Am I the only one who thinks Surge/Jolt is an OP perk?
I'm a killer main. Two days ago I tried Surge on my loadout and it was the best decision I've made in my 1600 hour long journey. The time it saves when you have to go up and down to kick a generator is so good. Instead of wasting precious time to damage a generator, I can use that time to find more survivors. I found on these forums that most people doesn't really like surge, but my win rate has significantly gone upwards after I added it to my build. What do you guys think about it?

Very strong perk that always has been and will be but overshadowed by pop and pain res.
It's extremely good when killers 3 gen and on killers that have to M1 to down. If they do both like singularity for example it's even better.

It's a pretty good perk but definitely overpowered. You mostly don't hit all 3 gens anyway and the regression is neat but less impactful than for example Pain Res, which gives you a chance to defend a gen that's almost finished because the regression on each individual gen is not that great.

I find it's heavily map dependent, on a map like The Game it's about the same power level as Pain Res/Pop but on larger maps like Garden or Asylum it's a bit mediocre.

I run it for the dopamine hits of when I down people but realistic it's one of the worst slow down options compared to everything else available. Like it's worse than PR, Pop, Deadmans, GE, Deadlock ect.
Tbh I'd like if they just removed the basic attack requirement to give it a little more flexibility since it is worse than the others.

Agreed! I would love to be able to cross map down a survivor with my hatchet and use the 10 seconds it bought me to get my slow 110 killer ass over there lol.

I would say it's powerful, so long as you recognize you no longer have to dry kick generators when you use it (if you're also frequently kicking gens with it, the perk is a little redundant). I wouldn't really say it's OP since it's not super frequent that it activates on multiple gens at once and even when it does it feels justified

It's strong but it's not OP in my opinion. I run it religiously to avoid doing kick regression or pain res and you can stack up blocked gens quickly. Plus survivors usually understand it's surge quickly and take chases away from uncompleted gens.

It's really not that good. Its 32m radius, and the fact that it only triggers on basic attacks is what holds it back. Only good if survivors play badly and give you multiple downs in the same area. Not to mention Surge was pretty negatively affected by the generator changes.

It's one of my favorite perks, but it really isn't that good. It got even worse after the regression cap. I hope the devs make it work with special attacks one day, so more killers will be able to use effectively.

Probably the only one to think it's OP

Yes.

It's perfectly fine.
The only thing I could live without is the screaming. I understand that the Perk was bugged for a long time, but I feel like it's overkill and wouldn't be missed.

Yes.

only useful on m1 killers and doesnt work well with new 8gen regression change. anf pop + pain res is much more reliable and strong on every killer.

It depends, if you get a stacked map like Meat Plant or Midwich then Jolt can be extremely painful and match winning by itself for the killer. On larger maps it is less of an issue but it is still a problem that it has no limit to how many times you can get value, especially if you just slug rather than hook every time

It only works with basic attacks? Well I'm a Legion main and the only way I can down a survivor is to use M1, so I wasn't aware of it. Still it is a good perk tho.

not work against SWF because they know which gen is repairing.

it’s good but not overpowered.

it is a good pairing with ruin since the 8% applies even on a gen regressing by ruin. Also when ruin gets cleansed this is there as a back up slowdown. The thing is it only works on m1s so alot of killers cant use it

I think you havent played enough games with it because its definitely not OP like you say it is lol especially with the new anti 3 gen changes, you’re just going to get yourself blocked from kicking gens faster with surge and the gen regression isnt all that great.

I don't think it's overpowered, it's unreliable. Survivors can pretty much decide where to go down as long as they have enough warning, and they can also go in lockers. It can be very effective sometimes but yeah i often prefer to use POP since you can choose which generator to target.

Surge/Jolt is a good perk, but I would not go as far as saying it’s OP. I think Surge/Jolt is fair and balanced since it has a lot of restrictions for it’s effect, and it punishes Survivors a fair bit for making mistakes but isn’t “over the top” enough to be an issue.

Honestly, I think it's kinda weak and unreliable. Yeah, it's one of the most used perks because it's a regression perk, which is the best kinda perk, but it's still much weaker than most other regression perks.
The value is small, smaller than a missed skillcheck and just slightly bigger than a normal gen-kick, you don't have control over it (which means not only might not affect the gens you wish to affect, but also that you might spend some of the limited 8 regressions without realizing, when you should save those regressions for better perks like Pop and Pain Res), it only applies on basic attack downs, and the worst part of all: it's easy to counter. All the survivors need to do to avoid it is to run away from the gen they want completed when a chase starts.
In other words, it is better than many because it is still a regression perk, but it's worse than other regression perks and it was made WEAKER by the 3-gen solution.

It is not OP, it is good, specially in small maps or maps with several floors, but it is inconsistent and random, you have to down a survivor near an advanced generator which don't always happen.
It also was indirectly nerfed when the anti-3gen mechanic was released.

i mostly play killer and i do not get the hype about jolt. Some Killers will on god say jolt is some lowkey godtier perk when in reality its heavily map dependent and only 8% regression 8 seconds well you can at least hook someone THEN watch the gens pop

There is a counterplay to it and it works only on M1 killers, so I would say it's perfectly fine.

It’s not OP; it’s just right. I use it on Myers with 3 other Gen slow down perks. My win rate went up when I started using it as well. Surge was a slept on perk for months. I noticed a lot of killer perks are, at release.
Surge is very annoying to go against when playing survivor. Especially with killers who have Pop and get downs fairly quickly. It’s like raking up a pile of leaves just to have some little kid come through and randomly dive through the pile often.

When playing Survivor it seems to constantly be blowing-up every Gen I’m working on, all match long, especially on Gideon;
So as aggravating as that is, it totally feels OP, although I don’t think Surge is overpowered, just really strong.
