Whatever nerfs it may get in the future will likely disproportionally affect solo players than swf. It's like swf is the way the game is balanced

You could remove the aura effect and replace it with something less oppressive. For example: "After you look at the killer for 5/4/3 seconds, they are stunned for 3/4/5 seconds".

Whats the cooldown on that? If the cooldown is too long, its useless, if its too short thats means the killer can never win a chase against the user.

Possible rework:
Your aura is revealed to the killer at all times while you're within their TR. The killer's aura is only revealed to you if you're both looking in the other's direction and while you're outside the killer's TR. This introduces counterplay to the perk and carries an actual risk.

Well that’s not oppressive at all and totally not the exact reason ds got nerfed.
Here is how you fix ooo:
Only the obsession can make use of it. When you look at the killer, the killer’s LOCATION is revealed for 3 seconds on a 30/25/20 second cool down. When the killer looks in your direction, they can see you and you gain a 25% bonus to action speed and 200% bp to all categories (killer gains 100% more when you’re in their sights.) You immediately go into the struggle phase on hook.

If you join a lobby with friends then the perk should be disabled, simple as that.

Honestly, it's fine for solos. SWF is just making this perk broken (sometimes tho).
The devs should lock out OoO for SWF, only solos should be able to use it.

Then they'd just lobby dodge until they got into a lobby with their friends to troll the killer. Hell, with the new matchmaker, you probably wouldn't even need to dodge, just queue up at the same time.

I've been using this perk recently whilst trying to get the Adept Laurie trophy, and I kept being in Hillbilly matches and I didn't find it a fun perk at all. It seems useful against some killers, but it's far too situational. Being healed and accidentally putting your camera on Billy whilst he's looking right in your direction is a death sentence. 😂

I don't think so, I remember at Beta release it was a thing, but really exhausting and time consuming to do so. And how many people were playing in average back then? 1k or so?
Now we have 5 seconds cooldown and waaay more people playing (I think multiple 10+k players in average) so that's gonna be nearly impossible, especially all 4 together.

off the top of my head? Idk you recover from the broken status effect once per match if the killer is within 24,30,36m of you. Makes you the obsession(giving rancor another reason to mori someone at end game other than ds.

There's a difference between adding a level of risk and making a perk completely useless. No Mither adds risk as you're constantly open to being one-hit downed, but a change like this would just be ridiculous and I don't understand why anybody would ever use it. Unless the killer was seriously lacking in the brain department, how could you ever successfully escape a chase? They'd literally see you wherever you went.
ALSO TO ADD: How is this perk not already risky? The killer can see your aura too?

The idea is to use it as a mind-gaming perk to avoid getting in the killer's TR in the first place. Besides, you can always just loop and delay getting caught.

But if you just happen to look in the killers direction whilst they're looking into yours, it's pretty much game over. Especially against Billy as he'll be in your terror radius within seconds. I honestly think this perk is already very risky and I hardly see anybody use it. I just don't see the point of reworking it. It isn't needed.

It's only really an issue with SWF, We need to treat the main issue not the symptom. SWF needs a good looking into as a whole and something needs to be done to balance it, but sadly I don't see that happening anytime soon if ever.
On a side note, This perk really shouldn't work on a cloaked wraith I never understood why his aura can be read while hes invisible.

it really isn't, lol. i get good chases in so i pair it with adrenaline, self-care, and lithe (bc i don't have sprint burst or BL on my Laurie).

New rework:
The killer sees your aura if they look in your direction while you're outside their TR, you see the killer's aura if both of you are looking at each other while outside the killer's TR, and nothing happens otherwise.

What if OoO was like Bloodhounds ability where he could temporarily see through walls for 5 seconds for every 5 seconds your aura is revealed to the killer (12m/24m/36m.)
This would reveal killer location for 5 seconds and recent killer footsteps as well as pallets, walls, objectives and vaults.
This wouldn't be exploited, one use every 60 seconds, with a max of 4 tokens.
You would see the killers aura as normal except for the survivor there would be a 2 second delay on the aura to increase risk. Killers get an instant reading and if they choose to go for the OoO user they would get 2 seconds headstart to close down the gap to the survivor.
Sounds difficult to understand.

Dont toutch Object of obsession its a prefrect perk to challange the killer on having a fun chase, people very rarely runs it but whenever someone runs it i get so happy because i can get a good chase out of it honestly

I like this change more than the previous one cause I was about to ask how was chase going to work with killer seeing the aura the whole time. Having it so the killer can see you outside of the TR when you are not looking at them will give more risk to having a chase ensue or killer having knowledge for what gens are being worked on, saves, etc.

I'd rather nerf SWF directly since from solo perspective of mine OoO is one of my most beloved perks to combo with sole survivor. Don't nerf such amazing perk, better nerf the real issue that makes it broken in some scenarios and that's SWF.

comms isn’t the issue either Bc you can play with comms and not exploit. It’s the comm groups using it to give away the killer position at all times. That’s the only reason I think this perk needs a rework nerf. 72m is a pretty good chunk of distance plenty of time to move and spy again to relay the information. I respect people using it to solo and swf not exploiting it. There’s groups using it to exploit though which is trash.

I think OOO is mostly fine how it is, as it is a good anti-killer-stealth perk. IIRC they are changing OOO with the next update so the effects are applied only to the obsession, which makes it more fair overall.
As for how it works in SWF yea it can be really strong, but generally speaking you don't need it to keep tabs on the killer. If I'm getting chase I can just say "I'm being chased by shack" and my team knows where the killer is anyway. OOO doesn't change that. The only thing OOO does in an SWF is they immediately know what killer it is, but once someone gets found it's a moot perk for the team. Also since the killer can see you they can keep tabs on you for free. If I see you just teabagging at a distance I will probably ignore you because you aren't doing anything important. If I see you doing a gen or healing I will come over and interrupt that, so it goes both ways.

I see your point ,but there’s a big difference between “I’m in a chase at shack” , and “the killer is over blank , and now he’s over blank” Bc the killer doesn’t have to be in a chase for someone to use ooo and relay information which is ultimately my point.

If there are 4 of you in a chat, you can easily keep a set of eyes on the killer at all times. When you get hooked "oh whoever is to my 9 o'clock killer is headed your way". It helps marginally at best for SWF because you can already do this.
Also miscommunication is a thing and not everyone is great with giving good intel quickly. By the time you tell someone what the killer is doing, he's already close enough to them they can see or hear them and call out "killer is by me". You don't need the exact X/Y coordinate of the killer.

Alright, and ooo gives you the ability to huddle together and keep tabs on the killer so the group can move from the area before the killer gets close enough given the 72m distance.

If all 4 of you can do this then the killer is garbo and OOO likely wouldn't have made a difference. Any decent killer will find and chase at least 1 of you. Also you are generally better off splitting up anyway to do multiple gens at once, you only need to team up mid or late game when there are fewer gens. If it's a Legion, Huntress, Billy, or LF being close together like that is generally a bad idea too.
Also if you happen to get a Freddy, OOO becomes OOF because now you are "Object Of ######### ME" since the aura reading will only benefit him.

You’re not wrong, and I agree with this to a certain extent. However, that’s no reason not to consider a re-work for the sake of the lower/mid tier killers that this tactic heavily impacts.
