I do not enjoy dbd these days for me.

Hello. I live in Japan.
I have 1700 hours of playing time on steam dbd. i have been doing it since 2019.

Since the matchmaking became rate based, the Asian servers have become more and more competitive. I am semi forced to use strong perks to compete with people on Asian servers. If I don't, I can't earn bp or finish archives.
There are also hackers who abuse the anonymous mode. This may be the same in every region.

This may be one of the reasons why dbd's popularity in Japan has been declining.
I think dbd's gameplay is great.

I would like to hear what everyone overseas thinks about these issues. I came here to say this directly because I don't feel any response from the Japanese management when I ask them about it.
I am using this deepl. Sorry if it was hard to understand.

In EU west it's maybe 75% tryhards and 25% chill killers.

But there are days I have 0 fun because all my games I could play, like 10 to 15, have sweatlords every round.

But I also feel the game is way more competitive since they introduced MMR. That was the death to really casual plays.

Thanks for the replies. I guess it's not uncommon for people in every region to find it hard to be both a survivor and a killer.

It's not because of the matchmaking. It's because the overall playerbase has steadily improved over the years and more and more competitive-spirited players got into the game. Arguably, you gain MMR too fast as killer.

These are problems every region complains about, it is not just Japan.

Maybe the casual playerbase has shrunk, leaving more of the experienced players who put in a lot of effort to play, which easily outplay the remaining casual players, which causes them to leave, which makes the problem worse.

im pretty sure its the same everywhere. when i play at peak hours, ill get swfs who are all running background player flashbang or mft buckle up. gens get slammed and the games are ultra stressful. i run only pop and deadlock for generator defence as wraith but honestly i feel like 3 gen perks is necessary at this point.

    im NA east server.
