Is Blight actually fun to play against?

I keep seeing this sentiment being posted so I figured I'd ask.

Personally I don't get the hype. Going against a sweaty Blight once in awhile can be enjoyable sure and I would agree that he takes skill to play and outplay.

But at this point being good at Blight isn't as exclusive as it used to be, so every Blight at a certain MMR pretty much plays the same and at that point how oppressive he is against non-meta loadouts becomes really apparent

I doubt the removal of hug tech will actually change the killer's relative strength but I can't say I'm not excited at the prospect of seeing him less. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What do you think about this killer?

i think he is very fun to play vs, unfortunately i havent seen one in a while. All i get are knights, skull merchants, plagues, legions and unknowns😖

I find him much more engaging than most other killers. You have to loop and path differently against him, and a good blight will make the match feel dangerous and stressful. Also, holding W isn’t an option, which is a good thing.

Removing the hug tech is not going to change anything. If you’re getting tagged by a hug tech, you are most definitely going to get tagged by bump logic, especially if collision issues are fixed.

I like going against him most of the time. What I don't like is people stacking slowdowns but that really isn't exclusive to Blight.

Not sure how Hug Tech getting patched will affect how fun he is to go against. It's always pretty fun to just step away from the loop and break Talbot's ankles every time he goes for one. We'll have to see.

See, I don’t go against as many Blights as I wish I did. The one’s I do go against are either very new or running 4 slowdowns with his strongest addons M1ing & trying to tunnel. I personally love getting Blights, but Blights that actually use their power.

I always try to play Blight for fun (chase build with aura reading) but I’ve been having to play more sweaty to keep up.

He isn’t as bad as people make him out to be versing. Yeah, facing a good Blight sucks, but it’s appreciated and respected when they’re good with their power.

that killer is so common in my games and i don’t understand why😭 yes i know he is new but only the fun killers are usually played alot like wesker or chucky was when they released. I see unknown alot and i hate it. Give me a blight or oni any day over it

    • I don't know your MMR... but when I meet a Blight I start praying "my God, let this Blight not be good with his power". Of course, when I encounter a mediocre/normal Blight, it's fun🤣 (I make the same prayer for Nurse)After 3,500 hours of DBD, I stopped thinking "wow, this blight is really good".

Tbf you have stated that you enjoy facing m1 killers so its clear blight is something not to your taste, so thats just you being consistent.

I however am the opposite, I groan at the sight of a myers, ghostface, freddy, pig or any m1 killer, as for me they are the most boring thing in the game, they are easy to loop and their powers so basic you could neutralize acid with it.

But thats just prone to happen when dbd its such a big game and has so many characters and players, people are bound to like certain characters and hate other while other people might feel the opposite. Its just a normal thing.

Agreed. I would actually rather go against a Skull Merchant than a Blight.

I stand by it. Blight is so horrendously unfun to play against.

Blight is fun to go against… until he stacks the sweatiest add-ons and slowdown perks. So it's not common to enjoy playing against Blight because most of the time they stack an S-tier killer with the strongest things ever.

Most Blights I get have three to four slowdowns and are 50/50 on hard tunneling. I definitely do not have any fun in these matches. I still have the last blight I played against in my Steam browser tabs. 6000 hour player who played exactly how you'd expect.

To be fair, I don’t do this often… but 90% of the teams I go against bring the strongest builds + bt in a bottle, needles, BNP etc… so what’s the difference?

Honestly he's up there with Nurse where if I'm against one that's any good the game feels like it's over before it's even begun. They tend to bring the strongest add-ons (and blight has really strong ones) they know how to tech every single loop, it just feels hopeless. I'm not the greatest survivor but most other killers I feel like I can at least have a chance against.

I play exclusively solo queue, hardly ever bring items and when I do it's not with those add-ons, and tend to go for builds that are more gimmicky or fun. I don't like playing sweaty on either side but Blight is a killer that if I'm not playing at 110% I don't even have a hint of a chance against him and I'm not about that.

I dislike going against Blights that stack 4 slowdowns and double iridescents as much as I dislike going against hyper sweat squads with BNPs, Background Player, Flashbangs, Bottled Time, and syringes. There isn't a difference between them.

Yea he's pretty fun to play against personally. It doesn't matter if its a baby Blight or a skilled Blight. He's very oppressive but a lot of people exaggerate it. A lot of times, the Blight has counter play, there are loops that just waste his time if he uses his powerr & his kit in general being a wrecking pinball is one you have to keep in mind when running with him right behind you.

But it also really depends on your team. Probably more than anything. A bad team is like free food for the killer.

He's more fun than other killers. I'd rather play against a Blight than a Nurse, Skull Merchant, Leatherface, or Huntress. But it's still not very fun.

A casual blight and a pop/pain res/DMS/tinkerer blight are two very different creatures

He can be fun but sometimes he just feels very unfair (which he is, comparatively to most of the roster).

that wouldn’t even be an optimal build for blight. Lol

    I agree completely.

Ah yes, of course. People will always have vastly different tastes in DBD, especially when it comes to killers and their powers.

As long as they aren’t stacking 4 slow downs or double iri, I love playing against Blight.
