Your opinion on maybe BOTs being in normal lobbies?
Like imagine you go for soloQ and you see lobby with 1-2 bots... Yea that's a BIG no for me.
Or imagine Killer que up and see his lobby being 50% free ezi bots...

Nah, I'd rather take 2 solo q dummies than 2 bots.
As both killer and survivor.

Yah hard nope. If I wanna play bots, I'll play custom. I play the public game to learn and develop. Bots teach me how to mind game a bot, and that's a different skill.
5 -
Uhh actually as a solo q player I wish I had the option to que up with bots. No offense but other players constantly throw for their challenges.
7 -
Bots should have never been a thing in public games in the first place. Not even as a replacement for a DCed Survivor, since Bots are not better than no Survivor, they are in fact even worse. A 3v1 is better than a 4v1 with one Bot.
So Bots should obviously not be a thing in public games on a regular Basis without DCs.
I play a multiplayer game to play with and against other players. If I want to play against or with an AI, I would play other games.

I'd insta leave on both sides.
1 -
I'd rather not. I hate playing against bots because it's so boring and predictable and I don't like playing with bots either because they're not the smartest. I once saw bot run into the basement to get an unhook, then run up again and into the killer without actually getting the unhook first.
2 -
Lol im staying, If im survivor, its free meat shield and if im killer its free kills.
1 -
Thats very interesting i think the bots are crap too but are you really better of wirh a 3v1 then with a bot?
I mean the bot could atleast brain dead work on a gen and pre run the second the terror radius come close.
3 -
keep bots to customs. you play online to play with people.
2 -
Yeah, I would instantly leave that lobby. No point in playing with bots.
2 -
As a survivor I would much rather play with bots sometimes lol. It's been 7 years of playing this game and people play like they don't have a head on their shoulders.

No. I do not want to play with bots

I would rather sit in queue than play with bots. I dislike how if I’m playing killer and everyone leaves that I’m forced to play the match out. If survivors leave I should be allowed to leave as well unpenalized. Playing against bots isn’t fun.

I don't like bots replacing disconnects as it is. I just have the killer let me go next. I certainly wouldn't like bots in my matches from the start.

From my experience, the Bots are utterly useless. They sometimes wont do Gens. Yesterday my game crashed and according to my SWF-Mate my Bot did nothing for around 2 minutes.
But what a Bot can provide is pressure for the Killer, mainly when it comes to PGTW and (if not used already on the actual player) Pain Res. And I feel that the Killer just benefits way more than the Survivors from a Bot. I think a 4v1 with a Bot is worse than a 3v1.
1 -
At least bots don't refuse to touch gens for the first 5 minutes of a match like a lot of my solo q teammates do
1 -
I don't mind them for DCs. I think it's funny to rescue them in the end game

I think they're great in the case of DC's, but I'd never want to see one in lobby. I play DBD because it's a game with the type of dynamic that's rarely seen and is rarely as much fun or has as much depth as in other games, and A.I. just removes that layer from the game. I don't have fun crushing bots, I can do that anytime.
1 -
I will happily farm BP against bots as long as it's toggleable
1 -
Oh beloved, bots are far from useless. They serve a purpose—one quite nefarious.
Among other things, bots ruin the gaming experiences of killer mains as well. See, killers like the feeling of dominating human players but don’t experience that dopamine hit when they face bots. That’s why whenever the topic of killers just facing bots comes up, there’s pushback.
So with all these enhancements to killers that are pushing survivors away from the role, what we’ll begin to see is killers complain about the lack of people playing survivor (which they already do by way of complaining about survivors DCing). BHVR, in turn, will look at this and come up with creative solutions to attract survivors back to that role. We’re going to have a reckoning of sorts.. a 6.1.0 but for survivors. The perfect storm is brewing. You’ve just gotta wait for the rain.

I agree with this. The DC sound still makes me depressed, regardless of getting a bot. It's actually worse now, as when survivors used to DC they'd leave behind an item. Now you get nothing.
If matchmaking bots had scaling intelligence, and I got a lobby with two bots, I would consider it. It's gotta be better than two potatoes.

Sorry, couldn't help it :3

I mean, yeah, this is true. But I guess people also just dont want to play against less Survivors. A bot is still better for the Killer than a DCed Survivor, mainly because they get Points and Perk Value. And the sweatiest of Killers dont really care if a Survivor DCed or not, they play for the win and a DC is a dead Survivor for them.
Its not like that the person who plays Nurse with 3 or 4 Slowdowns, Mangled Add On and a Map Offering (to Midwich or Dead Dawg) really cares if the other side has fun anyway.
But I would agree that there might be changes. Currently everything gets designed with the thought in mind "Are Killers ok with that?". Even the DS-Buff is so non-existent that there were not really complaints about it once the PTB launched because Killers saw that the DS-Buff barely does anything. But currently it looks like there might need to be actual positive things for Survivors in the future, I noticed that my queue times as Survivor in the evening are faster. They are still slower than Killer (which is the norm in EU, fast for Survivor during the day, fast for Killer during the evening), but I rarely wait more than 30 seconds nowadays compared to around 2 minutes a few months ago. There is also Bonus for Survivor in the evening sometimes. Not saying that Survivors are leaving the game in masses, but there are less people playing Survivor, which is to be expected when BHVR decided to give up on that role.
I have to say, even if Bots would be VERY good, I would not really want to play with them. Because I want to play with other players in a Multiplayer-game. If I want to play PvE there are better games out there.

