Being made to look like I'm hacking

Was just in a match where the hacker made it look like I was hacking. Made it look like I could struggle off within 2 seconds. I also figured if they were helping me to struggle I'd stop struggling. They were filling my struggle meter. I ended up disconnecting because I didn't want the killer to think I was the one hacking.

Is EAC still safe?

I think this has also happened to me, being suddenly rescued from a killer's grip for no reason whatsoever, and I play on console. I thought it was just a glitch the first time, but when I noticed it happen again, I started thinking there's some kind of stealth hack my teammates were running.

It doesn't feel good to benefit from cheating I had nothing to do with.

I'm like super worried the killer is going to think I'm the one cheating and had reported me.

Unfortunately they’ve been able to do this for a long time. I’ve seen it happen a few times where they try to make someone else appear to be the hacker.

Disconnecting was probably your best choice, and the hacker most likely continued to hack so the killer could tell it wasn’t you.

In my experience, it’s usually pretty obvious which one is hacking. They usually start to make it much more obvious once the guy they are framing starts to give up and they can’t make them look as suspicious anymore. Usually they also make it obvious from the start they are hacking and just super speed or fly around and then start to do this when you don’t bother chasing them anymore. I doubt you’ll get banned or anything since there isn’t enough proof to show you were the hacker and the actual hacker was probably more obvious from th killers perspective.

Choy, a DbD content creator made a video on this a few months ago. IIRC, BHVR can look into the metadata of your game and figure out it wasn't you cheating if you're framed and falsely reported for cheating. You can find the video on Youtube.

Exactly. If people are not actually hacking/cheating, they dont have to worry. Players get reported all the time for Hacking or Cheating just because the other side does not understand something. So even if someone gets reported because a Hacker is messing with them, nothing to worry about when it comes to Bans.

Just getting reported for Cheating/Hacking will not result in a ban. And this is good.

Yeah, funny story, though I don't think I was reported as the other survivors in the lobby backed me up, once when I was playing as The Legion this Steve was convinced I had to be hacking as I ran from one side of the map to the other and pulled him out of a locker. Of course, he didn't know about The Legion's power and the Killer Instinct showing me that he was in the locker! Haha. As I said though, when he accused me and the other survivors were all backing me up, he apologized. :)
