickly!) on demand with strength with shadows. Now EVERY survivor can just delete pressure.
I almost play The Ghost Face exclusively - P100. Otherwise, it's pig, myers, slinger, and xeno. Just because the weaker killers are barely played doesn't mean we should ignore them - they are barely played BECAUSE they are so weak. They need some love, and all these killer nerfs and killing them.

When the killer uses the pop perk, the hook is defenseless. There are many timings for rescue. However, if the gen completion progress is slow, the killer doesn't have to pay attention to it, making camping and tunneling easier. It depends on the survivor.

The stats kinda disprove this don't they? Nurse and Blight might be among the top played, but so is Ghostface and Wraith. Generally speaking, people play the killers they like, regardless of balance. Unless it's a killer so bad they're literally infeasible at high MMR (almost actually just typed ranks in 2024 lmao), like Trapper or Myers no tombstone.

I’m not saying weak killers should be ignore but it’s just how it is people would rather a strong killer over a weak one so you get a bunch of blights nurse this and that running meta, tunneling doing whatever and sooner or later something will have to change because of that. If they were to leave the game as it is when it’s in a bad state since it would be manageable when against a weak killer the game would die off since there are more people playing the strong ones over the weak ones

It really is getting tedious I agree, I was just in a match trying to do a gen and matchmaking is so scuffed I am matched with what are obviously inexperienced survivors who go down repeatedly within seconds.
I always try to do the unsafe/mid gens first and having that gen regressed multiple times with Pain Res, then being pushed off with Grim and then Pop... I lose the motivation to persevere in a match in all honesty.

Well it's also allowing stacking of multiple gen control perks that is the bigger issue here. I can tolerate messy matchmaking but when a killer can get as many uses from Pop as they can get hooks, combined with 3 other gen perks, matches can feel hopeless from the start.
That should never happen just because someone stacks multiple gen perks

As for me, what's wrong with giving our all to each other? That's just what I think, so I think meritocracy is fine. If you want a handicap match, there should be a more suitable game, and you shouldn't ask DBD for that. After all, this is a game where a survivor is about to escape or be killed by a killer, right?

There is not meritocracy in stacking full gen control builds, you aren't winning based on merit, you are winning based on pure attrition as you wear down your opponent by having them use up resources (pallets) by constantly regressing their progress with perks - not skill - perks.
There is no merit in that.

But to that extent, killers cannot benefit from outside benefits. And since it's obvious to survivors, there's no need to be wary of anything else. And since both pop and pain depend on hooks, the chasing survivor will look at the HUD and think, ``Oh, if I buy a little more time, that gen will be completed, so let's use this palette liberally and down without using the next pallet. ” and so on, you can act in a planned manner. And the other survivors just need to complete the gen as quickly as possible so as not to waste the efforts of the chased survivor. This is that kind of game.

I don’t play it myself, considering it’s commonly used and I prefer not to run cookie cutter builds. But, players are allowed to use whatever build they want; if it’s available and strong, then why not use it? Because it makes someone upset? It’s not that simple. It’s going to get a nerf, of course, but until then instead of complaining and beating a dead horse, adapt your playstyle to the ever changing meta.
Like any other game that has strong mechanics/elements in it, change in playstyle and strategy is bound to happen, until the meta shifts; you get rid of one problem, and another is always there to replace it, usually worse. It’s frustrating to some players, but it’s part of the game for now. Play more efficiently and effectively and you’ll grow stronger.

Hooks are inevitable in game, a killer will down any survivors and even if they chase too long they will use resources (pallets) making the next chase far faster.
The problem is when you stack full gen builds the regression becomes overwhelming for your average lobby of solos to deal with. It is one thing to have regression and I get the need but what we see now is completely absurd overkill. There is no adaptation to that, you cant physically un-regress the time lost on gens - there is no 'outplay' to this.

If you can't counter it, I don't think you'll even be able to reach the 40% escape rate that official statistics say. In reality, many survivors are coping fairly well. And then they run away or die.
However, I think it would be pitiful if your area was overflowing with suicides and DC people. I can't play a proper game because of my friends who are holding me back.

I mean, that's what I'm saying. Everyone just wants to play blight and nurse because they are incredibly effective. They don't want to play the weaker ones because they are ineffective and require regression perks (which keep getting nerfed). If they buffed up the weaker killers, then we'd have a lot more variety of killers we'd be playing against.

I have over 4k hours in this game, I know how to play.
I cannot un-regress gens or counter stacked gen builds, there is no counter unless you know something I don't.

If so, you must have experienced it, but was the COB Eruption era better for you? I don't want to go back. There is much more leeway compared to those days, and even if it gets popped, the return value of gen is only 1/4 second. No problem at all.

People bring 3-4 slowdown in almost every game I play anyway. You can't bring more than that. Bring on the nerfs.

That is not relevant though, that was very bad and this is bad too. Bringing up previous bad thing in the game (the Eruption kick meta was truly miserable) does not justify current bad garbage existing in the game today.

And you’ll see only 4 after any nerfs lol. Get rid of any gen speed increasing perks / items and then nerf the perks and I would be fine with that

But we managed to get by, right? There was no way I could have kept losing forever.
What about now? I was able to get by even then, so it doesn't really matter now. It's not a harsh environment where even a single mistake is not tolerated. Especially with the removal of the hook grab, rescue work has become so easy that even children can do it. The probability of a hook trade failing is almost zero. In other words, you can be involved in gen completion for even one second longer. With that advantage, it's definitely not difficult to complete the gen in the current environment.
The only times when it is difficult to complete a gen in the current environment are if someone is slacking off when they should be completing a gen, or if they are simply bad at chasing or are going down too quickly against a Tier S killer.
