I suck at looping him. He feels so fast! 🤣

Excuse my dramatic video of me trying to run from him but I can never get way from that fat $&/!! 🤣

I noticed that whenever I play Clown many survivors leave the tile once I begin to setup bottles on it, forcing me to reload if I use too many in that singular tile, so you could try that. That said, my playstyle for Clown is really, really weird, so it may not apply to other Clowns. In low wall tiles just predrop right before he can reach you and hope he whiffs if he tries to outplay the predropped pallet with both bottles.

I respect you for trying to learn and ask for tips instead of jumping on the "This killer is OP" train I usually see.

Clown is tricky, he is sorta like Doctor in that you can't like "loop" him per say, in a lot of situations he will eventually catch you out with slowdown and get the hit so you sort of have to learn spacing/distance alongside tile knowledge.

Check your spacing and figure if you can waste time circling a tile or if you need to drop the pallet immediately to prevent the hit/force a break. Also paying attention to when he needs to reload/is reloading/how many bottles he has can help immensely in extending chase because you can move tiles while he is slowed, don't try to move too far though. Without decent line of sight breakers, one good bottle throw and he can catch up super quick.

Speaking of bottles, a lot of Clowns are going to try to rotate you around tiles and push you into their slowdown pink gas while setting up their yellow gas to speed themselves up, if you can path well, you can sometimes use this against them. Entering the yellow gas as survivor will give you the same speed boost that Clown gets, and if you are hindered by pink and enter yellow it clears your hinder from the pink which is nice to know.

Once Clown is on top of you it is very difficult to avoid hits without using resources, especially on filler pallets and the like. If you don't pre-throw a lot of those when he is close you are more than likely going to take a hit if the Clown is any good. If you are healthy though a lot of the time you can use your first hit to get to something more useful, so going to fillers, acting like you are going to play them but then taking the hit and moving to a jungle gym or LT can also e a nice chase extender.

Watching and playing Clown is also a huge help for learning weaknesses on his kit, as for any killer. Hopefully this helps!

Your best bet is to pre-throw the pallet and then try to win the vault game. Don't panic vault. Just stay calm and let the killer mindgame themself for a few seconds, then time the vault when they commit. Takes practice. Clown is kind of like Spirit in the sense that you're cooked if they get control of the pallet.

thank you! Trying to remain calm in the heat of it is my biggest struggle. I overreact sometimes 😅

When you're trying to escape The Clown…best not to resort to any funny business!

    But yeah, pre-drops are king!

    Step 1. Hold w

Step 2. if he gets too close drop pallet

Step 3. play dropped pallet for vaults since hindered does nothing against them

First step don't spawn in on map with a low amount of resources like sanctum or rancid abattoir.😶

2 Into you actually step in the yellow gas yourself just assume they running the wall hack addon. So just be aware of that if u trying mind game at high walls structure.

3 Understand this killer can't be loop. Pre dropping a pallet isn't looping but it the only thing u can do.

I really wish in the future that behavior would actually consider given killers like clown and trickster better counterplay. They not op but it pretty lame going against someone who just nearly unstoppable in chase. All these people complain about nurse but at least she have actual solid counterplay. As u can probably tell i hate going against the clown.

Honestly "easiest" counter would be hitting him with a pallet, shift+w doesn't even work that much most of times and looping is obviously not an option

Alternatively you could try camping dropped pallet in bigger tiles, but of course it only works in bigger tiles

For the video, going left instead of right would have given you a chance to round back to the pallet, but you would need to see that he was going the opposite way that he was.

For in general, the Clown can get a hit against something like 70-90% of dropped pallets. Basically only god pallets and standing pallets protect you. That also means modern map design (only unsafe pallets like farm teepee + 2 wooden crates) give Clowns free wins for days. Clown is beaten by good macro-game, splitting apart, not dropping un-safe pallets to juice 1 more loop, and taking advantage of pallet fast vaults. The gas converts window vaults from .5s fast vaults into .9s medium vaults, but pallets remain at the .5s fast speed. If you force the clown to kick the pallet, then you at least can make it to another pallet.

Edit: Also play Clown yourself. Clown players learn which vaults can and can't be made when affected by yellow and purple gas, so you can know to leave early if a Clown only gets a yellow+purple hit and they are still prepping the yellow. Playing Clown is like relearning all common tile timings, just like you have to re-learn 110 Killers to M1 at simple loops compared to 115.

I realize that too when I rewatch the video, I should’ve went left instead of right through the window, but I was trying to slightly avoid that gas, and I think my brain decided to take the window instead 🤣

If he sets up a yellow-purple combo you just gotta run to the next tile. He's gonna get you if you stay.

The area you were at in the video was a crappy angle to vault from. 90 degrees is always gonna be a medium vault.
