Good Killer for New Player
My partner recently got her first pc and so she’s brand new to kbm and also DBD. She’s been mostly playing survivor because she’s too worried she’ll do terrible at killer.
Do you guys have any easy killer suggestions? They can be licensed. I was thinking Wraith personally but I can’t think of anyone else (not really considering trapper since I feel his ability actually requires good map knowledge and placements.) Cheers!

I find Trapper and Wraith are good starting points as they are kind of intuitive. Trapper is pretty weak, Wraith is better.
The point with them is to learn the ropes, not to win. Note that at the start, against beginners without a clue, killers have the upper hand. If she wins "too much" she'll quickly go against better survivors though. If she wants to take her time in the shallow pool, she may want to let two escape every time.
I'm sure there are many guides that could help too, e.g. Painreliever or something (it was long ago, my memory is a bit fuzzy about the details)
After she's comfortable and start to get a bit how mind game works and how to behave with these two then she could choose another one but its' a matter of taste.
It takes usually hundred of hours to be good enough anyway so she can as well not worry about it and try to laugh it off.
Perspective: years ago when I had "only" 900 hours in game and a Nurse main, I was still being bullied by teams of survivors. I've got several thousands of hours now and I eat "bullies" for breakfast.
I don't recommend Nurse of course, she's the last killer to try IMHO as she requires quite some effort to master.

Wraith is good because you’re constantly chasing and he’s simple to understand. I recommend him the most.
Trapper used to be a solid choice but even with the minor improvements he’s disheartening to play with when you’re against competent players.
Skill Merchant will make things easier for her since someone will almost always dc/suicide against her, making the rest of the match easy for a new killer.
I know it sucks having to go out of a game to learn about it, but I recommend all new killers to watch “how to play Dbd killer” videos on YouTube so they can get a better understanding of the role.

Wraith and Legion are easy killers to start with. They have a simple power to understand and use. Both are also simple M1 Killers so your partner learns the M1 basics and tricks which are helpful for every other killer.
Trapper is not so good to start because of what you said but also due to his loud breath learning M1 basics and mindgames can be quit difficult.
Your partner don't have to be afraid of playing bad because she just starts playing killer. Therefore, it is not important if she wins or loses, it is important to understand the killer basics and how to play them. It is also understandable to be nervous when playing killer but this goes way after some matches.

lol I wouldn’t want to unleash that or a gen merchant main on the community

I thought about Legion as well I just didn’t think the play style would really make sense to her with Legion’s ability. I’ll definitely recommend it if she doesn’t like Wraith though!

Wraith is usually the suggested 'first killer' because he's easy to understand and actually pretty good at lower MMR. Though any of the simpler killers like Trapper, Doctor, Pig, Myers, etc would all be fine. Just don't pick killers like Billy or Nurse who are super-hard to pick up and learn.

Wraith is the easiest to pick up, is straight forward and relatively strong (if you employ hit and run). His power is easy to understand and use. Nothing about him screams difficulty and is perfect for new players.

Wraith and Legion are the ones I would propose.
Legion has amazing cosmetics that she would certainly enjoy and Wraith is simple, effective and teaches a lot about basekit killer stuff.

Definitely Wraith. He was so simple to pick up, honestly

I, personally, find Skull Merchant and Knight(even if people don't like playing against them) to be the best killers for newer players to use since they're easy to play as with Knight making the game into a 2v4 and Merchant being an easy killer in general.

I would recommend Wraith!

I would recommend The Pig. Once she gets that first boop on the snoot she'll be hooked for life.

I think legion is the best beginner killer as it has a simple power and both built in slowdown and tracking while you haven't got all the perks unlocked

Besides them you can also suggest Myers, Pig and even Chucky (he's the easiest killer to play out of the 110% speed ones).

Wraith is the quintessential killer for beginners. A very simple power that can be used for more advanced techniques once you understand the game enough. You really can't go wrong with him.