Absolutely not. I don't even want them to fill in for teammates who disconnect. I want a quick way out a game when bots are involved. Quickest way to kill the game for me would be to add them to normal lobbies
1 -
I would insta quit. When I want to play against or with bots I play customs. I already do not like Bots, when people dc.
0 -
That is fair.
Though I do have to admit there are some killers I have to laugh at the thought of them getting stuck with bots as they kinda deserve it.
Like today my first game was a Spirit that camped the first survivor then tunnelled them at 5 gens, so I just let them hook me and went next while everyone else DC'd so they were left in the game with 3 bots lol.

Yes, it is funny to see some Killers play PvE. Especially if it is an Anon Skull Merchant.
BUT - I always thought that the better solution to someone DCing would be that everyone else can also DC without penalty up to 30 seconds after the first DC or something like that (the first person gets the penalty as usual of course). Because it is pointless for the Survivors to play a 3v1, they lost, there is no way of winning the game unless the Killer is way worse than them (which is also not really fun). And the Killer also might not want to have a super-easy win right at the start and wants to do an actual game (even tho, I think most just take the free win, but others will probably just want to play a normal game).
Then maybe also increase the BP-Bonus for those who decided to stick around so IF both sides want to stay in the game they get more than the 650 points or whatever it was for someone DCing.
This would also be fair towards SWFs and Solos. Solos would be able to get out of games they lost due to an early DC, but it cannot be abused by SWF because they would also have to wait until their SWF-Mate (who was the first person DCing) has waited out their penalty.

I would love a penalty-free quit option once a bot joins. Or a vote abandon. Bots and disconnects both usually equate to a guaranteed loss, but bots also make that same result take longer. I'd rather not play it out.

Oh, it's so much more worse than that.
The playerbase has been constantly decreasing since SBMM was introduced and it seems that we have hit a critical point. Around 15th of March, the previous matchmaking range was loosened, now allowing all those max MMR monster Blights and Nurses to have EVEN easier games than before (already sealclubbing much less experienced players than themselves) which will no doubt result in even less people wanting to play survivor.
We had a 20% escape rate for SoloQ according to the official statistics (corrected by actually counting DCs as opposed to doctoring the math to line up with what BHVR wants to be the result) which is now being pushed down even harder. What is it now? 15-10-5% escape rate? It might not seem like a lot, but escaping once every 5-6 games versus escaping once every 20 games is hugely demoralizing and off-putting. People will be less inclined to play, that will result in even looser matchmaking until there is no matchmaking at all (which, some might argue is already the case).
I personally have 3k hours in the game and while obviously play time=/=skill, I really shouldn't be getting lobbies with survivors that have 30-60 hours in the game. I'm 4king with no perks because they run edgemap, don't do generators and have no clue how the killer's power works (you adorable babymeg camping pallet against Nurse).
It makes me sod mad that BHVR seemingly cannot settle on the balance of the game. DBD went from survivors bullying killers to killers bullying anything that's not a comp 4 men bringing the best perks, items and map offerings (and looking at some no restriction exhibition matches, even there one bad play/unlucky rng spawn can result in a 4k).
Bots won't solve the playerbase issue. Making the game fun will. And currently, there's nothing fun about playing survivor if you aren't doing it with friends.
Actually, I'm wondering if DBD will move to become PVE focused if it can't stop this trend? The bots currently are pretty bad and while I personally wouldn't mind playing with/against bots if they were decent enough, the people that are in charge of writing their behavior are the same folks that thought escape/kill=big number, which gets ignored anyways, because que times must be sub 5 seconds.
If there's one thing I have to admire BHVR for, it's their determination to torpedo their own flagship no matter how hard the players want to enjoy it.

I mean I’m sure there’s scenarios like that. I play a good bit of SM and I don’t think it’s fair to punish someone because of the killer they chose to play, that’s not fair to them. I don’t even tunnel or camp at all and I only run 1 slow down. So I play pretty dang nice.

They did the same with Deathgarden. They literally did the same thing there: they overbuffed the Hunter role based on ‘player feedback’ so much that people stopped playing survivor, and then they didn’t have enough people queueing in as survivor to support reasonable queue times. They eventually just shut down the game servers.
