Why are we nerfing Deadlock?
Deadlock in it's current state it requires you to be losing the game and only gets a maximum of 4 uses, if you're losing badly. Not only that, it only blocks 1 Gen per use.
If anything, you're punishing players that don't stack PainRes+Pop. It's probably one of the healthiest slowdowns in the game.

It's a perk that see use, so it needs to be nerfed.

It's a perk that doesn't require any activation from the killer, also 5 seconds are practically nothing.
12 -
You have to put in 0 input to get quite a huge value. This Perk also is very good when camping or tunneling. Reducing the duration by 5 seconds is not enough of a Nerf for such a strong Perk.
I am actually surprised it was not nerfed sooner.

It requires you to be losing the game. It's in the same realm as nerfing Coup and Fire Up.
2 -
not enough for a nerf what? The perk may be finished
0 -
The Perk is not finished when they reduce the duration by 5 seconds, be reasonable. You still get 100 seconds of a blocked Gen without having to do anything aside from equipping a Perk.

bhvr clearly wanted to blanket nerf all the strong slowdowns. Tho deadlock deserved it as it's almost always used by ppl using degen strats. They should have just given it an activation requirement tho

Because it gave a lot of value for nothing

Because apparently all gen defense needs to be completely nerfed.
There's a reason that everyone is using pain res and pop. Because they are the only good gen defense left, and the game is balanced around killers bringing gen defense.
I just hope they buff the basekit of all killers to compensate. I would love to see these perks nerfed even more, and base kit gen kick be brought to 10%, and basekit regression made 200%.
1 -
the perk is still good
6 -
base kit gen kick be brought to 10%
50%, let survivors do one gen for 5 minutes
8 -
Its only good by comparison now.
Pop is useless again, Grim embrace is only slightly nerfed, but its still only a "Decent", pain res nerfed again to 80% total regression, doesn't even add a whole gen of time, despite actively requiring you to NOT tunnel.
All this is going to lead to is either more tunneling and camping, or people just slugging now.
3 -
pain res nerfed again to 80% total regression,
In what world you think it's good for the game that by just equipping one perk survivors had to do not 5 but 6 "gen times"?
Also combine it with POP and the fact that gen tapping is no more, basekit kick removes 5% of gen and gen times were prolonged to 90 seconds.
2 -
Hook all 4 survivors in 1 special hook to maybe get a 25% regression on the most progressed generator, how is it unfair?

CAuse as long as killers can stack slowdowns limitlessly it doesnt really matter how strong a single perk is. And being honest, Deadlock is mostly used within tunneling builds for a reason, and thats plainly unhealthy. Thre is no reasoning to say it is healthy. Still this perk is a good one, 5s isnt even that much of a nerf.

unlike coup or fire up, it prevents you from losing the game with very powerful slowdown.
3 -
I dont get bhvr logic. They nerf everything, a few perks get used, nerf those release new powerful perks over and over. Then they wonder why the few they havent nerfed yet get used.

i predict more camping. deadlock+grim embrace+pain res is amazing for proxy camping. not slugging. the issue is that they're kick gens but not buffing base regression to 150% or 200%.
personally i never used pop so it didn't bother me. i only used pop+eruption on specific killers with very high mobility.

Because it is completely free game-delay with nothing required for the killer to make it work and was one of the best slowdown perks for camping.
It’s a 5 second nerf, it’s not a big deal.
5 -
Equip a perk and get 100 seconds of gen blockage with no requirements to fulfill on your end.
There's the answer to your question.3 -
That's the actual logic I believe. BHVR wants a continually changing game, not something static even if it was balanced. I don't think they are surprised a meta emerges, I think they actually want that to happen, and when it becomes common change it to something else.
1 -
problem is they keep changing the same perks over and over.
Touch some of the 1% used perks
0 -
Not trying to be rude, but a 5 second nerf isn't that serious and I don't see the point in this post. It's still a strong perk.
7 -
Why not nerf Deadlock?
2 -
They're nerfing it because it helps for camping playstyles.
2 -
Off the record doesn't require any activation from the survivor, and yet it's not getting nerfed.
0 -
Deadlock rewards you no matter what. It will provide full value even if the killer is afk. Thats healthy to you?
1 -
You're using it because you're camping and tunneling for pointless streaks.
You're part of the problem and the reason the perk is getting nerfed.
1 -
It doesn't 'require you to be losing the game' in any sense. You could have 2 survivors alive with 5 gens remaining and it will still do the exact same thing.
It's literally free value for simply equipping the perk. Now it'll be very slightly less value.
