Blinded but still carrying?
Hello,
Earlier I was in a match I was playing Wesker and we were in Lerys fine medical theatre I was carrying a survivor I think it was a sable and leon blinded me with a flashlight.
I was clearly blind as I just stood still to listen for footsteps and just turn in the general direction until the blind ended. When the blind ended I seen leon standing directly infront of me so I swung but I realized it was not the normal swing then I felt the wiggle of sable. I was very blind I definately should have dropped her but I didnt. is this like a known thing??

Did wesker "scream" /do his incapacitated noises?
If not, then the blind didn't go fully through. Iirc the visual effect starts long before the blind is definite, meaning the player can be inconvenienced long before the character gets stunned.

The time frame to land a flashlight save is really big these days, you barely need timing, but you can still blind to early. If the guy with the flashlight somehow managed to miss the window and blinded you too early it will not result in dropping the survivor despite being blinded.

It is somehow still possible to miss flashlight safes. It takes more skill to miss them than to hit them though...

They probably blinded you to early into the pick up animation.

i must be god tier at missing saves then since ive never gotten one off successfully

It has been a known thing for as long as i've been playing even. BHVR just can't seem to make fluid animations for picking up that can be interrupted like that. It could be limitations on the tech they use, maybe they don't want to, but It's always felt unnatural to the flow of the game for me. I get the biggest kick out of the blinded points they give you when you're early… Thats the icing on the cake in that scenario. Same thing with throwing a pallet too early. Just take your points and carry on is the best advice I can give.

all you gotta do is try it with controller and point at their face just before they pick up and boom they are blind but still carrying
try it with residual manifest on an indoor map

thats why ya see controller is limited while the mouse isnt
thats why id use a controller joystick to move and a mouse to look around and interact