As many others said, Wraith. He is perfect for a new Killer player, he is decently strong and teaches you the basics of DBD Killer gameplay without anything unnecessary which would only overcomplicate things. You dont have to deal with any complex power, basically Bing Bong and M1 to hit and thats it.

She can’t go wrong with Wraith.
Trapper also isn’t bad at all since he’s just an M1 Killer and the trap power is very easy to understand. Plus Trapper teaches a person about pallets and windows since those are ideal beginner spots to trap.
I think both are good starting points. Personally I used to think players should learn Wraith first but I see now the value in learning Trapper first. Overall though starting with Wraith is also fine.

I personally recommend Trapper. He's good for learning the fundamentals like how Survivors loop around structures. Plus, it's just super satisfying for a well placed trap to catch a Survivor at a pivotal moment and turn the match around for you. It hardly matters that he's relatively weak, since she should be playing against other newer players for her first couple of matches.
He certainly has his frustrations but that's OK, playing Killer can be frustrating and she'll have to experience that for herself sooner or later.
For whatever reason, I've never enjoyed playing as Wraith (or against him for that matter) but of the free Killers, he's another obvious choice. But I think his ability to sneak up on survivors and get lots of free hits doesn't prepare you well for Killers that have a terror radius or somewhat poor mobility.

I'm of the opinion it's always best to start with whatever character is the most appealing*, regardless of difficulty, because you'll have the drive to keep playing and getting better with that particular character. If that's not a factor, Wraith is pretty good, of course. I think Legion can be good too, being a simple character who also might (*might*) let her notice tendencies in where survivors are without looking at them directly, cultivating a good sense for the macro game.
On that note, I think a killer like the Knight could work very well, as Knight's power is very centered around the macro game and requires skill in both basic chase and map pressure, which can result in learning at a good rate. She'd have to learn how to chase without relying on an M2 attack, and his power would require active thought about things beyond chasing. Plus, Knight is fun and cool.
*Not Nurse. Of course.

Wraith is great for beginners. You can't do much wrong with him and he is easy enough to understand so that you can focus on learning the killer role rather than the specific killer.
Doctor also isn't bad but beginners tend to shock way more than necessary. He is great for learning how to track survivors though.

Doctor can be a bit intimidating for new players when you look at his Add Ons.

become huntress main

Wraith is the best to learn cause he has an basic ability to learn.

Just slap on range and Discipline or Restraint. Most of his addons are alright in the sense that you as a the Doctor player don't need to remember every effect anyway. And they certainly won't use this monstrosity as a beginner:
What an addon, really. You know an addon is great when you need 2 hours to explain what it does to a new player.

I would recommend Pig. Normal M1 killer, who has a natural slowdown as a fallback to be able to spend time learning in the game. While perks aren't great, Surveillance and Make Your Choice are OK perks.
For characters that aren't paid DLC, I would also consider:
- Legion as another normal M1 killer who has a great perk in Discordance to unlock, and his injuring survivors again buys time to get the loop practise in.
- Artist who can use her crows to find people and as she gets better has tricks she can use and grow into, but otherwise can be played M1, with 3 great perks in Pain Res, Grim Embrace and Pentimento.
- Clown who's chase is fairly simple to play at a basic level, and again is an M1 with great perks in Bamboozle and Pop.
In my experience in modern DBD for new player, I would avoid Wraith. He is fine and simple, but he is quite oppressively strong at low level, and can create bad habits. A lot of the time lowbie survivors will react poorly and/or path bad against him uncloaking and grant free hits. As such she won't get much practise at loops, Wraith is better to learn when she starts going against better survivors. His perks are also poop, so is kinda wasted time.
Trapper is obviously a decent choice, but the need to setup on Trapper will slow her down doing the bit she needs to most practise on, which is M1 chase... but perfectly fine to learn on Trapper if she doesn't take winning too seriously.
