Obnoxious Slugging in Solo Queue

So while everyone cries about Decisive Strike being 2 seconds longer, who will address the absolute obnoxious intended playstyle of the perk 'Knock Out' paired with Doctor to make solo queue impossible? Just went against a Doctor on Midwich, who makes sure to slug everyone, and keep people in Madness 3, so that you can't even pickup your teammates when you finally find them.

I suggest that before you cry about meta perks in DBD like Decisive, Pain ressonance, Pop, DMS, Adrenaline or whatever, how about these absolute dumb flawed perks that can be abused to make a game literally impossible?

unfortunately with the buff to DS the amount of slugging will skyrocket if it becomes meta again. Just like back in the day when DS was in its prime.

You will probably see ALOT more slugging if the DS change goes live.. this is just the beginning..

To slug or not to slug? This will not be a question asked it will just be to slug.

....No, wouldn't it be better to return to sanity from Madness 3? That's no problem. Also, the Doctor doesn't show much strength in elementary school. If the survivor looks into the hallway and sees the doctor running towards him, all he has to do is run straight down the hallway. That alone can waste a lot of the killer's time.

I've been saying for months, slugging could be a way worse issue, if it was more common. I did this quite a few times as Doctor on The Game and so far I haven't lost. It's not just solo queue though.

The efficiency of slugging is often underestimated. You save so much time picking up, carrying and hooking survivors and with the right killer and build this becomes insanely strong.

    This highlights 2 issues:

    1. Hooking takes an insane amount of time and kills the killers momentum.
    2. Slugging is too strong thanks to Knockout.

The reason why slugging is so popular in the first place is due to two aspects.
First, as a tactic, it is better to take down a survivor, chase out or injure another survivor who attempts to complete the gen, and then hook the downed survivor again, which increases the killer's suppressing power.
2nd, As you mentioned, development made the act of hooking too weak in the first place, so people are hesitant to hook easily. Knock out are not always used to prevent hooks, but are sometimes used to take advantage of temporary suppressing power.

In any case, when facing a killer with a knockout configuration, the theory is that if there is a downed survivor, the first thing you should do is go to help them. It's a threat against nurses and brights, but honestly I don't feel threatened against doctors. Roles can be divided between the person being chased, the person completing the gen, and the person going to help and wake up. Is it possible to achieve such perfect coordination with soloQ? Not really, even if it's not perfect, survivors can do a lot with just the support of the HUD.

Slugging is not that popular though. There are situations where a killer will probably slug (like 2 survivors right next to each other and slugging for the 4k) but the worst kind of slugging is thankfully not that common yet.

Back when Knockout was buffed, many of us warned the devs that it wasn't a good idea. But luckily hooking remained the go-to strategy for the most part (multiple reasons for that). However, we already see what happens when Singularity stops hooking survivors. Doctor can become a monster as well. As can Wraith and Spirit. Sadako too. But the best slowdown perks require hooks at the moment and slowdown has always been meta, so many will not even think about changing their play style, which in this particular case is good.

They should rework Knockout regardless. Nerfing it would only make it useless and we really have enough bad perks already.

Unfortunately many of the killers best tools are not great from a game design standpoint. Hook camping used to completely remove agency from a survivor on first hook. The gen regression meta extended matches from ten minutes up to twenty or thirty minutes. Tunneling limits a survivor's ability to participate in the match by killing them off quickly. That's great for some super sweaty weirdos, but bad for everyone else. It's not about losing, it's about having a lousy time whilst your losing.

I'm still waiting for the stealth meta. It's always been an undervalued part of a killer's kit.

fine with me lol, I would rather survivors waste perk slots then using a bunch of Gen rushing perks
