The Greatest Woe of Solo Queue

Have you ever played a round of SoloQ that is genuinely disheartening?

To set the stage, we were on Dead Dawg Saloon, and the killer was a Knight.

Now, this should immediately prompt any cunning survivor to discern which generators might pose a problem of potential 3 gen situations, or even just two generators that would be easy to defend at the same time. My teammates not only does the generator in main first or second (never a good sign), but they also somehow systematically did every single gen that could have been at all spaced from even ONE other generator in the late game in a row. The last three gens were within a short jog of one another in a single weak corner of the map. They did the first gen they saw after finishing another.

I'm astounded that any of us got out, let alone three of us—That Knight didn't really use his power at all.

Do any survivors ever try to play actively, or is the majority of the playerbase just doing the first thing they see? We're better than this, right? For all the complaints about 3gens and slowdown, surely—surely at least SOME survivors would develop any intention of preventing such 3gen situations before they happen?

That's why my best escape rate in solo is with a Deja Vu, Built to Last, Prove Thyself build (with OTR due to the ubiquitous tunneling and a Commodious with charge add-ons for BTL).

I'm mediocre at chase but I understand the meta strategy very well and stopping the three gen yourself works very well in preventing aggravation.

I usually bring a commodious toolbox with two charge addons to do the job myself, yeah. I really wish I could ever succeed in beckoning survivors off gens that aren't good to do early but what can you do, right?

Unfortunately pretty much. I've tried Better Together and it got ignored so much I just switched it out for Built to Last and got more success.

The other one that I find annoying is, on one of other builds, I bring Exponential and sometimes players will just lie on the ground in my boon radius and not even try to recover while the Killer chases someone else. It's like stand up already; if I just wanted to benefit myself in case of a slugging Killer I'd bring Unbreakable.

I'm pretty sure majority of survivors choose to just do objective they see esp in solo q

Trying to prevent 3gen often results in 3gen anyway because you don't know what gen others are doing, so I stopped trying

Dead Dog is a known killer sided map because it tends to spawn 3 gens naturally, has weak loops, and dead zones. Some of what happened in the scenario you explained was unavoidable. But it’s good you got out.

You can break those 3 gens if you put any effort into it. I mean, the gen in main is free—and should really be left til' last. Even if not, at least leaving ONE generator undone across the map makes it harder to defend every gen.

I just focus on the gens that I want to get done. There's no point worrying about what gens my team mates are doing because obviously I can't read their minds lol on Dead Dawg I tend to hit the gallows one first. I've noticed spawns happening in the middle of the street too lately, so I'll hit that one provided I can rope at least one other survivor into helping me. It's suicide to do it alone. If the killer comes and chases one of us, then the other can still hit the gen.

I think people hit the main gen there first because that’s pretty much the only place to really loop on the map. Knocking it out quickly frees up the only place where survivors get to loop successfully (if the killer commits) and would also theoretically have the killer split time between both sides of the map—even though the map is small.

I've been in that situation a few times on DDS, luckily the last few times I was in a four-man with my friends, two of whom were new. So we were able to escape with a 3K.

But SoloQ is a different story, sometimes you can get giga-brained survivors but most of the time your teammates are lemmings.

I've been playing this game for ages now and to this day I am shocked at how survivors play. You don't have to be the best looper or whatever but have you damn priorities straight.
Like, it doesn't matter how many times you heal or screw around and hide, if the gens are not being done you are not getting out. Also people really underestimate how quick a match can do down hill. Just because you finished 4 gens that does not guarantee your escape. I notice people start messing around because they think they got it in the bag and boom someway somehow the killer kills us all lol.
These days I only play with my bf cause this unfortunate game is the only thing he knows to play, and most of the time I can predict the scenario or how the game is gonna end based on what my teammates are doing.
I really wish survivors had some more independence, you're too reliant on your teammates and lets be real most of the time they play worse than a bot. At least in F13 if the other counselors are stupid you can still get yourself out of there and leave their ass behind lol.

Any round where I see a teammate afk in the basement for 2 mins attempting to activate the worst perk in the game
